Continuing Influences

January 22-February 1 (exact January 27) Venus conjunct Neptune in Pisces: A time to slow down and connect spiritually and deeply with the many dimensions and realms of the spirit. Our relationship to the divine is available for a serious visit or upgrade with Venus and Neptune together. Whatever your beliefs, pay some close attention to giving yourself a Neptune dosing. It will be healing and wonderful and help out a tremendous amount.

January 15-February 5 (exact January 26) Venus in Pisces square Mars in Sagittarius: You might feel very exuberant about moving forward but it’s too much right now. The tension is there for a purpose. It could show up as a relationship slowing you down or you don’t have enough resources to do what you want to do. Maybe your creative vision won’t come alive yet. Be patient. Have faith.

January 29-February 4 (exact February 2) Pluto in Capricorn sextile Venus in Pisces: What a nice boost of universal star sign support to get the ego out of our relationships with Pluto and Pisces in the mix! Something actively moves us out of ourselves and into a space where we are together and probably working toward something mutually beneficial.

January 9 – April 25 (Exact March 10) Chiron in Aries square the North Node in Cancer / January 9 – April 25 (Exact March 10) Chiron in Aries square the South Node in Capricorn: This is the time to figure out what hurts and what helps. Stand up for yourself and do what is good for your inner self so your life energy is protected. The spiritual warrior in you is ignited and the earth mother is trying to have a dialogue with them. There is a lot of healing and finding the path forward to figure out. Do your work.

Leaves  May 8 2020 11:22:19 am (MDT +6:00) (exact January 12), return to orb May 17-December 26 during Saturn retrograde (never exact), Saturn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: This is one of the most powerful aspects of our lives, and a once in a lifetime occurrence. The opportunity to deconstruct and reconstruct a new world. A steady and consistent effort can provide a way to work within the world that will honor our values in a noble way. Nature is larger than man, and we need to align with a higher vision as we make a new world, culture, society, and systems. The idea that men are machines or the ideas that our parents and the world has transmitted are not aligned with higher values. Saturn is the lord of karma and Pluto is the great destroyer/transformer/re-maker. Together, they can embody some larger conversations among nature and mankind is part of nature.

February 2020 Astrology Trends:

January 1-October 30 (exact February 20, July 27, October 12) Jupiter in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces: When the expansion of universal governance meets consciousness in the most active of supportive aspects, this can provide an interesting mix. This is a non-personal aspect but I think it will affect us all in personal ways depending on how it touches our chart. With Venus integrating alongside Neptune, relationships and/or values will certainly be deeply activated. Business and financial relationships may shift to a deeper or more spiritual slant. What do you have in water and earth signs in the middle degrees?

February 2-16 (exact February 10) Chiron conjunct Venus in Aries: This is a great time to start something new in regard to the subject of what you have been subjected to in life. What have been the ways you have experienced tyrants in your life? Where have you been the scapegoat? What relationships have been difficult where you’ve felt victimized? It’s time to address them or you will find yourself experiencing stress as a result—it’s healing or stress during this time period. We can have many experiences this month that let us know our old models of the world are ready to change—this is one aspect supporting that.

February 3 Mercury in Pisces: The messenger in Pisces is not delivering messages in a straightforward clear fashion. Reflection is a large part of interacting with water. Maybe so is drowning and swimming and floating. The mind and thinking and information are important parts of living but they are not the only ways of knowing, and maybe that’s the intelligence to pick up during Mercury in Pisces. We are attached to our old models of the world, and what we perceive are only are perceptions and models. Mostly what we interact with, see, work with is space and the edges of things—we can’t actually put our hands inside the things we touch. We only touch the edges of them. On a molecular level, we can get down to an observational dimension where we see edges themselves as space and potentiality—a quantum possibility. To swim in the depths of the new phase as Mercury crosses over into Aries and brings new concepts to us, to absorb new knowledge, long-assumed beliefs and things we thought of as facts may need to be questioned and set adrift. Our own proven assumptions and cherished and long-held beliefs… may become challenged. If you find yourself drowning, maybe that’s a little bit what it’s all about. Like dreaming of falling turns into flying—when your brain is drowning, turn it into swimming, grow gills and relax into the possibilities….

February 3-7 (exact February 5) Mercury in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus: A boost or wave of mental energy that sweeps the mind into the depths of the ocean. Which can leave you feeling overboard or leave you feeling expansive and integrating subtle information on a psychic level—as if you are connected to a consciousness that senses the slightest wind like a blade of grass in the slightest breeze.

February 4-December 23 (Exact April 4, June 29, and November 12) Jupiter conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: This is the aspect that brings us the telescope and the microscope. How much more literal and down to earth could the fusion (conjunction) of the planet of expansion and size (Jupiter) conjunct transformation (Pluto) be? Now we’re looking into black holes, still looking at space in new and revolutionary ways… In conjunction also with Saturn I feel it does have something to do with time and “event horizons.” However, in spiritual and evolutionary terms, we can take that into examining the black holes in our own lives. Where are we losing power? What energy holes and vortices need to be “closed up?” That’s a revolution and transformation that can serve us if we telescope and microscope in and out within our lives and take a look at how we are doing.

February 4-April 7 (exact March 14) Uranus in Taurus sextile North Node in Cancer: Unifying Uranian consciousness within our bodies in a grounded manner to bring into conscious awareness Taurean stillness and peace is something truly sacred that can occur now and through the next six years (approximately). With a sextile to the Cancer North Node now, the experience is something that touches our sensitive hearts and human bodies asking us to understand the poetry of how water meets land—the sand and wave of ocean or lake shores. The North Node is shifting from the idea of family and mother and nurturing this year to knowledge and communication as a focus for our collective and individual destiny. We need a pause such as this to actively consolidate and bring forth reflections upon what we have learned about the human family, and in this sense it is family related to our higher consciousness. What may we need to let go of (like Uranus killed Saturn in the myth) or allow ourselves to create, in order to progress?

February 4-April 7 (exact March 14) Uranus in Taurus trine South Node in Capricorn: It would be so easy to expand whatever work is in front of us, to “go with the flow,” because there is probably a mountain of it, and miss the opportunity to reflect on quieter voices calling us. The questions about values and ethics and what mountains are worth climbing have never been more important.

February 5-13 (exact February 7) Mercury in Pisces trine North Node in Cancer: The still quiet voice of destiny, the ethical dilemmas that challenge the status quo, the things that stop us from group think—may be the confusing elements that are expanding our mind and helping us integrate the Mercury in Pisces compassion, spirit, and learning in more experiential and sympathetic processes now.

compassion

February 7-16 (exact February 12) Venus in Aries square North Node in Cancer: This is a hard one because it’s about the individual in a stress aspect to the family structures. It requires courage be activated within us—that’s the transit of Venus through Aries which lasts until March. We need to fight for ourselves (even if it’s only in our own imagination) and our needs and may be experiencing conflict either internally or externally due to past stories while we need to practice some new behaviors and skills or envision a new role for ourselves. In fact, the future is simply at odds with a past we can now let go. The most positive path is embracing the new identity and looking forward to Springtime archetypes as a time a birth and renewal.

February 7 Venus in Aries: Today I was so close to a bird flying in the late winter juniper at a high altitude on the mountain (at least seven thousand feet up) and I could hear the breath of a bird that I kept thinking sounded like it was a mammal—I was looking for a little fox or something more terrifying. It was only the bird—making its loud panting in the rocks and trees to my right. The little birds that will try to survive the Spring are like Venus in Aries—needing other birds and all the relations in its environment to subsist. Needing to develop the courage to die trying to survive the extreme nature of its environment. Not even yet understanding its peril and the effort it will take to develop the hoarse lungful of survival song it will need to eat or be eaten. Sometimes you have to fight for things. Know what you are fighting and identify the worthy position—if you hear the breath next to you on a lonely trail—make sure you know your situation when you take up arms. We can sometimes fight for our anger, our addictions, our positions of power that mean nothing ultimately. What do we fight for? Might doesn’t make right.

February 8/9 (around midnight in the United States) Full Moon in Leo:  A Full Moon for self-expression. Take some time to enjoy something wholeheartedly—movement, get a makeover, a massage, give a performance or take in a performance. Here are some examples. Enjoy your children with all your heart. Get married/engaged/make a commitment (no return), make a grand gesture, give a gift from your heart. Go ahead and do the thing you have wanted to do for so long. This Leo Full Moon means to live a day where you only go forward—no backsies. It’s like skydiving and enjoying the law of gravity thoroughly.

February 16 Mars in Capricorn (through April 1): It’s time to climb the highest mountains, provided the mountain you are scaling is worthy of your assent. Self-discipline takes the place of ego and broad confidence (maybe over-confidence) that you have been experiencing while Mars was in Sagittarius. You may find yourself feeling you can concentrate on a single task, that you have deep commitment to enact, and nerves of steel. You may be blessed with focus but make sure you consciously stoke the fires of a warm heart, too. Capricorn can get cold and calculating. Keep away from that shadow side of Mars in Capricorn. Keep your priorities straight and your body healthy, also.

February 17 (until March 8) Mercury Retrograde: 12 degrees Pisces back to 28 degrees Aquarius (March 4 Mercury enters Aquarius again / March 16 forward again into Pisces): In case we were wondering, the skies and the astrological fates believe we should focus our minds thoroughly this month and into next on our compassion, good hearts, creative knowledge, emotional thoughts, and the element of water. Pisces Mercury is described above, and retrograde will only mean we back off from placing our thoughts into boxes. We’re finishing up with the past and we can do much more with meditation and kindness that we can with organized and single-pointed thoughts. We’re going to need to relax and let life lead us right when Capricorn is also asking us to work super hard on some projects. This is a fascinating combination of astrological influences. It means we will not get to predict anything and yet will need to put in highest levels of effort. Trust and faith, Piscean arenas, will be needed. And that’s underscored with Mercury reversing through Pisces.

February 17-29 (exact February 21) Chiron in Aries square Mars in Capricorn: This aspect almost writes the tale and is so emblematic of Hercules (Mars) unknowingly shooting his poisoned arrow into the flank of his mentor, Chiron, shooting at shadows in the sky. Creating a wound in Chiron that could never heal. A morality tale to try to help us or at least warn us about how harm creates endless suffering that has been told in old stories and do we truly want to keep re-living the same stories in endless repetition? It begs the question of whether humans—individually and in groups—have free will and intelligence or are unable to break free of learned and transmitted behaviors from previous generations. Can the human species learn?

February 17-March 1 (Exact February 21) Mars in Capricorn trine Uranus in Taurus: There is an expansion of the ability to tap into the ability to slow down and translate consciousness into something earth-bound. Ideas can find their way into action and manifestation. What a beautiful period of quiet productivity is possible.

February 17-28 (exact February 23) Venus in Aries square Jupiter in Capricorn: It could be too much of the good stuff! This is a tension aspect between the two benefics. Venus is wishing to get a bunch of exercise or do some rigorous lovemaking, perhaps, in Aries, you know, because it’s good for your heart! Meanwhile, Jupiter wants to enact something epic at work or run a marathon or build a skyscraper… this afternoon! So, we need to keep to our self-care and take good care of our bodies and ourselves, for example, while building a new world/system. It looks like the personal vs. political, the personal vs. work priorities astrologically. Good stress to have, probably, as it means a lot of opportunity. You can do this! (Try to pay attention to balance and remember the larger picture and there will be lots of time, ultimately. Beginner’s mind is a good place to inhabit.)

February 18 Sun in Pisces: Blinded by silk… The Pisces Sun is focusing on softness and compassion, art and creativity. Pisces can be surprisingly inflexible when stressed. Healing, staying open-minded, linking to something larger than the self are all important aspects of Picean times. Staying free from compulsions and addictions are the challenges.

February 18-March 6 (exact February 27) Mercury Retrograde in Pisces trine North Node in Cancer: This is an opportunity to see how you fit into the greater family of life. Based upon your past, you can tell a new story for the future and heal neurologically, if you consciously choose to do so. There are many tools to do this—Byron Katie, Joe Dispenza, have a few techniques I like to use myself when I need pivot to healing thoughts.

February 19-25 (exact February 22) Sun in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus: Activation of your own unique brilliant ideas can enliven your self-analysis in surprising ways. I’m excited to see what insights you receive. Keep your Spidey senses activated.

February 19-March 3 (exact February 23) Mars in Capricorn oppose North Node in Cancer: Get your workout in on these days and focus on your tasks while also focusing on integrating the larger perspectives and values in your life. Do your work diligently and also balance your vision of what true priorities your heart holds.

February 19-March 5 (exact February 24) Sun in Pisces sextile Mars in Capricorn: You can use this to drive creative projects forward. Activating the Mars battery bunny energy of Capricorn and the Piscean stellum of authenticity can allow for meaningful integration. Communication can truly bring some great artworks into manifestation—and I am excited to see what people create near the end of February!

February 20-29 (Exact February 25) Sun conjunct Mercury in Pisces: The Sun gives a large amount of hot tub Pisces energy to Mercury (and the Moon!) to truly help integrate and express feelings and emotions. Pisces can mean creative and artistic expressions receive a jolt and inner reflective journeys of all kinds are supported and renewed. You’re sure to find some deep, fascinating, meaningful ways and words to communicate.

February 23-27 (exact February 25) Mercury Retrograde in Pisces sextile Mars in Capricorn: Active energy for the courage and initiative to move forward based upon the insights and experiences Pisces has been gifting during February (probably at the New Moon stellum).

February 23 New Moon in Pisces: The Sun and Moon, along with Mercury, meet for this New Moon to help us consolidate our thoughts, beliefs, and values with deepest compassion for ourselves and others as we get ready to moves into a truly revolutionary 2-year period and the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction comes into view. This is the final New Moon in the final sign of the zodiac and is truly the end of a long cycle of self-review to allow us to reflect in many dimensions and acknowledge that we know (to know is different than to imagine, to think, to believe, to plan, to develop) where we need to go from here. We each have a sacred role in the human family on planet earth at this time, and just being here is enough. If we have been doing our conscious part, the past few years have taken us on a quite a ride as we asked the questions about what we are supposed to be doing here. We probably had quite a lot of direction changes. Now we have some guidance although not all the details. This New Moon is the time to have a commitment ceremony with ourselves and maybe one or two close ones as we dedicate ourselves to work for the highest good.

February 25-March 2 (exact February 28) Mercury Retrograde in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus: Another aspect pointing to the fact that life wants to give you insight into your unique self and how you can live authentically and think about who you are and how you can conceptualize your identity.

February 25-February 19, 2021 (Exact December 21, 2020) Jupiter conjunct Saturn in Capricorn: This is the beginning of the true change that helps you make the transition through the barriers that will help you grow into your new role/identity/beyond current boundaries. This may or may not involve a paid career, but I suspect it involves a “calling.” Depending on your developmental state of being, whether you’re age 8 months or 80 years, this calling may be to form and shed brain cells or to accept retirement. Many of us are forming new ways of being in a very uncertain and shifting world. I am learning to become a writer. Maybe an independent one if I can make a structure around it. What barriers have you faced and how can you, in real time, in real life, manifest and overcome them—this year? It is a year to become real about supporting yourself and your community with meaningful and authentic contributions. And all with methods that make sense for you instead of the old ways. Shedding the old ways is one of the most important things we are all doing—like snakes shedding our outworn skin. We HAVE to leave some parts of ourselves behind (fears, self-defeating behaviors and beliefs, demands that leave us depleted and over-extended). We won’t be carrying things forward and letting go will be the key to making important contributions. And one of the most difficult things we will do. This will span 2020 and 2021.

Active when 2020 Opens

Leaves  Jan 3 2020 10:05:06 am (MST +7:00) Uranus Retrograde in Taurus trine Mercury in Capricorn: Our unique mind can provide insights that are truly beneficial and we can see clearly to how to bring forth some great new inventions or build some new projects that can develop into helpful things for the environment around us. That is, IF we pay attention.

Leaves  Jan 9 2020 7:48:11 am   (MST +7:00) Uranus in Taurus trine Jupiter in Capricorn: Your calling is calling. IF you pay attention… Jupiter expands the whisper to a yodel. To a full-on choir of show tunes. If you haven’t heard your particular call-to-order, if you haven’t opened the envelope…Your envelope is about to turn into a Tardis. Your Sherpa guide is about to show up. It’s likely to look and sound something like Dr. Who. Entirely confusing and wacky and ready to go to a lot of dimensions. I mean, what were we going to do in the time between time anyway?

Leaves Jan 27 2020 6:24:47 pm  (MST +7:00) (Exact January 6) Jupiter in Capricorn oppose North Node in Cancer and conjunct South Node in Capricorn: One of the things to watch out for as Jupiter approaches Saturn and Pluto is a sense of lulling ourselves to sleep—that we don’t need to worry about being sensitive to the “other.” That the Cancerian, or sensitive, side of the zodiac, will take care of itself while we accomplish the great works of our lives. The North Node is in Cancer. Cancer is the sign of the mother, of family, of emotions, of sensitivities, of the base of life. With expansive Jupiter in Capricorn—the outer world where we have a chance to build our reputation and do our great works—we can build systems and build ourselves right out of our comforts. We can fall prey to overconfidence and arrogance through the Capricorn South Node conjunction. We can over-work and under-rest. We can bask in the work and lose our selves.

January 2020 Astrology Trends:

January 1-7 (Exact January 2) Jupiter in Capricorn conjunct Mercury in Capricorn: We align/integrate grace and gifts given with siblings, schools, short trips, our minds, and the written and spoken word. It’s an opportunity to expand our communication and our minds. In Capricorn, the subject matter may be time, families, fathers, and governments.

January 1-22 (exact January 10) Sun conjunct (0 degrees) Mercury in Capricorn: The Sun provides self-confidence to our questions of how to think about and present ourselves to the world. This is a time of significant change in collective cycles and Mercury and the Sun together are providing insight on your individual part and link into the greater path forward if you would focus on looking at that. You my already be taking steps to fulfill your destiny or your story may become clear now. You have access to expanded truth with Jupiter in the mix—see Jupiter aspect above. (You don’t have to know the big story, either, to know your next step.)

January 3-16 (exact January 10) Sun in Capricorn semisquare Mars in Sagittarius: The Sun is in secondary stress aspect to Mars in Sagittarius (another link to Jupiter’s ruling sign). So, even though you may gain insight, motivation, and confidence—you might find you can’t move forward quite yet with the action plan. That’s timing for you! It’s okay to do the inner work and let things unfold patiently. Saturn is in the mix so trust Saturn (patience) and let Mars (action) simmer on the back burner.

January 1 – 6 (exact January 3) North Node in Cancer oppose Mercury in Capricorn: Mercury is going to ask us to realize the root of any action in the outside world is inner wisdom. Dualities need to be balanced. For example, the masculine by definition doesn’t even exist without the feminine. Dualities and multiplicities don’t exist without the universal integration—oneness or place of no definition—they sprang out of. Human identities are these abstract, agreed upon, and skewed ways of looking at reality. In Cancer and Capricorn, the lens is through the family system. The North Node viewed through the abstraction of Astrology says that the highest and best view at this time—the Cancer view—is to let the tender heart prevail—the divine and healing feminine. Instead of closing up in our shell it’s important to experience vulnerability in order to understand how to think about and conceive of (Mercury) the public world (Capricorn).

January 3 Mars in Sagittarius: Mars, planet of action, impulse, being the advocate, and the protector… moves into the sign that seeks the truth (even ignoring the truth). Sagittarius wants to expand and travel and learn. Philosophy, education, learning about cultures foreign to our own, taking bold steps, drama, and religious activities. These among many other “big” things are some of the Sagittarian themes for actions and motivations you can take in January. Mars is where you are currently called to stand up for yourself and others in life.

January 3-14 (exact January 5, 2020) Chiron in Aries trine Mars in Sagittarius: I think someone might have put you in your place where your most cherished beliefs are concerned. Now is the time to take back your own belief system and stand up inside for what you truly believe. It is your right to hold and cherish your own beliefs. You don’t need to do anything in the outer world about this necessarily bit there is a lot for you to do in your inner world to protect yourself. There is perhaps a cleansing process or inner self-defense to develop so you are free from others’ influence and can feel flexible and strong in yourself. You are a spiritual warrior.

January 3-9 (exact January 7) Uranus in Taurus quincunx Mars in Sagittarius: You can be either missing nature or you heal by seeking out nature to readjust your energy and take some time to just “be.” You will be surprised at the shot of energy the easy communing with something truly pleasing will provide for you. Take it easy with some Taurean earth and body wisdom on the 7th. (I don’t usually report on secondary aspects, but January’s Capricorn Saturn-Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is so major I wanted to provide any help I could!)

January 5-9 (exact January 8) Jupiter in Capricorn semisquare Venus in Pisces: What a Capricorn stellum needs is more Venus energy—softness and gentleness—kindness and flow. It may be difficult with a stress aspect though. Or it may work out that with a stress aspect Venus keeps knocking at the door saying, “Hello? Is anybody home? Hello?” And bringing cookies with a warm blanket over while Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, the Sun, the Moon, and the South Node say, “We are trying to get a win here and we don’t have time for this relaxation and love and healing nonsense!”

Mid-January Capricorn Stellum Visualization: Let me give you a ritual and in parenthesis the planetary references. Light a light (Full Moon / Sun)—a candle, an LED light, a little light in your heart, go see the sunrise… and find a solemn stillness within yourself. Put your hand over your heart (North Node in Cancer/South Node in Capricorn). Ask your highest self or deity to help you (Jupiter) and if you don’t already know (Mercury), ask to be shown your highest and best joyful duty (Saturn). Dedicate yourself to this mission within the human form and human time you have been given. Ask you be given the companions and support needed for the highest outcome (Pluto).

January 10 Full Moon Eclipse in Cancer (about noon MST): A powerful eclipse energy around emotional release and renewal. On the tenth, this eclipse occurs. Mercury, Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, the South Node, and the Sun are semisquare Mars in Sagittarius, so movement and plans may be frustrated or inhibited somehow. On the eleventh, Uranus turns direct. On the twelfth, the once-in-a-couple-hundred years conjunction of Saturn and Pluto Occurs (with the Sun, Jupiter, the South Node, and Mercury all lining up together too!). Capricorn questions are about traditions, aging, the father, timing, culture, discipline, hurdles, depression, delay, effort, criticism, comparison, the personal vs. the collective, overwhelm, inheritance, family, land, memories, possessions, and more.

January 11 Uranus Stations and turns Direct in Taurus: A planet at its transition from retrograde to direct is very powerful. Uranus may send us a ton of energy and insight about planet earth and brilliant help for how to move forward with cleaning up our environment and our bodies, much less wisdom about how to live in a sane, safe, and consensual manner—being in peaceful Taurus. Also, it’s a good time for investment and financial matters to “move forward.”

January 3-21 (exact January 13) Sun conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: Our individual power center, chi, core, lines up with what is greater than us for a few moments, as we sense how the personal is connected to the political and how the individual can’t be separated from the collective. What is your part in the whole?

January 2-22 (exact January 13) Sun conjunct Saturn in Capricorn: One of things about timing is how we are not in charge of it. Here we see highlighted how to be patient and yet how we are a part of it all. It is interesting to watch and be part of something larger that one person. Capricorn is a masculine sign; this is likely to play out in a “father” archetype of some sort. Culture, creativity, conflict can be used by Saturn the teacher.

January 6-16 (exact January 12) Saturn conjunct Mercury in Capricorn: We may be thinking a lot on the issues listed in the full moon eclipse above. We may also find our minds drifting into the “should haves” and the “ought to” realms. This is something to back away from and instead turn toward esoteric thoughts toward wisdom and service. How can we grow and become increasingly wise in our lives?

January 9 – April 25 (Exact March 10) Chiron in Aries square the North Node in Cancer / January 9 – April 25 (Exact March 10) Chiron in Aries square the South Node in Capricorn: This is the time to figure out what hurts and what helps. Stand up for yourself and do what is good for your inner self so your life energy is protected. The spiritual warrior in you is ignited and the earth mother is trying to have a dialogue with them. There is a lot of healing and finding the path forward to figure out. Do your work.

January 14-24 (exact January 19) North Node in Cancer trine Venus in Pisces:  Be soft and nice and tender to everyone around you. It will pay off forever. I promise you.

January 14 Venus in Pisces: Venus in Pisces knows the architecture of relationships. This is a time not only of being kind to others, but of serious creativity and self-care. There is absolutely no need to indulge oneself in substances or drugs. Instead, double-down on the exercise, nutrition, self-love, and easy attitude toward flexibility and self-awareness. Be easy on yourself and others by being excellent caretakers of the body and vehicle you were given to navigate this planet. Be excellent to the planet. Be a loving a caring human. Sense the many dimensions of being.

January 14-24 (exact January 18) Uranus in Taurus square (90 degrees) Mercury in Aquarius: This could bring about some anxiety as you shift into a kind of fixed mindset. Use the body’s wisdom to work through it.

January 15-19 (exact January 17) Chiron in Aries sextile (60 degrees) Mercury in Aquarius: There is a spiritual warrior or pioneering energy at your disposal to help you with any challenges you face. You can use willpower, mental focus, and exercise to break free from any problems.

January 15-February 5 (exact January 26) Venus in Pisces square Mars in Sagittarius: You might feel very exuberant about moving forward but it’s too much right now. The tension is there for a purpose. It could show up as a relationship slowing you down or you don’t have enough resources to do what you want to do or your creative vision won’t come alive yet. Be patient. Have faith.

January 16 Mercury Enters Aquarius: The mind rotates into the areas of science and communications—turns toward groups and networks. Aquarius is an air sign and a fixed sign so making commitments and discoveries and insights and downloading huge amounts of brilliance from the cosmos—become possible under Mercury visits through this lovely sign.

January 20-28 (exact January 22) Uranus in Taurus square Sun in Aquarius: Some sort of tension between the being and the understanding of things… Which may be unexpected! Have patience with yourself is you feel tired, run-down, or anxious.

January 19-25 (exact January 23) Jupiter in Capricorn sextile Venus in Pisces: Venus will provide the antidote to the Capricorn solemnity if you allow the soothing energy in. Venus is gentleness and calm; flow and kindness. Venus is relationships and warmth; creativity and self-indulgence. So find the flexibility in the Capricorn places of rigidity. Remember the path forward is both work and grace—it’s not the individual or the divine. It’s not the self or the group. The tyranny of the “or” is old-school. The path to success is actually in combining and integrating both effort and receiving so that you’re in the flow of something greater than yourself while also participating.

January 20 Sun in Aquarius: The Sun moves into the faster sign of Aquarius. You may feel a lighter or more airy energy as an earth sign is traded for an air sign. Aquarius is still on a quest in the outside world, however. Usually Aquarius seeks connection and wisdom, so you may feel inclined toward these areas. Brilliant insight, community support, scientific discovery, innovation in all arenas… are the realms of Aquarius.

January 21-27 (exact January 25) Mercury in Aquarius sextile Mars in Sagittarius: Now the mind and the action plan are attuned. It’s time to take the bold next steps and watch things work out! Yay!

January 21-25 (exact January 22) Sun in Aquarius sextile Chiron in Aries: Use inner healing energy to power your outer needs. If you need some personal healing, you can see a big boost from this aspect.

January 23-31 (exact January 27) Mars in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces: This is asking you to stay away from the outside world and focus on the inside world. If you try to go out there, you’re probably going to run into chimeras, frustrations, delays, etc. Stay inside yourself and go into the spirit realms instead.

January 24 New Moon in Aquarius (About 2:45 PM MST): With the Sun/Moon square Uranus in Taurus, this is an interesting New Moon in Aquarius that may hold some unexpected new beginnings! The tensions may occur around issues of land and nature, ecology and I hope not natural disaster event such as have been seen with Uranus in the past. The Sun and Moon are personal planets, however, so these may be less on the planetary level and more on the emotional and developmental level. A new Moon asks us to bring what is unconscious into the light.

January 31-March 8 (exact February 20) Jupiter in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces: When the expansion of universal governance meets divine love in the most active of beneficial aspects, this can provide an interesting mix. This is a non-personal aspect but I think it will affect us all in personal ways depending on how it touches our chart. With Venus integrating alongside Neptune, relationships will certainly be deepened. Business and financial relationships may shift to a deeper or more spiritual slant. What do you have in water and earth signs in the middle degrees?

Continuing Influences

April 5 – July 14 / November 20, 2019 – May 8, 2020 (exact January 12, 2020) Saturn in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: The opportunity to deconstruct and reconstruct a new world.

August 11 – January 10, 2020 Uranus Retrograde in Taurus: The latter part of the year is going to be a time of reflection on how we are planting the seeds that will become the future of planet earth. We may surprise ourselves with the innovations that are coming about and what that will mean for human comfort, and for human being. This can be seen on a personal level, as well. What is immovable in your life? Does it need to remain so, or can you find flexible places? Likely you are going to need to change things you were not expecting to change. Uranus usually bring anxiety and Uranus rules electricity, lightning, all your brilliance, and your highest-minded activity. Fast-moving Uranus and slowest-moving Taurus are together for about 7 years so it will be interesting to see how they integrate together. It is the energy of the moment of lightning striking the earth.

October 1 – December 10 (Exact November 8) Saturn in Capricorn sextile Retrograde Neptune in Pisces: A sense that the pressures we’ve been feeling will be loosened a little bit with Neptune’s timelessness and Saturn’s Timelord meeting up. Work on making progress on the many life-changing tasks before you but enjoy this time frame’s easing of the stress and feelings that time is compressed. Enjoy the thoughts that there is enough time, and things will happen in divine time.

November 26 – December 3 (exact November 29) Mercury in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn: What a nice bump of motivation to awaken us to our compass that tells us about what we believe. After our family gatherings (if you’re in the U.S.), it’s natural we will look at how we conceive of what’s moral and important in our development. It’s overall a time to see where we are at in out development and test the waters for the next phase of what we might build and become. We may get a glimpse of what we are ready for working toward.

November 24-December 2 (exact November 28) Mercury DIRECT in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces: This is a transcendent time when you can link into higher divine mind if you meditate, use automatic writing, or pay attention to your daydreams. Pay attention to how you feel and your intuition.

November 28- December 8 (exact December 3) Venus in Capricorn sextile Mars in Scorpio: Venus relates to Mars in a very elegant dance in this aspect, opening up new possibilities for us to relate to one another. Venus is the planet that activates our relationships and Mars is the planet that is our actions. What this says is that there will be plenty of support for positive interactions to build and promote relationships through depth and doing the hardest parts of things. You can approach and tackle the subjects you have been unable to approach in the past, taboo places, with confidence and success, during this time frame.

November 29-December 9 (exact December 3) Mars in Scorpio trine the North Node in Cancer; Sextile the South Node in Capricorn: Mars provides karmic information here that the actions we take to heal relationships will be the highest actions when we approach them in a nurturing and safe way. If we provide a soft landing for everyone around us, we will be on the path for our highest and best good. If we find ourselves pushing and feeling the sense of single-minded purpose, we are on the Capricorn and South-Node side. There is energy for that, but it is not the highest and best use of our wisdom according to astrology. Use the mother earth, water, Gaia energies. Use water logic to remain flexible. Don’t cling to the shore when faced with whatever you are faced with—allow the current to teach you how to swim in the uncertainty of the river.

December 2019 Astrology Trends

Chiron turns from retrograde to direct this month at a critical degree of Aries. This Chiron energy is most active from the beginning of the month through December 12, when Chiron stations and turns direct at 1 degree Aries, and about a week after: As we examine our painful ego structures, we are seeing Chiron at the most powerful point of the zodiac to confront the obstructions within us that need to be encompassed, understood, resolved, and to be integrated this December. Habits are challenged, and unprocessed residue from the past encountered–Inherited structures, ancestral energies, past lives, witnessing and letting go, whatever it takes to do so. Temporal and timeless energy is involved. Creating positive structures for a deeper sense of purpose. Peeling the onion to reveal layers of meaning in our lifetime and identifying the self–who it is doing the living. Pressures that separate us from our tribal identities. We may find thought shifts such as: we are for health instead of against illness, etc. Chiron represents a healing journey. Deeply personal and then transpersonal. Most powerful time is for the three weeks when Chiron is turning direct or retrograde, and Chiron turns direct on December 12. The key is to give space to your internal process. Center yourself in contemplation and allow the process to reveal itself to you. Hard aspects are easiest to see—they mean pressure, conflict and urgency. The hard aspects to Chiron for everyone right now are Chiron square Jupiter (and earlier in the month, Venus and later in the month, the Sun and then Mercury) in Capricorn (90 degrees). Chiron Sesquisquare Mars in Scorpio (135 degrees). Chiron oppose the moon on December 19 (180 degrees). Easy aspects are: Venus sextile Chiron, Moon sextile Chiron December 28. Mars Trine Chiron January 1.

December 1- 4 (exact December 3) Mercury in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn: The timing to trigger you to think about your deepest fears and wounds. Have you even thought about being altruistic lately, asks Pluto, in the face of everything that you are lacking, in the face of your own deepest pain?

December 2 Jupiter in Capricorn: Because there is a work party happening and you received an invitation, doesn’t mean you opened the envelope. It doesn’t mean you took the interview, the position, prepared for the job, or even met your team. It doesn’t mean you earned your degree or have decided on a course of study yet. However, Jupiter has entered Capricorn, the sign that talks to the great work of our lives. The mountain we are meant to climb. Have you looked into preparing for the journey? Almost all the planets are moving into Capricorn in December.

December 2-28 (Exact December 15) Jupiter in Capricorn trine retrograde Uranus in Taurus: Your calling is calling. Jupiter expands the whisper to a yodel.

December 1-6 (exact December 3) Venus in Capricorn conjunct South Node / Oppose the North Node in Cancer: Let’s talk through how relationships can be integrated to be easier on everyone. It’s easy to think you should “work on your relationships.” This is looking at the higher order of relationships, which says that it’s really easy to wound others. Look to be mindful and give it a rest. Try easier when it comes to others. Cancer energy reminds us that the core of people can be super sensitive. We are all family, after all. Capricorn can be pretty focused on the task instead of the heart. That would be the lower path, even though it would be the easy way out. The North Node is trying to teach us that the divine feminine is the higher path at this time.

December 5-10 (exact December 8) Sun in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces: We can be deceived or clouded by something that seems to make perfect sense to us, a philosophical, expansive, or international / educational endeavor. There’s something at cross purposes not letting us marry expansion and integration.

December 6-11 (exact December 8) Venus in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces: Here is a boost of energy for your relationships from the divine. You can use your resources to work on relational issues or to boost your creativity. It can also be a time for connecting to resources that are divinely inspired. Align chakras, get grounded, seek nature.

December 7-14 (exact December 11) Venus in Capricorn Conjunct Saturn in Capricorn: This is a good time to “reset” the way you would reset your clock or watch. Your internal clock needs to be reset as well. Use this energy to perform some crystal energy work or to balance yourself somehow—a chakra meditation, a massage, or something physical and first-chakra-oriented. Attend to financial matters. Balance your checkbook, too.

December 10-15 (exact December 13) Venus in Capricorn Conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: Here is the time to allow yourself to interact with the larger forces of life that are beyond your personal level of control. How are you experiencing “The Force?”

December 9 Mercury enters Sagittarius:  You may start asking the big questions. What is the meaning of life? When can I travel out of the country? What degree do I wish to get next?

December 11/12 Full Moon in Gemini: While the Sun is still in Sagittarius, the Gemini Moon asks us to enjoy ourselves a bit. Venus situates herself between Saturn and Pluto and is still in conversation with Mars, so there is the idea of relaxing a bit before almost the entire retinue of planets enters Capricorn and says to us let’s climb a mountain, folks. For this Full Moon, we can still take our shoes off and dance around in the meadow, although we should be careful not to step on any sharp objects. Let’s take advantage of the down time and do some fun activities for the Full Moon because Gemini doesn’t like to take things so seriously (nor does the Sagittarius Sun). Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn may want us to be serious in the back of our minds so also don’t overdo any indulgence such as food or drink or spending—but within limits—take a break here on this day. If you’re thinking of holiday celebrations, this is the time of month to get together with people. Later in the month, it’s going to be much more challenging.

December 2-25 (exact December 9) Jupiter in Capricorn square Chiron in Aries: Overconfidence can create a crisis here. Perhaps overextended. This can lead to opportunities for healing and regeneration as well. We need to use imagination and see where we have been underestimating ourselves and our abilities. Aries is the wound that said: “I should not be.” Who told us we should not be? How can we heal from that each day as we stop compensating for existing and use Mars energy to pioneer a new feeling of aliveness?

December 9-10 Mercury in Sagittarius trine Chiron in Aries: Being able to accelerate your healing without focusing too hard or overthinking.

December 8-18 (exact December 13) Mars in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces: You can use your energy in concert with higher intelligence during this period. You will be able to act in tune with the environment around you, taking the cues as they come and feeling in the flow of things.

December 14-24 (exact December 19) Mars in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn: Here is controlled transformation. There is a lot of energy that has been building for asserting what we want to build and change as we climb our mountain into the future. Saturn is letting us know what limits we have, and Mars is letting us know what we need to let go of, so this looks like they’re working together in a death and transformation process along with Pluto in Capricorn.

December 18-21 (Exact December 20) Mercury in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces: We may encounter the push-pull of circumstances that require a lot of mental energy that is somewhat exhausting, or dreams that are disconcerting. It’s like the sulfur hot geyser underground that suddenly erupts and smells funky. You would rather be able to see through the steam and have a predictable time.

December 20 Venus in Aquarius: We are able to take a step back from the sober way we have been interacting and now we can make our relating a little cooler and more intellectual. We may feel more distant but also more ready to make commitments.

December 17-26 (exact December 22) Mars in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn: Mars and Pluto are trying to work in the same direction in a death and transformation process. This is about letting go in a transpersonal process. If you are at a place where you can see this, then you are likely not causing harm during this process.

December 22 Sun in Capricorn: The Sun enters the sign of work and planning, systems and governments. This is a big time of effort and looking at the great work of our lifetime. Whatever you care about—it is astrologically time to focus on that element of living. It doesn’t need to be what you get paid for, by the way. That may not be the “work” of your lifetime, or your calling. There needn’t be a link between a paycheck and what is valuable.

December 22-26 (Exact December 23) Sun in Capricorn square Chiron in Aries: We may allow the fact that we have been hurt and don’t believe in the worth of our dreams to belay our progress forward. That would be a shame, so let’s try to maintain our healing and focus on growth and moving through the ways we have been wounded by those who held a negative view of us in the past.

December 22-28 (exact December 24 Sun in Capricorn trine Uranus retrograde in Taurus: A time when our individual pursuits have a lot of support and we can feel quite stimulated to move forward independently. Creatively, we can depend on our own resources, plans, and two hands. A good time for hard work.

December 25 – 30 (exact December 27) Sun Conjunct Jupiter in Capricorn: Get down to business. Do quiet tasks. Build stuff. Bring your plans into the physical realm. Expand your dreams.

December 25-January 17 (exact January 6, 2020) Jupiter conjunct South Node in Capricorn and Oppose North Node in Cancer: One of the things to watch out for as Jupiter approaches Saturn and Pluto is a sense of lulling ourselves to sleep—that we don’t need to worry about being sensitive to the “other.” That the Cancerian, or sensitive, side of the zodiac, will take care of itself while we accomplish the great works of our lives.

Solar Eclipse – New Moon in Capricorn on December 26: The New Moon is conjunct Jupiter, so what you experience and feel and whatever you bring to life or build, will be multiplied at this time. It’s a good idea to be mindful about what you put energy toward this Christmas and on the day after Christmas. Doing something with your hands—making art, working on a cherished project, etc.—is a nice way to use the New Moon energy. Do and build something that is important to you.

December 27 (exact December 30) Sun conjunct South Node in Capricorn and Oppose North Node in Cancer: This brings energy for work while also asking the questions again about work-life balance.

December 28 Mercury in Capricorn: Now our thoughts move into the sign of Capricorn as well. We slow down and think about the big projects and goals of our lifetimes. What matters to us? Our minds can focus and think about how to structure the future.

December 29-30 Mercury in Capricorn square Chiron in Aries: Now we can change our minds and change our beliefs even if those around us don’t believe in us. Just let that be the fuel to believe in ourselves even more. Eventually, “if we build it, they will come.”

December 30-31 Mercury in Capricorn trine Uranus in Taurus: Our unique mind can provide insights that are truly beneficial and we can see clearly to how to bring forth some great new inventions or build some new projects that can develop into helpful things for the environment around us.

Continuing Influences

April 5 – July 14 / November 20, 2019 – May 8, 2020 (exact January 12, 2020) Saturn in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: The opportunity to deconstruct and reconstruct a new world.

April 18 – November 6 (exact May 20) North Node in Cancer Oppose Retrograde Saturn in Capricorn: Karma is likely changing the structure of your life right now. If not personally, look around at the environment. In both family and society, you are likely seeing things being reworked. (You may experience many past life memories or have experiences that are linked to past lives during these months.) The nature of nurture and what it means to be together as a culture is up for examination. We can’t keep focusing on profit to the detriment of families without experiencing consequences; the North Node tells us the highest path is to view the world from the stand point of mother. Mother earth comes to mind. Nurture what we have. These are karmic influences, so they are heavy and hard-hitting. I would pay close attention to how they impact your life, were I you. If all you do is work, work, work—you are in need of connecting to the North Node’s Cancer energy. The work mentality is the South Node and Saturn side of this aspect, which is the easy and automatic go-to for problem solving. Life and astrology are asking us to learn to solve problems a different way at this time. We need to find a new way to be together and to make the world “go.” That way is to take the perspective of how a family operates. A mother nurtures a child in her womb and then gives birth using nutrition, but she doesn’t feel she has to create the child all on her own or use her conscious mind to do it all. It is a natural process and she is in tune with all of nature while she goes through it. There is a lot to contemplate there. Once the child is born, what is the process of raising the child? It is done with a lot of love, using resources all around her. What are the options for sustaining a family system? Are we gathering and growing a garden? What is defined as “home?” On whom do we rely? What are our roles? What is good for our growth? What would primarily peaceful community (commerce?) in the 21st century look like? It’s effortless to let things go on the way it seems they have always gone on; to stop and think about virtuous and meaningful shifts is the work of a lifetime as opposed to the work of a paycheck or a contract. In this aspect we face the fears of losing everything we have gained in one fell moment. However, those fears are based on karma—probably past life power struggles we can’t release and present life tendrils linking us to feelings of power that are not the true power that comes from the flexibility of faith in our ability to adapt to a higher level of action and consciousness. Take the opportunity to take care of yourself.

October 27 – November 2 (Exact October 30) Mercury conjunct Venus in Scorpio: Time to shower others with verbal appreciation and loving words. Write love letters, give gifts, and in general make love not war. The heavy Mars aspects can be set aside in favor of this lovely conjunction as we head into November. A wonderful time for new friends and romance, including proposals, marriages, etc., during October. If you want to get married during this month, make it a Halloween wedding, with these two in a fixed sign. You can also send love to those who have passed over.

November 2019 Astrology Trends

November 1 Venus enters Sagittarius / November 1-5 (exact November 3) Venus in Sagittarius Trine Chiron in Aries: We have a month to consider our values prior to Venus entering its next sign, Capricorn. While in Sagittarius, Venus is in a Fire sign, where Venus can work on inspiration and exploration. The big ideas. The philosophical and/or spiritual nature of what is important and what we love. Let’s use November to consider what is important to us in our heart of hearts. December will bring us into manifestation, and it will become important that we not fall into a moral collapse when we realize things such as: we don’t have the money we thought we had, or we need more real-life resources than we have at hand to do the big things that Capricorn energy wants us to do. When reality hits our pocket books and our hearts, and Messrs. Right doesn’t show up with flowers and chocolates at our door, but instead shows up saying we should still be developing our health care routines and developing ourselves to be more attractive, what inner resources will we fall back on? When we need to do the big work of our lives and do it well but then realize we’re only in the planning stages, how will we sustain ourselves while we design our solutions? How in the world will we make sure we get into the right vehicle to travel to our destination? One that won’t break down? In other words, when the ideal and the real don’t yet connect, when there is so little trust in the world and in what we have built so far, what will be our response and our mindset? How will we take the Sagittarian fantasies and turn them into realities? Explore dreams and expand our hearts while keeping a firm grasp on the fact that it will take time to climb the mountain. We will need our backpacks full of supplies and we will need mentors, skills, and muscles. We will need our whole selves and need the concept of resting along the way so plan to build a little; rest a little. Sagittarius can conceive of play time and rest time. Capricorn may not be able to understand the requirement to rest and sleep unless they have been planned and managed as part of a design.

October 31/November 1-November 20 Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio: To go along with Venus, Mercury will take us into the depths of our psychological issues during November. Scorpio energy allows us the deep dive into what is motivating our mindset. Why not use this Mercury retrograde to practice mastery of a skill or mastery over something that has previously vexed you? Return something to a state of wholeness within you? Call yourself back to yourself. Possibility one: This is truly an opportunity to review our mindset and our habits that up to now we’ve taken for granted. A smart use of this would be to re-examine the automatic thoughts and behaviors of the self—instead of projecting them on the folks around you. Possibility two: this is a time when you can search the deepest realms to find and gather parts of yourself that feel dispersed and bring them back to integrate them into your human identity. You may become aware and awakened to how you operate within a community of beings—biologically what we call our microbiome / spiritually / the human community around you. Possibility three: You may return to a spiritual practice you have been unable to practice and find the grace and ability to reconnect with your deep spiritual connections, via Mercury in Scorpio, Uranus’s retrograde Taurus transit calling you to nature, and Neptune’s transit in Pisces. Allow yourself the heartbeat of spirit’s presence in your life and in your heart. Taurus energy brings you down-to-earth while Pisces brings Heaven to earth to surround you with grace and possibly miracles—can be the message of Mercury. It’s all fodder for working on, so you may choose any of your issues—from past lives, childhood, injuries, or optimization of your consciousness. Make sure you stay hydrated during November. Write letters to yourself, your family (but don’t send them unless they turn into letters of appreciation), and feel free to do plenty of crying and emoting in the privacy of your personal space. Writing is a nice way to discover truths you may be holding subconsciously. Meditate to clear out emotional blocks. Pay attention to your dreams. Let synchronicities wash over you. Life talks to you when you listen with your whole attention. That’s Mercury retrograde at its highest, doing its job.

November 1-6 (exact November 3) Sun in Scorpio Trine North Node in Cancer: Get energy from meditating and turning inward. Do some detective work on your consciousness and explore the depths of subjects you’re interested in. You might find research to be something that helps you feel good during this period, on a practical note. Especially historical research and/or looking more deeply into your family history or genealogy is favored.

November 2-9 (exact November 5) Mars in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn: You don’t really want to give into the urges toward aggression and power, do you? Turn away from that and use your diplomatic skills to focus the urges toward building something more lasting that will be of value to you in the long run. Remember that when you win and someone loses, everyone loses.

November 5-11 (exact November 8) Sun in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn:  Lots of energy is released during this time period to remind us about the importance of moral development. This could come through witnessing moral collapse or through seeing an example of moral development. Personally, you may also witness either one of these energies. I hope you’re reviewing and enjoying your own big ethical breakthrough. And with conviction and support!

November 6-12 (exact November 9) Sun in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces: Spiritual support is necessary to bring to life and see the embodiment of emotional maturity. Neptune supports and provides depth to the Sun’s passage through Scorpio. The psychologically deep work that appears to be transmitting in a wave in November is gently and yet deeply and mysteriously softened by Neptune’s presence and wisdom, if you listen with your heart.

November 6-15 (exact November 12) Mars in Libra sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius: Here is a jolt of cardinal energy to creative, humanitarian, and diplomatic activities—so these look like active and productive days. The Libra energy can be ambiguous, so I say use Jupiter’s expansiveness to let yourself go and get busy instead of questioning whether you should. This is air and fire—intellectual/imaginative rather than grounded. Also, it may be a time when people meet new people or meet old people again.

November 8-12 (exact November 10) Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn: Be willing to change your mind. Please stop getting stuck in the same old mindset, is mercury’s message to you. Pluto wants to set us free, but often can’t do it without transforming us with events that often flatten us. The other approach is conscious transformation—inviting in change and growth with a humble mindset.

November 10-13 (exact November 11) Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio conjunct Sun in Scorpio: Mercury and the Sun together in Scorpio means the time to review and consolidate what you think about how you’re feeling on an important topic has come. Whatever is in your heart, spend some time figuring out how to conceive of it, even if it’s something you think you’ve gone over ad nauseum. You probably need to reconsider it again. There may be new information coming in to you. You may need to take an intuitive approach now.

November 10-13 (exact November 11) Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn: Saturn may provide a re-evaluation of something having to do with our minds. If you need a mental re-evaluation of any kind, this is a good time to set it up. If you want to re-assess where you are at, there’s lots of support saying you will be re-vamping something or rebuilding or re-planning your approach. You can deepen and see new possibilities you’ve never thought about. That’s a great benefit. These new ideas may come from outside or from your own research or meditations.

November 10-17 (exact November 14) Sun in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn: Here is the aspect that says “trying harder with all your insight and all your heart will pay off.” The big plans and projects can add the ingredient of effort now—especially wise and targeted effort.

November 11-16 (exact November 14) Venus in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces: Use this energy to examine where you have a crisis of faith or to observe the crises of faith around you. You may resolve one or see how it could be resolved if you’re not directly involved and have some wisdom around these issues from living and breathing on the earth for a while. If you are experiencing tension between what you value and what another values in a relationship or in finances, do trust that it’s temporary and have patience. These may be the hard days of the month, money-wise.

November 12 Full Moon in Taurus: Moon trine Pluto closely and Saturn loosely in Capricorn, Moon oppose Sun/Mercury Conjunction in Scorpio: This full moon is closely linked with nature and animals and slowing down to experience the animal within. Use it to examine if you’re on the right path by checking in with your body and heart. This is the day to rest instead of overwork—in fact the “work” of this day would be to follow your senses as your guide. Your intuition. Do you need rest? A nutritious meal? To snuggle? A walk among the trees to smell the pines? Is it snowing or raining? Do you need to “snuggle” with nature? Take that drive while the sun is out. Ignore the phone and play hooky. Let go into the abandon of Gaia as she tells you the secrets to opening your heart to healing. Go to the ocean if the sea is calling to you. Make your heart as happy as you can to replenish yourself. Life will thank you.

November 10-18 (exact November 14) Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces: Your connection to the divine is activated and opened up so you have direct access to some mighty psychic messages, should you choose to notice and call upon them. Angels are standing by on the line, waiting to take your order—LOL!

November 16-25 (never exact as Mercury is retrograde and then turns direct on November 20 at 11 degrees and North Node sits at 10 degrees) Mercury in Scorpio trine North Node in Cancer: When fate asks you to view the world as family, we are talking about relationships. Viewing the world in terms of relationships instead of how you can use and consume and trash the world around you. It’s a shift to seeing things as developing spirals—circles with no end—instead of starting and stopping processes—dots and lines. The North Node in Cancer says it’s time to shift our attention to relating to one another instead of consuming one another. You can do it when you pay attention.

November 19 Mars in Scorpio: Now, the planet of direct action follows Mercury in Scorpio. It’s time to make some major changes—to put muscle behind our dreams and insights. Where previously, we have thought a lot about what’s important to us and we have laid a groundwork, Mars in Scorpio engages the people and places around us to begin to shift our lives. Scorpio energy provides quick transformations—and there is not another sign in the zodiac that does this. Scorpio is the energy of the phoenix at its highest expression. This means, Mars in Scorpio allows us to finish up the things that need to end in our lives and from the fire of these endings; begin anew and rise into the sky as a new creature. Allow yourself to let go into the phoenix fire and begin anew during the next few months. Letting go is much easier typed than done. The fire burns.

November 20 Mercury stations and turns direct. (See above Mercury Retrograde text on November 1).

November 19-29 (exact November 24) Mars in Scorpio oppose Uranus retrograde in Taurus: Immediately upon entering Scorpio, Mars will activate the question to Uranus in Taurus of why so simple? The answers in our lives will likely look too obvious and simple. It may have been right in front of us all along. It will be important to allow yourself to be surprised by honoring the body’s wisdom and by slowing down—or I think Uranus in Taurus could provide surprises from outside circumstances to slow down Mars in Scorpio. Allow oneself to integrate the Uranus in Taurus energy softly and when you are diving deeply into Mars in Scorpio activities… Please understand that there will be nothing done without doing it from a healthy and comfortable place, as prescribed by Taurus. Wherever Taurus is in your chart, this needs to be integrated into your new Mars endeavors.

(Do you need your chart run and interpreted to find out which house Mars and Uranus are in for you, personally? I can help you with this. Send me a message at domikajama@gmail.com. During November and December, I will give you a special Newsletter Astrology discount reading–$60 for 45 minutes. My holiday gift! You can also buy gift cards for 45-minute astrology chart readings for friends and family for 2020 at this price through Christmas Eve.)

November 22 Sun in Sagittarius: The Sun enters Sagittarius and we begin to turn toward expansiveness. How will we grow and journey and, furthermore, help others, during then next month? Is it any wonder the holidays fall during the sign of “too much?” Too much food, wine, merriment, spending, or anything? On the other hand, who can resist (not me for sure) the way a Sagittarian holds space (lots of space—an enormous amount of space) for you when you’re needing room to grow or cry or vent or simply be yourself? Who else allows you to express your full self like a Sagittarius friend? Who else allows you to be comfortable, so comfortable? Like there is room for you in their life? Like it’s going to be okay in the end? Like it’s an adventure and we have time to live out the plot? Like the air in the room is moving in a cool breeze but at a good pace, in a way that you can breathe. This is no tornado or storm but a cool Summer day… That’s how Sagittarius feels. We move from Psychology to philosophy; Scorpio to Sagittarius; the therapy room to the university. The sign of the Socratic method, of Plato and Tao and Nietzsche. Sagittarius certainly seeks meaning and freedom.

November 22-26 (exact November 24) Sun in Sagittarius trine Chiron in Aries: What meaning is to be made out of wisdom and pain from your life? Find the growth from the insights you have gained, and it will give you energy to move forward.

November 21-26 (exact November 25) Venus conjunct Jupiter in Sagittarius: Right before a New Moon and a new phase emotionally, this aspect is a big boost of energy to consolidate the end of the Venus in Sagittarius transit that helps us to wrap up our process of expanding what we value and what we are inspired to bring into right relationship as we begin the work of making it so when Venus moves into Capricorn.

November 26 New Moon in Sagittarius: New Moon & Sun trine Chiron in Aries, semi-square Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, quincunx retrograde Uranus in Taurus:  This New Moon allows us to see how we may need to adjust ourselves to be who we want to be to usher in a new age in our lives. It allows us to understand that we need to let go of what has transpired in the past and make sure we are attaching ourselves to the right goals and projects NOW to create the future we want to build for ourselves. That means making choices. Choices inevitably narrow our worlds, because they exclude other possibilities.

November 26 Venus in Capricorn: This is the time frame for you to put commitment into relationships that you value. Conversely, the relationship you value may be the one you have with yourself and you may feel most like being alone during the holiday season because you are focused on a big project or the big work of your life at this time. Socializing and parties may have been better suited for October and November and you may find yourself seeing the beauty of effortful striving in December. Make the holidays about being and doing things together instead of about things and I think Venus in Capricorn will bless your relationships. You my find this to be a unique holiday season that strengthens the bonds that are dear to your heart, because of this Venus in Capricorn influence, overall. Remember that the Moon rules Cancer, the sign opposite Capricorn, and include children and nurturing in your plans by thinking of games and activities that can help them build social, cognitive and physical skills, because play is the work of children.

November 26-30 (exact November 27) Venus in Capricorn square retrograde Chiron in Aries: As Venus heads into Capricorn, the tension that will arise will likely be that there seems to be a lot of work to do. Someone (maybe your inner critical voice from childhood authorities) will be saying you should work harder and harder, but that only leads to collapse. Collapse of your body, your spirit, and your mind/emotions. Aries energy is the warrior and thinks there is something to battle and breakthrough. However, the breakthrough often happens in the small, quiet moments instead of the loud calls to battle action.

November 26-December 1 (exact November 28) Venus in Capricorn trine retrograde Uranus in Taurus: Sometimes doing nothing is doing a lot. We can learn through just being. If you tune in to the energy in nature and the energy of your own body to observe what you are and what you want, you may get a lot further than all the busy work in the world. If you’re in the U.S. this Thanksgiving, allow yourself to rest as deeply as possible, and take a true retreat. Enjoy healthy foods and the many good smells emanating from the environment. Make a little nest of heaven on earth.

Continuing Influences

April 5 – July 14 / November 20, 2019 – May 8, 2020 (exact January 12, 2020) Saturn in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: The opportunity to deconstruct and reconstruct a new world.

April 30 – October 3 (Exact June 16) Neptune in Pisces Trine North Node in Cancer: The divine feminine is a study in depth of receiving rather than pushing forward. Learning to receive and accept; forgive and rely on intuition—these are very different approaches than our cultural indoctrination. Taking a lot of time to learn and experience this approach during the Summer would make a better world, without a doubt, says Astrology.

Uranus usually brings anxiety and Uranus rules electricity, lightning, all your brilliance, and your highest-minded activity. Fast-moving Uranus and slowest-moving sign Taurus are together for about 7 years so it will be interesting to see how they integrate together. It is the energy of the moment of lightning striking the earth.

August 30 – October 7 (exact September 21) Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune Retrograde in Pisces (and will happen again when Neptune turns direct late in the year!): There is tension between your faith in yourself and your need to retreat. Or, you may be overconfident in pushing something forward when perhaps the wisest course would be to relax and let it come to you. Try that a little and wait and see. Try love and receiving and see if that’s bringing you forward. Maybe a two-fold approach of some faith and effort of expansion–plus some faith in the angels and transcendence and allowing–is the highest and best path. In any case, approach each day with a healthy dose of humility at this time. And a willingness to pick up whatever tools are necessary when you are given the green light to do so.

October 2019 Astrology Trends

September 28 – October 3 (Exact September 30) Venus in Libra square Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn: Tension may exist in relationships where you have to let go of something. Looking at where you have been holding on in a way that feels like it affects your harmony and/or power. Take a look at your (especially repeated) addictions, controlling tendencies, compulsions, biases, and ways of manipulating the world to your satisfaction. Try creative new approaches to resolve disharmonies and achieve harmony within and without. Pluto is about karma and fate. It won’t let you get around its date with destiny. Might as well try easier.

October 3 Pluto stations and then turns direct in Capricorn: Pluto direct means that instead of reflecting on those places of letting go and transformation, we begin to actively work on letting go and doing the things we need to do to respond to Pluto’s effects on our lives. The positive part to this is that action replaces fear.

October 3 – 9 (Exact October 6) Sun in Libra square North Node in Cancer: Another tension aspect pointing to relational harmony challenges. Libra loves harmony and Cancer loves security. The North Node would like the family to be secure, and Libra would like to explore the core of partnership through methods such as diplomacy. However, there is tension between the two. They can’t find a way to work together. This can also be the difference between the public and private spheres, such as not being able to focus on family matters because you have to spend so much time in a public or professional role; or vice versa.

October 2 Mercury enters Scorpio: The psychologist and spiritual seeker emerge in our minds. This is the time to return to the deepest connection with life and spirit. Scorpio is the sign that asks us to get honest and explore the depths/transcend to the heights all at once. Instead of looking at the cover, you’re going to need to read the book, the references, and think about writing one of your own.

October 3 Mars enters Libra: An aggressive bid for harmony and human rights. Lots of activity in the arts and humanities. Justice. Balancing of the scales. Intellectual and relational fairness is the fight before us. The warrior wants people to partner in fair and just ways. You can use your creative talents to their fullest now. You can take an active role in relationships. Diplomacy matters.

October 3-9 (Exact October 7) Mercury in Scorpio Oppose Retrograde Uranus in Taurus: This can be a time of brilliance or a time of anxious energy. Try to keep from speaking before you think. When you feel your mind racing, if you do with the earth and water energies, try mindfulness to keep yourself balanced and connected to the Scorpio depths and the Taurus growth potentials. This is a mind and the insight channels tuned to the earth and the ocean, so—Planet Earth in HD?

October 3 – 15 (Exact October 9) Mars in Libra Oppose Retrograde Chiron in Aries: You may find yourself standing up for basic human rights or defending another who has been treated unfairly. It hurts you to see others harmed or to witness a situation you find disturbing in some manner. You’re formulating your ideas on what is just and unjust; whether the action affects you directly or you are the witness. Your thoughts turn toward ideals of human relations in some way, and it doesn’t need to be on the level of the media—this can be personal situation—in your family, with your partner, with a friend, coworker, and in your personal community.

October 5 – 11 (Exact October 8) Sun in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn: Self-regulation required, unusual push to achieve, responsibilities presented as challenges NOW! Work on your work ethic. Heavy feelings will be fleeting. The Saturn quiz is of your patience and dedication.

October 9 Venus enters Scorpio: Our relationships are going to be focused on what is under the surface. What resources are those around us working with? We may have many psychic impressions and insights about others as the fixed water sign gives us eyes to see beneath the skin and into the blood works of those we care for. Urge those around you to rest and let their hearts be their guide. Why not rest, yourself, as much as possible? Knowing that part of rest is attending to healthy habits such as eating well, exercising, and breathing deeply.

October 10 – 14 (Exact October 12) Mercury in Scorpio trine North Node in Cancer: If you choose to notice the easy energy around you, your mental chatter lines up with the sense that the world is your family. You can find your voice in Mother Earth, Father Sky, your community. Draw from all allies now to say what you need to say. Your words are powerful and meaningful if you take advantage of their support.

October 13 Full Moon in Aries: Get thee to the gym or out of doors for this Full moon in Aries. Nature would be great with the Uranus/Venus opposition. With Mars in Scorpio, if you can go to the water, all the better. Enjoy your body and celebrate your inner pioneer. Reflect on the things you have started this year. Get your blood moving, in your body, heart, and spirit.

October 10 – 15 (Exact October 13) Venus in Scorpio oppose Retrograde Uranus in Taurus: The 1960s protest song ‘For What It’s Worth’  by Buffalo Springfield goes “There’s something happening here / What it is ain’t exactly clear / There’s a man with a gun over there / Telling me I got to beware / I think it’s time we stop, children, what’s that sound / Everybody look what’s going down…” Uranus in Taurus is the rebel telling us to STOP. Venus in Scorpio wants to integrate our relationships, creative abilities, and resources into a sense of wholeness that allows for something to change us through getting together. Opposition aspects can be about taking sides or about finding the middle point and balancing—constantly balancing… Like how taking a step is using two legs. You can’t walk with one leg. You can’t clap with one hand.

October 10 – 16 (Exact October 13) Sun in Libra sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius: You’re going to get a boost of support for what you’re focusing on in relationships and so I hope you’re focusing on something positive.

October 11 – 17 (Exact October 14) Sun in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn: Karma is activated with Pluto in the mix, and with a stress aspect to the Sun in Libra, your decisions and actions are on display to, basically, the entire universe. You may be experiencing healing or facing your deep wounds and fears. What a time for virtuous causes and effects. If things are difficult, don’t take it too personally as it is karma burning off. You can let go of things and also build new and better futures at this time. Make sure to think of others and work in partnership with, basically, the entire universe.

October 12 – 17 (Exact October 14) Mercury in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn: The mind can see the dynamics afoot. The ability to penetrate what’s beneath the surface comes about with Mercury in Scorpio, and your heart understands as much as your brain. Feel your way through and rest when you get weary. However, Saturn helps you translate what you learn and cements it into long-term wisdom.

October 17 – 22 (Exact October 19) Mercury in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn: This is another aspect that helps you gain wholehearted wisdom at this juncture that enables you to build new concepts that could leave you almost like you’re renewed or a new, transformed person after you go through Mercury in Scorpio. Change is positive here. You’re learning lots through joyful transformation instead of pain.

October 13 – 18 (Exact October 15) Mercury in Scorpio trine Retrograde Neptune in Pisces: Your conceptions about your psychological state, your emotional wellness. You can connect it to the universal sense of oneness if you try. How conscious can you get during the Mercury in Scorpio transit time?

October 19 – 24 (Exact October 20) Venus in Scorpio trine North Node in Cancer: Fate and destiny want us to use our relationships as support for moving forward together at this time in life. The time is right to make a heartfelt journey as a group. Offering others safety and security is something that will pay off in dividends throughout the ages to come. Can you think beyond your lifetime to the generations to come? Send messages of love and support however you can—on the macro level to groups of people, or on the micro level to those in your personal circle.

October 18 – 22 (Exact October 20) Venus in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn: The sextile is an active supportive energy that means you don’t have to do anything to have positive events occur around you, while the trine means you need to actively support the supportive and positive energy. This sextile means that the time has come for concrete restoration and recovery, perhaps via the arts, perhaps in the realm of Saturnian inspiration of a spiritual call to action. (Think Mother Theresa.)

October 19 – 24 (Exact October 21) Venus in Scorpio trine Retrograde Neptune in Pisces: Neptune adds the higher octave to Venus’s call to relax, so you can relax with the angels and bodhisattvas and ancestors all around you if you merely try to sense it. Call upon spiritual allies for your best and brightest comfort.

October 19 – 26 (Exact October 22) Mars in Libra square North Node in Cancer: Oh no, Mars wants us to fight for our family, for our sense of human rights, and for the general sense that justice prevail. Sorry—get to it. There’s a bit of everything in the air—Venus says relax but Mars will still ask you to stand up when you see injustices occur.

October 23 Sun enters Scorpio: Scorpio the detective. What mysteries do you have to solve? Scorpio the psychologist. What emotional issues do you wish to make progress on? Scorpio the scorpion / eagle / phoenix. What shamanistic journey are you taking? Scorpio the powerful. How are you using your ability to impact others? (We all have Scorpio somewhere in our Astrological chart. Even if you have no planets in Scorpio, these transiting planets are passing through a house in your birth chart right now, calling forth and triggering events in your life based upon that house.)

October 22 – 27 (Exact October 25) Venus in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn: Venus provides a rest and respite time from Pluto’s total transformation. It’s a time to fantasize and create. To take the Capricornian need to create a whole new world government and turn it into a story. (Think George Lucas and Star Wars.)

October 23 – October 31 (Exact October 27) Mars in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn: Saturn and the inner warrior are having a different conversation than Saturn and the inner artist/lover. Saturn wants the warrior to stay activated and alert for when social injustice occurs. Use your strengths where you are able, and you will pass Saturn’s test with flying colors.

October 28 New Moon in Scorpio: The New Moon in Scorpio Opposes Uranus in Taurus. The phoenix myth is the myth of Scorpio in one of its highest expressions. For this New Moon, what can you let burn up and die, so that you can have the part of you emerge as the phoenix out of the ashes? How can we deal with the fear of death and the faith of rebirth? With the Sun and Moon together, fire is part of the New Moon element. Scorpio is a powerful and elemental energy.

October 25 – 31 (Exact October 28) Sun in Scorpio oppose Retrograde Uranus in Taurus: The Sun, or our pure and core energy of “self” now follows Mercury and Venus in opposition to Uranus. It’s a time to pause from the place of real detective work on ourselves, with Uranus in Taurus asking us to stop and grow in ways we can’t predict. When we are at ocean depth, beneath the soil in a seed pod, what questions should we be asking of ourselves? We can emerge from this place having done some psychological growth and integration work, should we lay aside our anxiety or depression, and instead allow ourselves to go deeply into the idea of being planted anew at this time, with the New Moon in Scorpio as our guide. Uranus generally has a higher message if we listen and download it into our consciousness, about freeing ourselves from limits.

October 24 – 31 (Exact October 27) Mars in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn: The Dancing Warrior (Mars in Libra) conflicts with the Teacher of Infrastructure (Saturn in Capricorn). One wants you to feel the music and create pioneering choreography in order to advance society. The other wants to stop everything in order to understand the needs of existing systems and design solutions to fill in the gaps. How will they deal with tension between them? How will they even speak in the same language to one another?

October 27 – November 2 (Exact October 30) Mercury conjunct Venus in Scorpio: Time to shower others with verbal appreciation and loving words. Write love letters, give gifts, and in general make love not war. The heavy Mars aspects can be set aside in favor of this lovely conjunction as we head into November. A wonderful time for new friends and romance, including proposals, marriages, etc., during October. If you want to get married during this month, make it a Halloween wedding, with these two in a fixed sign. You can also send love to those who have passed over.

May 10 – September 11 (exact June 8, August 27) Jupiter quincunx North Node: There is a greater focus on how to put together the dilemma of expanding our horizons and flexible selfhood mixed with finding emotional security and sense of belongingness and family or “home.”

Uranus usually brings anxiety and Uranus rules electricity, lightning, all your brilliance, and your highest-minded activity. Fast-moving Uranus and slowest-moving Taurus are together for about 7 years so it will be interesting to see how they integrate together. It is the energy of the moment of lightning striking the earth.

August 27-September 3 (exact August 30) Sun in Virgo trine Uranus Retrograde in Taurus: You may experience either a brilliant amount of energy to help you clear something major that you previously couldn’t see the answer to, or you may, on the flip side, experience a stunning lethargy and need a break. Either way, is okay. Let Uranus in Taurus lead the way. The Virgo energy can help you organize something and Uranus is telling us it’s something larger than usual.

August 28-September 10 (exact September 2) Sun in Virgo conjunct Mars in Virgo: Your vital life force and your behavior and body align so that you can attend to the daily needs of either your health or your habits. Something in your daily routine needs your detailed attention and energy.

September 2019 Astrology Trends

August 30 – October 7 (exact September 21) Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune Retrograde in Pisces (and will happen again when Neptune turns direct late in the year!): There is tension between your faith in yourself and your need to retreat. Or, you may be overconfident in pushing something forward when the wisest course would be to relax and let it come to you. Try a little and wait and see. Try love and receiving and see if that’s bringing you forward. Maybe a two-fold approach of some faith and effort of expansion plus some faith in the angels and transcendence and allowing is the highest and best path. In any case, approach each day with a healthy dose of humility at this time. And a willingness to pick up whatever tools are necessary when you are given the green light to do so.

—Overall Comments on September—

The personal planets are in a Virgo stellum during the first half of September. There are various T-Square aspect patterns formed. The personal planets are moving (I might say dancing) together and they are all direct—meaning not retrograde. That means their influence is unmuted and strong. Their message is clear as a bell. It is time to take our many perspectives (Sun / Moon / Venus / Mercury / Mars in Virgo) and form a choir of angels (Neptune in Pisces). It is time to allow ourselves new perspectives (Uranus moving from Aries to Taurus this past year); to allow the harvest to be plucked; to allow ourselves to manifest what has laid dormant within for so long. Seeds were sown and blossoms were nurtured. Now is the time to pick the fruits.

In late Summer, the heat can be oppressive. The weather has not yet changed but we can feel the change approaching (Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn). In the garden, colors of the fruits are changing and the vines are heavy with the need for the next phase to occur. The plants are inviting the humans to move in and take their meals. (Neptune in Pisces trine North Node in Cancer. Venus in Virgo then moving into Libra in late September)

Perspective # 1: In fact, if you were to take the plant’s perspective instead of the human perspective (Mercury in Virgo trine Uranus in Taurus), those fruits that we eat are the way to propagate out into the world. When we eat and digest the fruits, their seeds get carried to new places and the winds transport the seeds to brand new soils—brand new areas—and a lucky few seeds may be planted in entirely new places. This then makes the plant species stronger as a whole (Sun-Mercury-Venus-Mars in Virgo trine Saturn in Capricorn).

What we view as the end of our human consumption cycle—pooping out the remains of some fruit or even throwing out the seeds—is opportunity for new growth to the plant species. Plant globalism of a kind. (Sun-Mercury-Venus-Mars in Virgo trine Pluto in Capricorn) The kind of linear thinking that views the plant as a linear resource for us instead of a partner in an ever-going circular and related life process is not only limited—it contains a piece of blindness. (Saturn oppose North Node in Cancer)

The edible and/or beautiful plant, flower or tree romances us with our own appetites during its life development (Venus in Virgo sextile Neptune in Pisces and conjunct Mars in Virgo). We, in turn, nurture, protect, and provide plant food and plant drink, transportation for its seeds, and consideration of its many needs (Venus conjunct Mars and Mercury and Sun in Virgo). It would be difficult to assign any hierarchy to which species provides better service to the other or to provide any sense of hierarchy/importance (Mars and Mercury and Venus and Sun in Virgo trine Pluto in Capricorn). We are simply related. (Saturn oppose North Node in Cancer)

Here is perspective number 2: Life is about to deliver to you exactly what you deserve. That means it’s time to clear up your karma if you have any tendrils from last month. Hey, if you did a pretty good job with the Saturn call-to-action in Mid-August—you can breathe a sigh of relief and simply do your best during September to keep up with circumstances. Don’t sweat it if things don’t feel good. You are simply cleaning out your karmic wounds—like cleaning out a scrape. You will be done with the stinging and will not be infected because you paid attention and you got the healing you needed attended to. Passive doesn’t appear to even be an option! LOL. (Full Moon mid-month & its many related aspects)

Here is perspective number 3: the personal planets are asking you to clarify the thing beneath the things.

I will tell you a story. This morning, I was so concerned because my sweetie woke after a nightmare and being bombarded with posts about politics that triggered him. He ended up more depressed than I have ever seen him. A grief reaction that we will uncover and explore over time. Like many of us, he feels helpless in the face of messages designed to spread hatred and fear. Simultaneously, I have seven thousand to-do items on my tasks list today, and each day it seems life presents me with obstacles that place me further and further behind. I keep saying, “today is the day I’m going to get it ALL done! I swear!” Life laughs at me. Laughs in my face.

Many things are out of my control. Including a nagging physical virus I can’t shake and timelines and needs from other people that are impossible to defer (see perspective #2—I’m not immune.) I consciously decided after meditating for about ten minutes that love of the person I am closest to is more important than anything else. It’s what all the other activity is for, fundamentally. I am trying to survive and make money to pay the bills so I can live and love a little longer.

I want to do all these things—write a book, help some people while I am still kicking and breathing—so I can love. I want love to spread like the virus my body is fighting. Why wouldn’t I go directly to the opportunity to love and support my sweetheart and let everything else go? That is more important than any achievement or any agenda I think I hold personally. Love is the thing beneath the things.

Then I went to the store to get flowers because I decided to take him on a walk and go visit the memorial site of his son who has passed to the next life. It’s in the sunshine, it provides a way to feel grief consciously. Maybe the body will release a few tears. There is a mountain and some good scents involved.

As I came out of the store, a lovely man in his sixties stopped by my cart and said, “Can I help you?”

“No, I got this,” I answered with a smile. I walk with a cane so it’s not too unusual for people to ask to help me load up things at our local markets.

He paused.

“I don’t know why,” He said, “but I love to help people. My whole life. It’s my nature. It gives me a lot of meaning. It’s what I love to do and I feel like I’m supposed to do it.”

I stopped and really looked at him.

“That makes a lot of sense. Maybe that’s your destiny. Thank you very much.” I said. We smiled and he walked on.

Then I got all the bags and the flowers, but two water packs were still in the cart. The young worker was taking the cart for me but saw the water in it.

“Can I help you with these?” He asked.

I peeked from my back car door.

“Sure!” I said and accepted his carrying them around to me. He put them on the back seat and I realized life was having a little conversation there with me.

As I drove home, I found that love is another way to get things done indirectly. I can have some help and I don’t have to be doing it all myself. I can help others and humbly be part of a divine flow of effort happening all around me. I don’t need to see how it’s all going to get done. I don’t need to feel like things are “under control.”

Apparently, the divine masculine will simply show up to help me when it’s time and I don’t even need to know them! And, I will show up to help when I am called—even if I had another agenda—because I am the divine feminine—not merely a human doing. But a human being, and being divine all the time.

You are, too.

Is love your thing beneath the things—or is it curiosity, freedom, creativity, discovery, joy, advocacy, relating and translating, family, faith, manifestation, advocacy, adventure, service, inspiration… How would you characterize what you’re directly doing the things for?

August 30 – September 4 (exact September 1) Venus in Virgo trine Saturn Retrograde in Capricorn: Open your eyes and try to receive some of the beauty in this world. Try not to let it pass by unappreciated. One thing about beauty—it LOVES to be seen! LOL!

August 31 – September 2 (exact September 1) Mercury in Virgo trine Uranus Retrograde in Taurus: Let the big thoughts think themselves through you.

August 30 – September 4 (exact September 1) Venus in Virgo sextile North Node in Cancer: Our soul family is energized to meet up with us on these days. Look out for some folks who are part and parcel of your destiny! Maybe you already know them and it will be nice to make contact with them and give them a big hug again! Maybe you see them every day! Allow them to soothe you. Appreciate them. Let them appreciate you.

September 1-5 (exact September 2) Venus in Virgo square Jupiter in Sagittarius: Look for your allies and friends—and expand upon them if you can. Religion, groups, psychotherapy, inspirational heroes. Time to swallow your pride (a tasty snack instead of a destination?) instead of fall on your sword.

August 28-September 10 (exact September 2) Sun in Virgo conjunct Mars in Virgo: You are organizing. Something needs to be finished. Lots of power here to finish it, or at least make significant progress.

September 1-6 (exact September 3) Mercury in Virgo conjunct Mars in Virgo: You have support to work on a serious project that you have been growing, developing, nurturing. Keep it going!

August 31 – September 7 (exact September 3) Mercury in Virgo conjunct Sun in Virgo: Your mind is on fire! Allow the sun to help you burn through your organizational and creative task list.

September 1-6 (exact September 4) Venus in Virgo oppose Neptune Retrograde in Pisces: Earth. Heaven. Where do you wish for your consciousness to reside? Sigh. On a serious note, stay away from setting yourself up for failure via overindulgence or failing at making healthy choices. “You don’t know the power of the dark side, Luke…” –Darth Vader

September 4-7 (exact September 5) Mercury in Virgo trine Saturn Retrograde in Capricorn: You may feel you’re a bit restricted from having fun and life is a lot of hard work. Things could seem too realistic, but it is a blessing in disguise. Just keep your nose to the grindstone. There will be rewards later.

September 3-7 (exact September 5) Mercury in Virgo sextile North Node in Cancer: You can feel energized by noting how you’re part of a much larger family of people working toward a common good.

September 4-9 (exact September 6) Sun in Virgo trine Saturn Retrograde in Capricorn: More astrological evidence that effort is needed to push forth and bring to life something amazing. Keep at it. You’re almost there! Not everyone reaches their goals, so the fact that you’re even trying is amazing.

September 4-9 (exact September 6) Venus in Virgo trine Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn: At times like this, it’s possible life can provide allies and relationships to situate us in ways we can’t see or predict in order to help us cement the powerful potential in our lives. Keep the faith, humble souls! And keep on working toward your destiny. Pluto has your back. Nothing to do here but watch it happen and appreciate when it does.

September 5-7 (exact September 6) Mercury in Virgo square Jupiter in Sagittarius and the Moon in Sagittarius together: Sometimes good fortune appears in the clothes of a crisis. Learn to recognize the gift that looks like a puddle of mud.

September 3-10 (exact September 7) Sun in Virgo sextile North Node in Cancer: You will possibly meet people who help you and support you tremendously.

September 4-12 (exact September 8) Mars in Virgo trine Saturn Retrograde in Capricorn: It becomes very important to look at what is realistic and take the actions necessary to narrow your focus to what is critical for physical survival. Pull back and see what is required and not what would be nice to have, in other words, on the tangible level.

September 5-8 (exact September 7) Mercury in Virgo oppose Neptune Retrograde in Pisces: The Virgo/Pisces axis is about reflecting and balancing out effort and organization with faith and transcendence. You need both in life. Find the midpoint and teeter there.

September 5-11 (exact September 8) Sun in Virgo square Jupiter in Sagittarius: There is some part of our being that is due for healing. It likely feels oppressive, but that’s only a trick of the eye. The opportunity is that we are called to use hope, luck, faith in ourselves and others, and confidence in order to heal and regenerate. The mistake would be over-confidence and succumbing to our arrogance or pride.

September 7-10 (exact September 8) Mercury in Virgo trine Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn: Evolution requires us as individuals but it also requires something beyond us to set the circumstances into place. Feeling that click into place is like putting the last puzzle piece into a 1000 piece puzzle that you have laid out for weeks on your big table. Did you ever think you would see the whole picture come together?

September 5-14 (exact September 9) Mars in Virgo sextile North Node in Cancer: There is a burst of emotional support for family and friends. It is a great time to be generous with your acceptance and approval of others. Let them know you appreciate them through actions and words.

September 7-13 (exact September 10) Sun in Virgo oppose Neptune Retrograde in Pisces: Stay away from overindulgence and isolationism. Virgo energy requires health and optimism. It does a body good!

September 8-19 (exact September 11) Mars in Virgo square Jupiter in Sagittarius: Make sure to keep a steady and alert positivity afire. Keep away from depression, over-responsibility, and passivity in favor of a set of great and healthy habits you can rely upon that you’ve developed over the years. If they’re still being developed, learn more about how to conduct a balanced day and then practice.

September 14 Full Moon 21 degrees Pisces: There is a T-Square with Jupiter forming the tip of the arrow, the Moon and Neptune on one side, and Mars, Mercury, the Sun, and Venus on the other. What a busy Full Moon! Also, there is a sextile to Pluto that allows for an energetic boost to provide support to the idea that this Full Moon can transform your life for better or worse. So, put on your tennis shoes because it’s a doozy! Use all your best Virgoan skill in the days leading up to and after the Full Moon to do your best to take care of yourself and your life to get things done, take care of your health, and in general “do good.” I believe this Full Moon will bring to you whatever you bring to it. Bring love, honor, all your best intentions. You will get that back X1000. That’s how life works.

September 7-13 (exact September 13) Mercury in Virgo conjunct Venus in Virgo: Mind and heart together in Virgo are studying the fusion of growth, health, healing, and the element of earth. Virgo is a sign that seeks clarity and manifestation.

September 14 Mercury enters Libra just after midnight MDT: Mercury in Libra is a time of social behaviors and a tendency for people to wish for social harmony. People may talk about diplomacy and equality, get fairly intellectual in their approach, and care a lot about what is fair or unfair. It’s possible to find yourself off on a tangent or getting critical before you know it. A lot of thinking occurs. It can be hard to stay centered on oneself.

September 14 Venus enters Libra: Venus is quite at home in Libra. Libra is one of the signs Venus rules. Harmony, art, relationships, diplomacy. Libra is chock full of beauty and magic for the Fall season. Get out the best of your wardrobe. Get ready to charm your fellow human beings. Get ready to look good and feel good, with great company and relaxing activities. It’s Venus in Libra time!

September 14-19 (Separating aspect never exact) Mercury conjunct Venus in Libra: Mind and heart are looking for harmony, relating, beauty, the quality and element of air, and partnership as they begin their journey through Libra.

September 9-18 (exact September 14) Mars in Virgo oppose Neptune Retrograde in Pisces: After a busy start to the month, you begin to feel the pull to relax more. You will need to balance opposites—the personal and spiritual; the doing and the being; etc. It’s time to find a synthesis between things such as your aggressive feelings and your wish to retreat. Be kind to yourself and others and practice reflection. Especially avoid internalizing your aggression via addictive behavior or exploding at others. When these responses are ignited, stop and observe what triggered them before they leak out into a relationship. Use Mars’s courage and Neptune’s transcendence instead of the war-god and drowning archetypes.

September 14-18 (exact September 16) Mercury in Libra oppose Chiron Retrograde in Aries: Your new mental model may be at odds with your old mental models. If you’re resisting the new, mature model of reality, feeling stuck or critical of yourself or another, maybe try talking less (even in your own head). Let yourself calm down and then work on flexibility—emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. Learning starts with knowing that we don’t know. There’s a lot we don’t know!

September 15-20 (exact September 17) Venus in Libra oppose Chiron Retrograde in Aries: Your personal magnetism may find itself at odds with your personal feelings of aggression. Who are you, anyway? What others see and what you feel authentically may need to come into alignment and harmonize. And you may want both harmony and feel a great desire for the truth to be told, and the truth hurts, you say! I think you should go to the gym every day to work this one out. It’s too tumultuous to put into words. “Don’t worry; be happy.”

September 18 Saturn in Capricorn stations direct and turns around from retrograde. Conjunct South Node / oppose NN on September 15 at ~1:30 PM MDT: What a time to think about how the world is doing on its karma. How are you connected to past lives? This is a powerful time to do a past life regression because Saturn will be fused with the South Node of the Moon.

September 14-25 (exact September 19) Mars in Virgo trine Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn: If you are adept with Mars energy, this is a time when Pluto can help you make breakthroughs. Evolution can actively be sought through self-empowerment. However, the low side of any Mars-Pluto interaction is aggression and anger. As long as you sidestep your own ego and self-aggrandizement, more power to you! Both are in earth signs and that can mean bringing something concrete and new into being.

September 20-24 (exact September 22) Mercury in Libra square Moon & North Node in Cancer: You may find you are experiencing thought through your emotions and/or as a result of experiences in relationships or conversations. Try to nurture others and be kind to yourself and others.

September 20-24 (exact September 22) Mercury in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn: Oh, how we wish we knew the refrain by heart, during Mercury in Libra, and could sing along to the beat without having to learn new words and a whole new song every three minutes. Then Saturn comes along in a stressful aspect and it’s not the song we were expecting at all. We were whistling and now it’s a didgeridoo song. Where in the world do I get a digeridoo?

September 23 Sun in Libra: Libra seeks to relate and to create. The Sun in Libra wants to experience partnership to the point of marriage. People are concerned with justice, beauty, what is nice and lovely, and being nice.

September 22-27 (exact September 24) Mercury in Libra sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius: The mind can find lots of opportunities for expansion and you may feel inspired, too!

September 22-27 (exact September 25) Venus in Libra square North Node in Cancer: There is friction that tries to teach you that sometimes when people annoy you, they are actually helping you in some way. Look for the silver lining?

September 22-27 (exact September 25) Venus in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn: We all need to learn patience in regard to other people. That is what this aspect is teaching us.

September 23-29 (exact September 26) Sun in Libra oppose Chiron Retrograde in Aries: Tension to balance between your emerging identity and your old childhood wounds can lead to a breakthrough for you.

September 26-30 (exact September 28) Venus in Libra sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius: Don’t let the trickster tell you to buy more clothes. Respect your budget. That’s a metaphor for everything your ego tells you to overindulge in. (I need to be careful, too.) You can, however, have a great time socializing and enjoying people you love or artistic activities.

September 28 New Moon in Libra 5 degrees 12:27 PM MDT. Moon oppose Chiron, quincunx Uranus, conjunct Sun: Sheesh, after all that work in September, it’s finally a fantastic time to start a new romance or friendship, ask someone to marry you, or have a freaking party!

Continuing Influences

April 5 – July 14 / November 20, 2019 – May 8, 2020 (exact January 12, 2020) Saturn in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: The opportunity to deconstruct and reconstruct a new world.

May 10 – September 11 (exact June 8, August 27) Jupiter quincunx North Node: There is a greater focus on how to put together the dilemma of expanding our horizons and flexible selfhood mixed with finding emotional security and sense of belongingness and family or “home.”

July 29 – August 4 (exact August 1) Venus in Leo trine Chiron in Aries: If you look, you will be able to see beauty where others cannot. Appreciating people and creative endeavors will have a profound effect on them at this time, inspiring them to heights you can only imagine. Take the time to show them some love by stopping and expressing how wonderful their efforts and results have made you feel, and how they have made a difference in the world around them. You will be sparking something glorious and grand!

July 31/August 1 New Moon in Leo at 8 degrees: This new moon sits between Venus in Leo and Mars in Leo right at the moment when Mercury stations as it turns direct. The personal planets are huddled together in one large gathering at a New Moon! It rather resembles the solar system itself if you think about it. The gas giants are far out and the rocky planets are close in.

July 31 Mercury turns direct at 23 degrees Cancer: When Mercury turns direct, we may feel wobbly, be more prone to making mistakes, or miscommunicate a little more. Give yourself some space to adjust to its forward movement and your brain a few days to move forward again, too.

August 2019 Astrology Trends

July 29-August 5 (Exact August 1) Venus in Leo trine Chiron Retrograde in Aries: Our egos are awakened and our self-image may wobble some as we try to stand on two images of ourselves: our idealized version of our identities and the actualized version of our identities. Let’s be gentle as the month opens with a dark New Moon and a Venus aspect such as this to Chiron—designed as an opportunity to heal—in actuality. Alternatively, we may receive unexpected gifts in the arenas of our creativity, finances, and relations. Also, we may experience a combination of gift/challenge. It would be an opportune time if you’re planning to ask someone out on a date or have a proposal in mind.

July 30-August 6 (exact August 2) Venus in Leo square Uranus in Taurus: We unexpectedly wish to look backward and forward at the same time but only have eyes in the front of our heads! What a conundrum, and who are we now at this point in time, anyway? Uranus can surprise us with events that cause us to reexamine our identity and ego-structure. This may come through how we experience barriers that emerge in relationships, creativity, and finances. Know that it’s acceptable and on-schedule to grow forward and redefine yourself if you are one whose astrology chart calls you to do so at this time. Some people’s charts may be activated more than others’. If unexpected events have occurred, there is underlying healing occurring (try to have faith) along with the shocking event to move your forward.

August 2-21 (exact August 14) Sun conjunct Venus in Leo: The majority of the month of August provides a strong conjunction to allow for us to examine our identity and sense of self-worth. This can be another point for the New Moon’s activation at the beginning of August that sets off a process of examination that can turn into a deeply individual journey throughout August—and it can transform and be one of joyful and creative fusion/fission that creates the energy of a glowing star/sun in your life before too long. The kind of glow you can feel in your solar plexus. Leo energy can only be suppressed momentarily, and with dramatic aplomb, before the joy and optimism emerge once again to light up our world. The Leo script comes complete with a happy ending. A conjunction to Venus is what Astrology calls a “benefic,” or lucky, aspect. So, again, if you’re looking for love, you’re probably looking for it in all the right places!

August 1-8 (exact August 4) Mars in Leo quincunx Pluto in Capricorn: You might struggle a little with aggression—either inside or in your environment. Let it go or use the tools you have developed to work it out. Exercise, positive psychology, rage of appreciation… After all, when was the world EVER behaving in a way that was controllable? It’s an unrealistic expectation that we can control our environment—we might as well control ourselves (and what we think should be) instead.

August 4-10 (exact August 7) Sun in Leo trine Jupiter in Sagittarius: After the first few days of August, another very beneficial aspect right before Jupiter turns direct occurs. When the Sun and Jupiter meet in trine aspect, there is the opportunity for big gifts—and in this case it’s big inspiration. The only challenge here is to self-regulate and try to keep from over-indulging. So the things that you were held back from in July finally begin to move forward—and with Jupiter involved—probably in a BIG way! Enjoy life’s inspiration and allow yourself to appreciate it for all it’s worth! We all deserve a break after a pretty labor-intensive July.

August 6-11 (exact August 8) Venus in Leo trine Jupiter in Sagittarius: Venus and Jupiter are Astrology’s most gifted planets! To whit, they bring us the most gifts. Venus brings gifts of love and romance, for example. Jupiter expands whatever it touches like it’s blowing up a beach ball. This is in the fixed fire sign of Leo and the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius, so it is bringing fire down to earth. I can only imagine inspired ideas will actually be able to manifest. The big ideas will be moving forward and planned out. The large successes are in sight and around the corner. Your strategies are likely sound strategies. Happiness is afoot and it is a mature happiness, worthy of investment. Fire is also often the element associated with the business realm, so this is an auspicious aspect for doing business. Creative, romantic, spiritual, travel, and inspirational realms are all favored. It is a time to focus on the self (Leo=identity) and the mentor/guru or the larger group (Sagittarius think=world travel not local travel and the very big ideas).

August 6-9 Sun and Venus in Leo quincunx Saturn in Capricorn: Since Saturn is sitting in Capricorn, there will probably be plenty of influence from somewhere—either internal or external—to keep you from going too far with any of your big endeavors. Saturn helps us with self-regulation. Keeps us safe, sane, and within our limits. Also, if you were thinking of proposing or marrying someone, Saturn gives stability and long-term prospects to a union.

August 9-14 Sun in Leo and Venus in Leo quincunx Neptune in Pisces: This can leave us feeling so deeply romantic that we get a little lost. If you get too emotional, simply make some adjustments and bring yourself back to center with some physical movement to shake off the Neptune fog.

August 11 Mercury enters Leo: Our minds may feel less emotional and more focused on our self-image. We may wish to go out a little more; stay home a little less. For all that going out—we might start to think about some new outfits or a new hair style! Our thoughts may turn from the past to the present or the future as we start to dream about creative endeavors.

August 12 Jupiter turns direct in Sagittarius: Likely there were situations that you had to revisit for a multitude of reasons. Things that seemed larger than life. Along with Mercury turning direct, it appears you can get back to the goals you had prior to April or even Mid-January of 2019. There are delays that you can now move forward to complete that were simply impossible to act upon until Jupiter turned direct. Now is the time to pick them up again.

August 13-18 (exact August 15) Mercury in Leo trine Chiron Retrograde in Aries: Mercury may bring some pretty potent messages to you about your right to be yourself. Chiron is asking you to step into your identity with a warrior’s courage. It truly is time to let the past burn away. Those old Pisces victim stories are from the last decade in astrology. Now is the time of action-oriented healing, using the physical body to move yourself into knowing who you are, and letting your strengths and passions lead you. That is Aries. It’s a little blunt, admittedly. (I can promise you, a victim-oriented identity will leave you frustrated on a dead-end road during Chiron in Aries. Chiron in Pisces wanted you to explore where it hurt and even honor your past stories. Aries wants you to act like the Ram climbing up a mountainside, exploring each crevice for footing and leaping the impossible leaps.)

Full Moon August 15 in Aquarius: This is a great day for dreaming, nature, spirituality, and getting into something creative or deeply internal. Use the Aquarius Full Moon to bring something brilliant out of yourself. It’s also great for romance and partnership, although it can be a little analytical as opposed to physical. Maybe do a date where you take a class together–painting, cooking, art, cultural, history or nature-oriented, etc. As I write this I realize it’s the perfect time to invite my family to the planetarium–an event we have been wishing to put together!

August 14-18 (exact August 16) Mercury in Leo square Uranus Retrograde in Taurus: Mercury in Leo will have some dramatic things to say to Uranus in Taurus about the changes or the lack of changes being made. The messages of Mercury or the way our minds are spinning may be out of sync with the way our higher minds are processing our worlds. This could show up as something external to you or internal for you. Either others irritate something in you, or you feel anxiety/depression. A square is often a conflict of some sort if it hits your personal chart just right. It’s often an external/world conflict if it doesn’t activate anything in your personal chart. Mercury is our intellectual mind and Uranus is our higher mind—when we can link our daily thoughts with our broader spiritual and philosophical and bodily intentions we are aligned and in sync.

August 17 Mars moves into Virgo: Mars in Virgo means we start to think about our habits and attitudes and cause and effect that lead to outcomes. We begin to make connections between things and think a lot about the relationships and symbology of the operational world. We see how almost everything interrelates. We feel how heaven manifests on earth. It’s mutable earth—the clay of creation. Our bodies can feel how things are made.

August 19-23 (exact August 21) Mercury in Leo trine Jupiter in Sagittarius: Our minds benefit from Jupiter’s beneficial fire. A warm feeling penetrates our thoughts, and this should give a very positive vibe to conversations, messages, and interactions of all kinds. Great for writing and meeting and learning. A good time to install/adjust new systems, since Saturn and Mercury are also interacting (see below).

August 19-23 (exact August 21) Mercury in Leo quincunx Saturn in Capricorn: Anything we are trying to learn or retain should benefit from Mercury interacting with Saturn, although we may need to use learning techniques to hold on to new knowledge. This aspect means we need to make accommodations.

August 21 Venus moves into Virgo: Venus moves into earth sign Virgo and enjoys a month of grace and health. You want to experience nature through days when you can relax and as much unscheduled time as possible because Virgo can get wrapped around the axle of perfectionism or also enjoy the life of the body fully as an earth sign. Time to focus on eating the perfect healthy plan, dates at the spa, doing a fast or cleanse or simply taking extremely good care of oneself so you notice a glow in your skin and a warm strength in your muscles. Tools required: tracking app and your blood pressure cuff. Nature and nurture both for you!

August 21-30 (exact August 24) Venus conjunct Mars in Virgo: Mars can put away his microscope and Venus can put down her precise schedule and they can spend some unstructured days outdoors together. That’s the highest vision. It could all go very detail-oriented and they could get lost in trying to improve the smallest flaws around them, too.

August 23 Sun moves into the sign of Virgo: Time for details, a focus on health and well-being. Make doctor appointments, plans, do business, set standards, clean up, get organized, etc.

August 23-30 (exact August 26-Venus/28-Mars) Venus and Mars in Virgo trine Uranus Retrograde in Taurus: Relationships, finances and creative endeavors are given energy by seeds you planted sometime in the past. The Uranus in Taurus influence provides an unexpected event set off by the transit of Venus and Mars together. Your actions or body are affected by this as well, or else male/female dynamics come to bear on the situation.

August 24-31 (exact August 28) Sun in Virgo quincunx Chiron Retrograde in Aries: Your energy level is also affected by the influence of Taurean Uranus events.

August 30 New Moon in Virgo: Conjunct Sun and Mars. By definition, the New Moon along with the Sun, will trine Uranus and quincunx Retrograde Chiron. Venus is still loosely conjunct. On the other side of the stellum, Mercury is loosely conjunct. This is a time of a lot of energies gathering together in the detailed vibes of Virgo. They are in relationship to Uranus, which is in structured and slow Taurus, so there is some interaction with what is slow about life—traditions, standards, nature, mountains. There is change afoot with Uranus in the mix. Chiron in Aries is also in the mix, looking at how we heal or harm. Aries, again, is the Ram—and in relation to the Virgo energy—taking the next leap up to change how we perceive our identity in order to become better. Neither of these two signs will broach feeling sorry for ourselves in the face of challenges. Instead they will ask us to embody something like the “analytical (Virgo) warrior (Aries).

Continuing Influences

April 5 – July 14 / November 20, 2019 – May 8, 2020 (exact January 12, 2020) Saturn in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: The opportunity to deconstruct and reconstruct a new world.

May 10 – September 11 (exact June 8, August 27) Jupiter quincunx North Node: There is a greater focus on how to put together the problems of expanding our horizons and flexible selfhood with finding emotional security and sense of belongingness and family or “home.”

June 25 – July 2 (exact June 27) Sun in Cancer square Chiron in Aries: We may need to take a step back to recover our vitality, energy, self-esteem, ego, identity, self-worth, or even sense of self. In some way our energy is either healed or depleted. You may either find the courage to express yourself or else find your self-expression dampened, for example.

June 29 – July 14 (never exact as Mercury retrogrades at 4 degrees July 9) Mercury in Leo trine Chiron in Aries: You can shed light on your emotional hot spots and take an intellectual approach to them. Journaling, writing, or self-expression is suggested at the end of June to clear out the cobwebs that were discovered during the month.

June 29 – July 13 (never exact as Mercury retrogrades at 4 degrees July 9) Mercury in Leo square Uranus in Taurus: You may have big ideas that won’t quite come together at this time, especially with Mercury going retrograde. Keep your mind somewhere else away from the grandiose and try to stay down-to-earth, despite how fast-thinking it WANTS to be. You may experience sudden inspiration but be unable to get it out. You may feel a little bit overly nervous and “electric.” You may feel rebellious about reading what I am writing and want to do your big idea anyway—lol! That’s the stubborn impulse waving at you. Keep your eyes open for it.

July 1 Mars moves into Leo: Making an impact is important during the transit of Mars in Leo, and since it’s eclipse season, this will definitely be possible if you stay humble and attentive. Mars and Mercury are still traveling together, and they are both trigger planets in Astrology. Following your heart is a must-do during this time period. After a somewhat sober or internal June, we now get to be creative, passionate, and loving in our actions and expressions, even if Uranus does surprise us and Neptune confuse us a bit.

July Astrology Trends

July 2 New Moon Eclipse at 10 degrees Cancer: Cancer’s cardinal quality and water element mean that a New Moon eclipse in this sign opens up the realm of perception in an initiation for you. New Moons are the beginning of things. What new ways of inviting in lunar light can you open up in your consciousness? What primal senses and deep intuitive flashes have you been ignoring by the light of day that come to you in the twilight or the depths of night? What ideas cross over to you in the moonlight? What sweet and romantic and magical nonsense is playing a tune in your mind and has nothing to do with logic and reason? Allow this eclipse to activate the parts of life that are unfathomable to float up into your consciousness and make new paths forward during the next six months (through December) as the Cancer Moon makes magic happen for you. (The July eclipse effects will be active for six months.) This is a fundamental (and fun) part of human life that has been quietly purring along for you behind the scenes and waiting patiently for its chance to stretch out and manifest. Here it is. If you meditate before the noise of life begins on July second, you can probably sense your mood and mantra and psychological cruising altitude for the latter part of the year. They say the center of the moon must be made of a huge crystal because when something strikes the moon, it reverberates for a very long time! Relax and allow yourself to be the channel for the moon’s song and the reflection for the light of the stars moving through you.

July 4 Venus enters Cancer: Your emotions turn to your finances and your family. You will feel you wish to form stronger bonds with your “tribe” this month. People may be considering having babies, may be very tender and romantic, and attached to home. Help others to feel safe during July.

July 4 – 11 (exact July 8) Mercury (Retrograde on the 7th) in Leo conjunct Mars in Leo: On the up side, you will be having fun and learning so much during the beginning of July! Both your intellect and your energy will be in alignment and be turned in. You will find it easy to retain the knowledge you’re acquiring. On the down side, your ego may be ignited, and you will have to look out for acting like a know-it-all and appearing arrogant. Maybe forgive others their foibles during these days, also. Mercury and Mars are loosely opposing Pluto at the month’s start (as well as the square to Uranus adding nervous energy), so watch for obsessive thinking and action—so that they do not come out sideways.

July 5 – 16 (exact July 11) Mars in Leo trine Chiron in Aries: Given your attention, you can purposefully apply fire energy to heal wounds of the past. This means inspirational action, courage, physical movement, enacting a warrior or pioneer role, and even amorous/seductive healing can be your tools. Fire inspires and cleanses. Use your exercise routines as a meditation on wellness and raise energy and your vibration level through physical means during the first half of July to optimize your potential. Use food as medicine. Use essential oils and sage and other cleansing aromas like you might have used use smoke in times past to clear spaces. Fire can move fast in its healing, and Leo is a dramatic energy, so you can also turn to drama, fashion, and any other creative means of expression as part of your healing journey. You can light a candle or LED lights in honor of your ancestors or loved ones who have gone on to the next life.

July 5 – 11 (exact July 8) Venus in Cancer square Chiron in Aries: There is the possibility for family conflicts and arguments during this time. Strong opinions between “head of household” types may emerge. On the other side of the coin, solutions may be found, or wisdom gained, for family problems that have been plaguing you. The tension may arise to the point that issues get resolved around the house, for example. You may also process grief issues.

July 6 – 11 (exact July 8) Venus in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus: A relationship may result in unique solutions or ideas that manifest on the physical plane. You might see a way to use your resources that you previously had not considered. You may start some new way of processing things that had not occurred to you before. This is an emotionally-based brilliant-insight kind of deal. Also, this could be money coming in from someone that you were not expecting or a new relationship that you were not expecting that helps you out a lot.

July 6 – 12 (exact July 9) Sun in Cancer conjunct North Node in Cancer: You are now destined to understand how to make use of your energy and self in a way that serves your family and your sell-being in a new and humble but exciting way. You can touch the heart of self-soothing, nurturing, self-care, and self-regulation in a fashion that you have been trying to master. Go for it! Be healthy!

July 6 –12 (exact July 9) Sun in Cancer oppose Saturn in Capricorn: This is an aspect about self-mastery within the karma and limits that your life demands. You need to make sure you’re a responsible actor on planet earth and making good use of your capabilities. There are many dualities to consider as a human being. We have two hands, two eyes, two arms, two ears, and one heart. There is a oneness beneath all dualities to make contact with—the oneness of creation that is like a heartbeat giving us life and energy. The first cells formed physically within our bodies were the cells of our hearts, and I believe there was a unity before there was ever any duality. When we return to the oneness of everything it is like sensing our heartbeat. That is how to synthesize the duality of Cancer and Capricorn that is so prevalent in the astrological occurrences of the past several years, and especially this year. We understand there is much to do and also live in the spiritual truth of merging into universality.

July 7 – 13 (exact July 10) Sun in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces: Allow spirit in (consciously) to peer into the highest self that you can become during this aspect’s time period. You can see your greatest potential if you look. Use meditation, prayer, journeying and any rituals that appeal to you to speak to the heavens. Water is particularly potent as a source of visualization or an actual tool for spiritual practice.

July 7 Mercury turns retrograde at 4 degrees Leo: “Sabian Symbol: Rock formations at the edge of a precipice.” When we get to the edge of a cliff in life and we have to take a leap of faith, sometimes we’re definitely not ready (or else we back up to get a running head start for that leap). I’m not sure which one Mercury (our mind) is doing, but before we take our next leap of faith, Mercury is backing up to 23 degrees Cancer to review the past a little bit more before moving forward. The Sabian symbol of this degree of Leo that Mercury stopped at is poignant for its symbolism because it’s as if we got to a certain point in our journey and said, before we jump off the cliff into an unknown chasm, let’s wait a minute. So this Mercury retrograde has us reviewing our intentions and our safety net before moving forward in life to the next stage. During July and into August (after Mercury turns direct again and moves out of Cancer for good during this rotation of the zodiac), our thoughts will be on safety, devotion, security, soothing, mood & emotion—Cancer’s realm. After that, when Mercury moves into Leo again in August, we can feel confident in taking the leap of faith into the future in terms of our projects and initiatives. There are things we have started during Mercury in Cancer that we will develop with more confidence during Mercury in Leo.

July 7 – 17 (exact July 11) Mars in Leo square Uranus in Taurus: This may work in conjunction with Mercury retrograde to let us know what we need to review and reconcile before we move forward again in August. Mars and Uranus may bring us some unexpected tasks in this square aspect that slow us down and make us sit up to take notice that we need to attend to things that we were not expecting to have to do. This can likely show up in business or our daily life functions, as well as our creative life or with our children. Make sure to avoid impulsive actions if you get caught in situations or flare-ups.

July 10 – 17 (exact July 14) Sun in Cancer oppose Pluto in Capricorn: This aspect is likely to cause a zap to our energy level so keeping up good nutrition and exercise can help to ameliorate the sense that the world is bringing us down. It can also affect our sense of identity.

July 15 – 20 (exact July 17) Venus in Cancer conjunct North Node in Cancer: This aspect can go either very positive or negative, depending on your level of safety and security. It’s great of you have paid your bills and if you’re on the up and up in your relationships and have creative outlets. If you’re feeling hemmed in creatively, you may need to find time and openings to express yourself. If you have unpaid bills, karma catches up with you now, so pay them or make arrangements before this aspect hits. (This is what I need to do! I got a tax letter from the state because I forgot to file state taxes for a few quarters and now we have a tax bill—so all of us usually have something to pay, right? So, you are not alone on needing to deal with financial details if you have some. Except those who are really on top of things…) If you have safety concerns, make a safety plan. If you are feeling insecure, attend to this and get support that is needed. This is a destiny aspect—one among many this month. Our responsibilities are karmic and we need to attend to them sooner rather than later in July. Between the North Node, Saturn, and Mercury retrograde, anything that has not been attended to will be knocking at our doors.

July 16 Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) at 24 degrees Capricorn: Another look at responsibility, duality, and karma. This Full Moon Eclipse holds the Moon next to Saturn, who is karma’s bedfellow in astrology. This is another proof that anything we have not attended to, whether it be physical or psychological, will have its impact mid-July. Any details we have been quietly ignoring, any unpaid debts, any unfair actions on our part—will come home to haunt us. Make sure you are fair and have taken care of your obligations and you will have a much nicer Mid-July week. In the wider world, you may see lots of conversations about justice. Adorn yourself in the fashion of “handled it” for a Venus/North Node opposing Moon/Saturn look to die for—meaning a responsible outfit is a beautiful outfit during this time. Getting dressed/groomed can be a ritual in and of itself—as Mars and Mercury are in Leo.

July 14 – 19 (exact July 15) Venus in Cancer oppose Saturn in Capricorn: Now we are asked to master our relations with others and our self-expression as well as ourselves and our internal state of being. Venus is relationships, creativity, and finances. How we act in the world and take responsibility for our place and identity is Saturn’s test of our synthesis of whether we can feel the heartbeat of how we are all one behind the temptations of identifying with “sides.” We can see male and female has been defined by many cultures but then that there are intersex people and actually a spectrum of possibilities for gender, for example. It renders our binary definitions and institutions arbitrary. Nature gives us circles and leaves and planets and water and winds. We have few straight lines and fewer mathematical planes and edges when you look closer. “Assume a vacuum” they said in science classes—and then went on to say there never was an actual vacuum in space… So to build our institutions and definitions around things that don’t exist when you actually observe them seems folly to me. When we are with people and in relationship to culture—let’s go with our actual observations and unwind the stories and filters we have been living through even if we are old ladies like myself. And even if, like most people, we believe we are right. Saturn asks us to question all assumptions. Venus says—assumptions about relationships.

July 15 – 21 (exact July 18) Venus in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces: This is an opportunity, if you make use of it, to connect with your spiritual gurus. You can do the strange stuff—peer through the window of Neptune into other dimensions. Download via Venus the love and support of the angels and gods and higher beings, or simply connect with your highest self and highest potential. However you conceive of your spirituality—whether that be one God or many, one lifetime or past and future lives—here is an opportunity to connect with your spirituality at the deepest and highest core levels. On the earthly plane, this aspect provides for ease in relationships and finances; creativity and manifestation.

July 19 Mercury retrograde re-enters Cancer: The mind returns to an emotional sign. Thinking becomes based in family life and people want to stick close to home and creature comforts for the Mercury retrograde time period. Sensitivity, nurturing thoughts and re-evaluating self-care may ensue. On the plus side, people also turn their attention towards fertility, devotion, affection, children, care, and concern.

July 18 – 23 (exact July 21) Venus in Cancer oppose Pluto in Capricorn: The honeymoon may be over in many cases in relationships. Which ones empower you and which ones dis-empower you? You are being tested in these waters. Many times, the way you interact changes with this aspect, and sometimes relationships dissolve altogether. People to whom we have looked for answers don’t seem to have those answers any longer as we realize we don’t like what we see. Large scale changes are occurring at Pluto’s hand, and that is why the shake-ups are so profound to the systems surrounding us, and Venus bring that into our daily relationships. Ask yourself if you like who you are when you are around people.

July 18 – 23 (exact July 21) Sun in Cancer conjunct Mercury Retrograde at 28 degrees: What a great time to sense our ability to channel our ancestor’s voices and our own vital strength and power as a part of the river of time. We can get strength and energy from visiting water sources such as streams, lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Focus on the self and recharging ourselves seems like a good idea on these days. Mindfulness of health and traditions and well-being is a high path way of relating to life. If you wish to make creative projects that honor those who have passed, this a great time to get started, for example.

July 21 – 30 (exact July 26) Mars in Leo trine Jupiter in Sagittarius: Here is an opportunity to feel that life is wide open to opportunities to act in generous ways. Opening our minds to a large-spirited way of being is possible. In fact, you may see possibility at each turn. Under the surface of things, your abilities to inspire and provide creative inspiration and support to the world simply glow during the end of July.

July 23 Sun enters Leo: The Sun is at home for this month! Leo adores recognition and the spotlight. The sun is the sign of the heart and loves to do things that warm their heart. The time of Leo is a time of generosity and sharing. We feel a sense of energy and stability. Things appear to glow as Summertime is in full bloom.

Yellow Wildflowers

July 23 – 26 (exact July 24) Mercury Retrograde in Cancer conjunct Venus: A very intuitive and devoted time in relationships. You may feel reserved and wish to stay close to home as well. You may also sense a lot of psychic ability creatively, as well, and feel sensitive about creative projects.

July 25 – 29 (exact July 28) Sun in Leo trine Chiron in Aries: The nicest feelings come from being able to creatively manifest new and beautiful things. There is an opportunity to do so during the final days of this fiery Summer month. Enjoy indulging yourself in some finery or taking in some entertainment that you have been interested in seeing. You can call upon the wisdom of the Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet, who, according to legend, breathed out the deserts and who is shown as a lioness in pictures (Leonine influence). She is said to be a fierce hunter and protector (Aries influence). She protects both before and after death, and evil trembles before her. Her color is red and her blood lust was not always easy to calm according to legend—quelled apparently by beer offerings. She became so drunk that she finally would pass out. This sort of spiritual materialism is for me a meditation on how we conceive of the world, as well. Egyptians used to conceive of flooding as resulting from myths and stories such as this. The river would flood in red from the silt upstream, and their stories would be that it was blood that Sekhmet would drink. So, their offerings and prayers would be for the river to change back to normal and stop flooding. How is that different from last week when I prayed for congested freeway traffic to flow? Our human storytelling and our ways of asking are linked to consciousness in ancient and also emerging ways.

July 26 – 31 (exact July 29) Sun in Leo square Uranus in Taurus: Unexpected things may occur that slow you down. This is life asking you to use the tension to look closer at how you’re doing things. Use it to learn more about how to use what you’ve got.

July 28 Venus enters Leo: We crave attention and others do as well! You might want to plan game nights for the family, pamper your beloved with some romance, and go ahead and indulge your generosity a little bit this month. You might find you’re interested in dressing up and feeling fancy. You can enjoy your creativity. Most people will feel outgoing.

July 29 – August 4 (exact August 1) Venus in Leo trine Chiron in Aries: If you look, you will be able to see beauty where others cannot. Appreciating people and creative endeavor will have a profound effect on them at this time, inspiring them to heights you can only imagine. Take the time to show them some love by stopping and expressing how wonderful their efforts and results have made your feel and how they have made a difference in the world around them. You will be sparking something glorious and grand!

July 31 New Moon in Leo at 8 degrees: This new moon sits between Venus in Leo and Mars in Leo right at the moment when Mercury stations as it turns direct.

Continuing Influences

April 5 – July 14 / November 20, 2019 – May 8, 2020 (exact January 12, 2020) Saturn in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: The opportunity to deconstruct and reconstruct a new world. Saturn is the lord of karma and Pluto is the great destroyer. Together, they can embody some larger conversations among nature and mankind is part of nature.

February 13-June 12, 2019 (exact March 28, 2019 from about 7 AM MST to about 2:30 PM MST) Pluto in Capricorn oppose North Node in Cancer. (Pluto turns direct on October 2, 2019 so there’s not a chance to oppose the North Node again.) This is an opportunity for true transformation and evolution on a cosmic scale. Look at how powerful the feelings of past habits and forces can be as a shadow and choose to move into the future where and when you can. It’s a meditation in change, transformation, and shadow. What is useful and what have you learned? What is needed to grow and become the future you? What needs to dissolve about your identity, so you can heal and what can you reassess in order to serve something beyond your ego? Then, how can you put this into daily practice?

April 30 – October 3 (Exact June 16) Neptune in Pisces Trine North Node in Cancer: The divine feminine is a study in depth of receiving rather than pushing forward. Learning to receive and accept; forgive and rely on intuition—these are very different approaches than our cultural indoctrination. Taking a lot of time to learn and experience this approach during the Summer would make a better world, without a doubt, says Astrology.

May 28-June 3 (Exact May 31) Venus in Taurus Trine Saturn In Capricorn: This is an aspect that provides an opportunity for long-term relationships. This relationship can be with another or with yourself. Commitments that are grounded and real are great gifts and provide tremendous benefit to your life.

May 30-June 6 (Exact June 2) Venus in Taurus Trine Pluto In Capricorn: Longevity and depth in relationships is the focus as Venus is in her home sign. Love can be manifested, and the resources are there to put together a lovely and fabulous shared life. Revel in commitments. The energy of love and wisdom is provided by Pluto as we move into late Spring. Our incarnation is honored here. We get to experience sharing on the deepest levels.

June Astrology Trends

May 28 – June 2 (exact May 30) Venus in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces: Prior to Neptune turning retrograde in June, Venus and her higher octave partner Neptune meet in one of the most harmonious aspects to offer a time of deep connection for humans to connect to their spiritual core, or their higher self, or the oneness of everything, or their higher purpose. However you wish to phrase it—focus on your personal connection to the divine for the first few days of June. A great time for deep meditation.

June 3: New Moon in Gemini: There is a loose square to Neptune in Pisces from this New Moon in Gemini. At the same time, Venus is in trine aspect to Saturn and Pluto, and Saturn is in sextile aspect to Neptune. The new moon, when the moon is the least visible in the night sky, represents a time when we are starting out like seeds in dark soil. Symbolically, it’s a time of new beginnings. We feel motivated to start new actions. Coupled with Gemini, these actions can include new ways to communicate, new languages, new ways to become brotherly or sisterly, and new ways to initiate things. Gemini is an action-oriented sign, and Gemini and its planet, Mercury, find us traveling and talking to one another. Writing and thinking and learning are covered under the Gemini realms. Deciding and speaking up and changing and having courage to take some new risks or try a new way are found in the Gemini realms. Some of the problems of the Gemini and Mercury realm include going so fast that we forget to listen, being able to tell the truth (and tell the truth from lies) and being mindful of how we are communicating. That is where the Neptune square aspect may manifest on the New Moon. However, the Saturn square to Neptune can also mitigate a lot of this aspect at this time. The Venus trine to Pluto and Saturn can also help us to communicate in a way that is fair, as well as pleasant.

June 4: Mercury moves into Cancer: This Summer is a time to think about what you are feeling. An examination of our emotions, our safety, our community and sense of family—will be up for examination in an active way not once, but twice. As Mercury moves into Cancer, it will meet up with Mars and the North Node, and then oppose Saturn and Pluto to be integrated with the larger structures represented by Capricorn. This leads me to think that taking action based upon your beliefs about family and safety, around political and social definitions of family and female rights and responsibilities is appropriate at this time, astrologically speaking. Figure out what you believe and act accordingly to protect your rights.

June 5 – 9 (exact June 7) Mercury in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus: Unexpected events in relation to families, women, mothers. Insights are possible, sudden breakthroughs.

June 5-10 (exact June 7) Mercury in Cancer square Chiron in Aries: New initiations that affect the family in a yin/yang way. In other words, it is unclear if the family is private or public and the very definition of the concept of family is in conflict. A shared understanding needs to be developed.

June 8 Venus moves into Gemini: Venus moves into a more active sign but out of her Taurus ascendancy. Venus in Gemini means an intellectual focus instead of an earthy and bodily focus.

June 5 – 13 (exact June 9) Sun in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces: Something is sapping your energy. If nothing else, recognize that drugs and alcohol will have a stronger effect on you so act accordingly. It’s not a great time for a physical diagnosis, if you can put it off. If you find yourself depressed, anxious, or paranoid, you could possibly blame this aspect! Try to delay any important work for later, as well, as this aspect can cloud the mind.

June 6 – 14 (exact June 10) Sun in Gemini oppose Jupiter in Sagittarius: This Sun opposite Jupiter transit can be a tricky one because it is met at the same time as a Sun square Neptune transit. I would be cautious about over-indulgence and over-optimism. Examine your behaviors closely for greed, self-indulgence, and ego-driven motives. We are all prone to needing attention and there are many emotional triggers at this time, astrologically. (See the Mars and Mercury conjunction with the North Node around June 13.) I would use any impulses that emerge to examine behaviors that link to childhood development, past-life issues, or previous traumas. They may result from unconscious parts of us that are yet to be processed.

May 10 – September 11 (exact June 8, August 27) Jupiter quincunx North Node: There is an expansion of focus on how to put together the problems of expanding our horizons and flexible self-hood with finding emotional security and sense of belongingness and family or “home.”

June 9 – 18 (exact June 14) Mars in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces: This trine asks you to surrender your ego, anxieties, and emotions to a higher source in order to heal and allow yourself to evolve. Whatever you have been carrying for your family, it is time to let it go. This is possibly grief work, spiritual journey work. Cancer energies are evolving their sense of belongingness.  These Mars transits in Mid-June are also foreshadowing July’s Solar and Eclipse energy in July, which will include the Sun/Moon in the same configuration with the North Node, Saturn, Pluto, and Neptune.

June 10 – 18 (exact June 14) Mars in Cancer oppose Saturn in Capricorn: Saturn is strong in wishing for you to inhabit your adult self. Mars is subjective and looking at your childhood. How do you take responsibility for your life? How do you stand stronger in self-care? Saturn will ask you to find safety and authenticity inside yourself. You can pass Saturn’s tests when you find you feel “at home” with your decisions.

June 10 – 18 (exact June 14) Mars in Cancer conjunct North Node in Cancer: The activation of unexpressed childhood or unconscious emotional imprints. You can use this productively if you stop and allow yourself to be set free by unburdening yourself. Learn through your feelings to go inside for your answers. Instead of giving in to anger and reactivity, trust your higher self to learn into forgiveness and meditation. The lower forms of Mars in Cancer can get circular and get caught in the undertow of the Cancer water energy instead of allowing the wave to dissipate and let go. Learn about your emotional needs.

June 13 – 18 (exact June 16) Mercury in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces: You can use journaling, writing, and self-expression to process whatever needs to be let go at this time, in conjunction with the Mars activations. Mercury opens up the ability for messages received or given.

June 13 – 18 (exact June 16) Mercury in Cancer conjunct North Node in Cancer: You can see your mother through the eyes of the divine so that you can allow spirit to flow instead of see through the human story. There is a connection to be made to a bigger story or something to see about the soul connection between mother and child.

June 14 – 18 (exact June 16) Mercury in Cancer oppose Saturn in Capricorn: Saturn slows the emotionally-based mind down to a degree to allow for learning to take place, and for what you are synthesizing to be made permanent. You have the opportunity to feel a little more grounded than if you were processing your emotional memories only through the sign of Cancer, even though this is an opposition aspect.

June 17: Full Moon in Sagittarius: The Sagittarius archetypal journey is about gaining wisdom after experiencing exuberance and an abundance of excitement. It is about learning and gaining mastery and skill in each realm despite the deepest desires for personal recognition, power, and glory. It’s about finding a wider perspective and transcendent or transpersonal viewpoint. It’s about marrying the bodily experience to the heavenly symphony. At this Full Moon, which is conjunct Jupiter in Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces, may the heavens provide enough adjustment to your life to show you the path to the next note of wisdom for your life. Let the music play out and listen deeply and patiently during the days around this Full Moon. It’s a time chock full of deep and powerful aspects that can move you (and all of us) forward.

June 16 – 24 (exact June 20) Mars in Cancer oppose Pluto in Capricorn: Mars is subjective and Pluto is internally getting triggered in order to empower you. You are being asked to integrate things from your past in a way that may not be very comfortable. Neither your mind nor your ego will help you very much; look back to the Neptune spiritual focus to resolve this. Your asked to be brave and head into your vulnerabilities instead of externalizing these issues—parenthood, family of origin, family structure, nurturing, authority figures, and respect.

June 13 – 27 (exact June 18) Mercury in Cancer conjunct Mars in Cancer: Mercury conjunct Mars means that whatever emotional experience was triggered by Mars also requires expression. This may take the form of writing or another form of self-expression. Mercury allows you to find a way to get the message out of you and into another form. You can find a language for what you are feeling.

June 17 – 22 (exact June 19) Mercury in Cancer oppose Pluto in Capricorn: You find you would like to be able to move others or cause reactions with your words and expressions. However, the person we need to be moving is ourselves, and we need a lot of self-nurturing and self-compassion. So many people will be experiencing their own internal processing that they may not be able to even see us, so we each need to take care of our own emotions. Self-care, in fact, is where the growth is at during this time period. We can also try to help others after we feel clear.

June 21 Sun moves into Leo: Oh, happy day. The Sun is at home in Leo. A sense of vitality and flexibility should reign.

June 21 – 26 (exact June 24) Venus in Gemini square Neptune stationing / retrograde in Pisces: There is tension in the feminine realms—earthly as well as the higher realms. Neptune is also retrograding at the same time, adding strength to this aspect’s influence. This means we experience distortion in our consciousness, relationships, finances, and creative manifestations. We may have unsettled dreams and trouble sleeping, too. Stay away from substances and parties during this time if possible.

June 24 – 30 (exact June 27) Sun in Cancer square Chiron in Aries: You will need to call upon your inner spiritual warrior. There is no doubt that change is difficult, and you are becoming transformed. If it’s a challenge, take up your best inner warrior and stand up for your life. Time to re-parent yourself or be re-born/transformed in some way in order to heal. To me this looks like exercise and movement would help you, as much as possible.

June 24 – 30 (exact June 27) Sun in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus (On June 27 also, Moon conjunct Uranus in Taurus): After the intense focus on emotional maturation and transformation, or however it may have manifested for you, during the month of June—here is the light at the end of the tunnel. Your body or your creativity may be the key to a new insight. This also may be kicked off via a relationship or a business matter. A new and exciting way of understanding and experiencing the world, emotionally, should show up for you. And it is supposed to be brilliant and pleasant, according to astrology. The old routine is past; the new is upon us.

June 27 Mercury moves into Leo: People will start to think more about self-indulgence and finery. Alternatively, people may begin to look very nice as they adorn themselves the leonine queen and king! How will they afford the new jewelry, haircut, fashions, etc? These personal expressions may be the conversations of the day during Mercury in Leo. Along with the latest theater tickets to get.

Mars and Mercury are still traveling together and they are both trigger planets in Astrology. Following your heart is a must-do during this time period. After a somewhat sober or internal June, we now get to be creative, passionate, and loving in our actions and expressions, even if Uranus does surprise us and Neptune confuse us a bit.

May 2019 Astrology Trends

Continuing influences…

April 5 – July 14 / November 20, 2019 – May 8, 2020 (exact January 12, 2020) Saturn in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn: The opportunity to deconstruct and reconstruct a new world. A steady and consistent effort can provide a way to work within the world that will honor our values in a noble way. Nature is larger than man, and we need to align with a higher vision as we make a new world, culture, society, and systems. The idea that men are machines or the ideas that our parents and the culture have transmitted are not currently aligned with the highest values. Saturn is the lord of karma and Pluto is the great destroyer. Together, they can embody some larger conversations in nature and mankind is part of nature.

April 21 – May 2 (exact April 27) Mars in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces: Mars is doing a variety of things. Maybe Mars can’t decide on which thing to prioritize under this additional Neptune in Pisces aspect. Maybe Mars would do best to DO some dreaming and psychic into some blocks if trying to get very assertive. Less may be more in terms of direct action and communication.

April 29 – May 3 (exact May 1): Mercury in Aries square North Node in Cancer: Mercury feels the urge to accomplish many tasks but the North Node is calling us to experience the influence of a divine mothering and re-parenting. Relaxation is in the air for the Summer. I’m sorry, Mercury. It is time to allow and slow down instead of business as usual. Try creativity in the area of your heart’s desires if you really want to achieve something.

May Planetary Influences…

May 1 Cardinal T-Square with Mercury/Moon in Aries at the “T”, and the North Node in Cancer Opposing Retrograde Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn: This is an aspect pattern that means there’s conflictual and agitated energy in the air. Conversations, perceptions, and activity are at a turning point. Try to be careful of communication because of the Aries influence. Soon, Taurus will come in and calm things down, but Mercury and Saturn with the Nodes are karmic energy. Something challenging and heavy exists. The mind is under a lot of pressure and limitations exist. We face that there are things out of our control, with the Pluto influence. Saturn in Capricorn words to consider: integrity, planning, long-term, maturity, responsibility. Overall, major decisions are made at the beginning of May.

April 27 – May 4 (Exact May 1) Mercury in Aries sextile Mars in Gemini: You are provided the courage to communicate honestly, with Mercury and Mars in mutual reception. Your initiative is activated, and you can sense meaning in your actions. There are extra blessings on conversations that occur now. You can find balance in not being too over-confident and also not falling into a sense of learned helplessness. Your ego shouldn’t be out of control even though Aries is involved. You can find your confidence is all. Even confidence to propose to a love partner or propose a new plan professionally.

May 1 – 4 (Exact May 2) Mercury in Aries trine Jupiter in Sagittarius: Thursday night brings some good news. Jupiter and Mercury (plus the Moon) together bring happiness and joy. Your brain can be stimulated with joy. After a tough few days, the ability to enjoy and relax life with people should help you feel you are receiving some of life’s gifts. Flexibility and adaptability come in to play.

May 1 – 11 (Exact May 5) Mars in Gemini oppose Jupiter in Sagittarius: This is a beneficial aspect that provides good luck. Make sure you check your selfish desires and apply the good luck toward virtuous ends and enjoy how malleable life can be. The little coincidences that occur as you move through life can be magical when you pay attention, and give your life meaning and happiness, as if life itself is having a conversation with you. Be considerate of others and act in loving ways. Feel free to date and be social.

May 4 New Moon in Taurus: What treasures are beneath the garden in your life? You will need to let the old life dissolve in order for your individual paradise to emerge. With the New Moon in happy conjunction to the Saturn/Pluto conjunction, I have no doubt that your life is changing in being reshaped. The New Moon is also in harmony with Neptune. Honor your personal desires. The things that have you feeling alive are the things that will help you embody your future. Simplify in order to return to your natural rhythm. Use effortlessness as your guide. It’s time to slow down and fertilize the garden of your life. Find comfort and a slower pace now to find abundance. Inter-connect with nature and view your body as a temple.

May 4 – 10 (Exact May 7) Venus in Aries Square Saturn in Capricorn: You would rather relax than have to attend to responsibilities. That sense you have that you need a really long nap is due to this aspect.

May 6 Mercury enters Taurus: Our minds can feel peaceful and quiet during this time. Take some time to breathe and enjoy nature. Use your resources.

May 6 – 10 (Exact May 8) Mercury in Taurus Conjunct Uranus in Taurus: Find opportunities to simplify. You can improve the ways you have space, peace, and reduce how you can earn money or use your creativity. New ways and means are available. Higher concepts are coming through physical experiences. Taking a walk can help you get in touch with your mind through your breath and being. A great meal can spark insight. Your brilliance can emerge through relaxation.

May 6 – 12 (Exact May 9) Sun in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces:  This is the aspect that enhances dreaming, empathizing, sensitivities, and personal connections to universal consciousness. Enjoy these days of connection to a higher sense of life. Your spiritual nature is highlighted. You can connect to spirit directly through your heart.

May 7 – 12 (Exact May 9) Venus in Aries Trine Jupiter in Sagittarius: Affectionate and attractive, you can date, propose, share your heart, and love each other in general. An anticipated aspect, this is a lovely time for relationships, romance, friendship, sweetness, and abundance. A great time to start a relationship.

May 7 – 12 (Exact May 9) Venus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn: Fear, manipulation and insecurity can arise in relationships. However, Pluto can also provide power to a relationship in its highest manifestation. Situations can emerge that can empower the attraction and the connection between partners, for better or worse.

May 15 Venus enters Taurus: Beauty, femininity, sensuality. This is the time of centering in relationships, creativity, and finances. Through Venus and Taurus, we touch life. We connect with the divine feminine. This provides true safety and space.

May 15 – 22 Venus in Taurus conjunct Uranus in Taurus: How can you share your values and creativity in a high-minded way? How can you balance freedom and finances and your survival needs? This is a chance to look at Taurus medicine. We may not want to settle for the slower answer because we prefer the short term and we want the rest of our lives figured out. However, this is not realistic, and we need to give up easy wins and spiritual materialism and slow down and revisit our truest values. Over extending is not the future. It sucks the energy from our lives. Life energy is more valuable than the rat race. The rat race is a disease and the conditioning is deep. What is “good?” What is true? It is a prejudice against the feminine to kill ourselves through hurting ourselves by working when we are sick, for example.

May 16 Mars enters Cancer: After feeling you have had to be going in so many directions, Mars finally settles down into sensitive and psychic Cancer for a spell. This can provide either frustration or comfort. I believe this transit of Mars will be comfortable because of the compatible Taurus influences surrounding it. This year is focused on the feminine and energy taken in feminine and cardinal Cancer will be healing and directive for getting the Summer off to a more productive level than Gemini likely was, even though Gemini appeared busier. Cancer is simply more of a leader.

May 17 – 30 (Exact May 23) Mars in Cancer Square Chiron in Aries: This is the dynamic that you must do something about the wound you are experiencing (or more than one). There seems to be a mountain to climb, a corner to turn. You are motivated to keep going. That’s the only way through with a square aspect. It probably feels like you would like to retreat and relax at the same time, and yet it is important to keep forging a new path. That’s the ambivalence of this aspect. Remember that when some people hit a wall, they climb it. However, others learn from it and apply that knowledge to other walls. They find a door. They dig underneath. They discover a way around it. They use other means to get by it. Some people enlist the help of other people to get over the wall. Some others find ways to help another get over the wall even if they, themselves, can’t make it. Remember you can usually walk to another wall. There are only a few required walls.

May 18 Full Moon in Scorpio: This is the time to forgive, express gratitude, and let go of the things that you can no longer engage with. Part of forgiving is learning to appreciate that relationships and endeavors have been a sacred part of your journey. Part of that journey is going inward to understand your own relationship to the worlds beneath your feet and the heavenly realms above. You cannot do so distracted by the “ten thousand things” as they are called in Taoism. Scorpio is honest and deep and asks you to examine how you can work with others by going within to examine what resources you truthfully have to offer. This is likely changing in tangible and surprising ways. Please be gentle and honest with yourself and others.

May 16 – 20 (exact May 18) Mercury in Taurus Trine Pluto in Capricorn: This aspect gives powerful manifestation to your ability to communicate and interact, or simply find yourself in the right place at the right time. Visits to nature or to gardens are highly beneficial.

May 18 – 21 Mercury conjunct Sun in Taurus: We are conscious of our value and we allow ourselves to relax and feel our way forward. Allow yourself to remember what life can be when we return to nature. Creativity and innovation are found in what is most simple. Process by moving and breathing. Easier and simpler is the gift. Nature works with us like a river moving downstream. When we go along with it, we’re in the Taurus mode.

May 21 Sun enters Gemini: Many messages about who you are and the numerous aspects of yourself and others may start to move through you as the Sun transitions into Gemini. You may travel a bit or seek out the company of like-minded people in order to move through this month comfortably.

May 21 Mercury enters Gemini: The mind begins to travel again. Verbal communication becomes the call of the day again. Get your writing pen out as opposed to the Taurus garden trowel.

May 21 – 24 (exact May 21) Mercury Conjunct Sun in Gemini: Mercury and the Sun are saying that head and heart are one. You can use these days to accomplish important tasks and, again, writing and communicating is favored. You have clear insight about who you are and what you wish to convey.

May 21 – 26 (exact May 23) Mercury in Gemini sextile Chiron in Aries: This is a healing aspect in regard to your thoughts and even for neurological matters. A good time to seek psychological or mentoring services as you can meet someone supportive and skilled.

May 21 – May 31 (exact May 27) Sun sextile Chiron in Aries: You are able to connect to your true self and feel your raw life energy. This is a fortunate time period for healing. Wounds to the head or to your psychological self are especially favored for healing. There is no doubt that the Chiron focus at the end of the month is calling people to personally experience something that calls them to healing via courage and action. The influence of the Sun in Gemini may mean that you break your problem down into smaller steps. It may mean that you can’t solve the whole problem at once. It may mean you take several perspectives in order to find your best approach. Chiron in Aries can show us a) the best and worst about ourselves as we are challenged to survive and thrive, b) the exposition of our Achilles Heel, or the places we are vulnerable and not invincible when we believed ourselves to be, and c) our greatest strengths. Remember: we are neither indestructible nor helpless.

Love can be manifested and the resources are there to put together a lovely and fabulous shared life. Revel in commitments. The energy of love and wisdom is provided by Pluto as we move into late Spring. Our incarnation is honored here. We get to experience sharing on the deepest levels.
