June 2018 Astrological Trends

Here is a Summertime bonus! Some information on some recent Astrological changes that will affect us for the coming years that you may be interested in as part of this month’s astrology trends! This is an unusually long Astrology Trends report, because Chiron and Uranus moved signs, which only happens every 7 years or so. Get some sustenance—tea, coffee, breakfast—prior to sitting down with this one, my brave star traveler…

Chiron has just entered Aries. It will retrograde back into Pisces on July 4, 2018 through September 25, 2018. Then, Chiron will stay in Aries until 2026. Chiron is a large comet/asteroid, or planetoid, and in Astrology represents the “wounded healer.” In our charts, Chiron shows where we have been wounded and how we work to heal those wounds. Those of us born between 1968-1977 will experience our Chiron return, which can be a time of major awakening and acceptance of who we are (or a crisis of meaning if we have some ego attachments or fears to release yet—either way it will be juicy). A return in astrology means a planet/element has completed a trip around the zodiac since birth. For Chiron, this evolutionary period occurs at age 50-51.

Chiron heals on both an individual and collective level. Medical breakthroughs are one of the highlights of Chiron in Aries. The time that the wounded healer spends visiting Aries provides the opportunity to explicitly face how the world has profited from violence and war. We already see the emergence of issues of identity leading to more courageous and healthy activism despite the painfulness of looking at the many dimensions of things such as police brutality in regard to racism, cultural privilege, historical social justice and imperialism, etc.

We are acknowledging the evidence that nonviolent protest is the best tool in the social justice playbook to fight fascism, despite the narrative that regimes are overthrown by violent mobs or guys with bigger guns. Humanity’s history has carried a social virus that has resulted in violence, aggression and even genocide.  Our own current age is again facing the thoughts and actions from culturally sick individuals who wish to pass along this sort of diseased thinking that strikes at the core of Aries archetypes.

When well, the Aries warrior protects, expands, and inspires the world around them. When sick, wounded, and blood-thirsty, the Aries soldier can act to perpetrate atrocities and destroy the world around them. Chiron can see how the patriarchy has become diseased and toxic and needs to be healed. That healing may begin with opening up the bandages to expose the wounds and cleaning out the places that are infected, which requires enduring and facing a psychically painful solution. Change can involve human suffering, especially when applied to those who currently hold power through violent and desperate methods.

Aries healing is action-oriented. We will see voices rise where pain needs to become power, where the right to of everyone to exist needs to be made real, where vulnerabilities are becoming courage beneath the thrum of today’s inequities, and where we are seeing our weaknesses turning into our strengths. With Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, and moving from Aries into Taurus, those who think systems can be used to exploit and exclude vulnerable people will find they are holding the short end of the stick before the story arc is completed. It would be well for us all to find our courage and resiliency. Use the end of 2018 to prepare to let go of our former idea of ourselves and our lives, and move into our new future after spending time preparing for the fight to come (an Aries thing) during the next seven years. If we have not already become familiar with and accepting of our inner warrior during the past year and a half (I would be surprised if not), the next six months is a good time to get comfortable with the idea of advocacy and using your voice, little by little, for at least one issue, in whatever way you feel comfortable.

Chiron Myth

During June, Chiron is moving forward instead of being in retrograde motion—one of the few slower moving bodies that is NOT retrograde, so you can make progress in considering how you will use Chiron in Aries energies to personally heal yourself. This may mean your body—via exercise/sports, a medical procedure, and clean eating—changes. This may apply to your brain and include mindfulness/cognitive techniques and counseling. This may mean a new endeavor, such as going to school or college or beginning a creative study/fellowship. You might decide to change how you look or advocate for yourself in a way you had not considered previously. This may be breaking out of your shell in many forms and fashions beyond what this astrologer can imagine! Whatever occurs, please realize that I KNOW IT IS REQUIRING COURAGE ON YOUR PART. I am proud of you, you beautiful warrior.

Uranus is also moving forward and has begun to move into Taurus from Aries. Uranus moved into Taurus May 15 and will be there until November 16, 2018. Then, Uranus will turn retrograde and back into Aries until March 6, 2019. After turning direct, Uranus will return to Taurus until 2026. Aries is the sign of masculine Mars, but Taurus is the sign of feminine Venus. Uranus is the planet of everything from breakthroughs to innovations to disruptions; electricity to astrology/occult to networks (digital/your nervous system/human networks). It’s time for the energy of Uranus to begin acting in concert with feminine formats, and instead of sudden Aries changes—the Taurus changes will be deep, slow, and lasting. Where it has seemed, our culture was reformatted in recent years to be programmed toward a masculine preference, that will change to a Venusian preference and focus, as Venus is Taurus’s ruling planet. Uranus can cause abrupt shifts at times, and in Taurus the shifts may be seen in the areas of finance, creativity, and emotions/romance. I might interpret the traditional “romance” theme of Taurus to mean gender laws, structures, and cultural norms and also those having to do with people’s rights dealing with things such as procreation, public safety, domestic violence, and other relational issues.

On a personal level, use Uranus entering Taurus to examine your values. Turn to a sense of internal security instead of looking to the external world for your security, because things are sure to change in ways we can’t anticipate during the next 7 years. Allow relationships to change and your ideas about them to expand and grow. Use every resource to become more flexible over time. Allow yourself to change your ideas on beauty and indulge in innovations in artistic and creative expression to the greatest possible extent. Inventions are encouraged, especially in the home, garden, relations and finances. It is encouraged that you nurture the things that empower your inner sense of the divine feminine or goddess-ness, no matter what gender you identify to be.

Planet Uranus

June 1-2 Mercury in Gemini trines Mars in Aquarius: This is the aspect many of those who are fantastic debaters have in their charts. If you wish to make an argument or communicate about something important, here is your chance. Get some work done, give a speech, enjoy your quick thinking, persuade someone of something, make plans, study, and speak. It’s the ideal time to make serious progress on intellectual tasks.

May 28 – June 5, Grand Water Trine. June 1-4 (exact June 2) Venus in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces and Trine Jupiter (exact June 1) in Scorpio for a grand trine in the water signs.  With both benefics, or lucky planets, Jupiter and Venus, in this grand trine—it is likely to be an emotionally blessed first week of June. It’s possible to expect fortune in the areas of family/home, with teachers/truth/discovery, and in your spiritual life. With trines, it’s important to tune into the energy because you need to seek out the favorable energy—kind of like plugging yourself into the wall of the universe like you’d plug a lamp into an electrical outlet and turn on the switch. The benefits are waiting for you, so take a break or some solitude time for yourself in order to align your heart with the flow of ease that’s available. It may be a little rough after a week or two of opposition energy in the skies, so do some guided relaxations or find a spiritual source to help you wind down and relax. You deserve to feel good with a higher vibration than the environment often offers. Allow yourself now to pop back up to the surface of the pool like an inflated beach ball that has been held under the water.

Destiny’s Active Dance! Mars in Aquarius opposing North Node in Leo: June 3 (exact June 12-17)–September 28

June 28: Mars turns retrograde June 28 at 9 degrees Aquarius.

July 16: Exact opposition again to North Node in Leo on July 16-19.

August 13: Mars retrogrades back into Capricorn on August 13. Mars turns direct on August 25. Mars enters Aquarius again on September 10.

September 20: Exact opposition again to North Node in Leo on September 20-23, being in orb until September 28.

The North Node represents our destiny and is one of the major karmic elements in astrology. Mars is the planet of activity and action. This year, it looks as if destiny has written an action plan. Beginning now, in June. The opposition aspect, or relationship, between two astrological bodies, is a relationship where two bodies sit on the chart at 180 degrees from one another. Since Mars will be retrograding throughout the year, Mars will cross the opposition point to the North Node 3 times during its transit in Aquarius. That means Mars will conjunct the South Node at the times it is opposing the North Node.

This means the militaristic, will-power, controlled approach of imposing power won’t work. It won’t come out the way it’s planned. Remember, it’s the North Node that’s designing the action plan, not the human will. Free will needs to let go into divine will, while the North Node asks us to surrender into a much more playful sense of strength in Leo. So if we focus on Leo’s fixed fire, we can look to develop our ability to be inspirational. We develop our heart and our sense of being sovereign. We need to inspire in order to move forward. We need to re-inspire ourselves daily and work on our own steady inner glow as a way to provide motivation to others. Balanced self-assertion is a good integration to achieve.

June 3-7 (exact June 5) Sun in Gemini conjunct Mercury in Gemini: This is another aspect that portends mental clarity. Plan, express yourself, work on finances, send emails, and communicate in general. Short trips and communication with brothers and sisters and friends is supported. You can also begin business ventures or contracts, bargain, buy and sell with confidence.

June 3-9 (exact June 5) Venus in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn: This is a time to work to make sure you don’t create karmic issues that feel like they manifest as black hole level relationships. You can also resolve past (and past-life) issues. Sometimes things can get out of control internally or even expressed externally. Before dramatic or painful experiences exist, understand yourself and any Pluto/Venusian impulses that could destroy your equanimity by practicing self-regulation. You don’t need to venture into the dark world to understand that Pluto rules crime, hard drugs, dark magic, violence, and the urge to power. Venus’s energy can sometimes move toward feeling comfort through any means available (light, dark, and partly cloudy—just get her out of the storm). Pluto could interact with Venus by triggering addiction and other comfort-seeking behaviors. Allow these transits to help you learn your triggers so you positively transform your life over time. An opposition is good for allowing you to observe and integrate the energies of these two planets, so you know yourself better. You can journal when Venus/Pluto interactions occur and see what transpires during this transit. Later, you can determine if a pattern emerges for you, either emotionally or in your environment.

June 5-7 (exact June 6) Mercury square Neptune in Pisces, June 4-10 (exact June 7) Sun square Neptune in Pisces: The mental clarity of the first few days in June ends as Neptune steps into the scene energetically affecting both our minds and vitality. Instead of putting ourselves out in the front of the stage, it’s a better idea to retreat and get creative or meditative. Play some guitar or other music, do some creative writing, and keep yourself bone-scrapingly honest during this transit. Any deceptions will lead to consequences and convolution. As it is, try to avoid being misinterpreted. Keeping to simple communications will serve you well. Bodily, many folks are extra-sensitive to pharmaceuticals and infections, so be easy on yourself where medications and viruses are concerned. It’s a good time to relax and entertain yourself and/or focus on your spirituality. Feel free to let the larger world go out of focus and use Neptune to connect to a higher source for a little while.

Mercury enters Cancer June 12: When Mercury enters Cancer, we may find ourselves listening and communicating from the heart and depending on our instincts and emotions more than ever. Silence now can be as full of meaning as our words. It’s advised to use a softer lens and help people feel comforted during Mercury’s transit through Cancer this month. Relational bonds will likely be strengthened. Intuition is strong.

New Moon in Gemini, June 13: This new Moon in Gemini is a great time to start something new. The only caveat is that there is a quincunx aspect between the Sun in Gemini and Pluto in Capricorn that asks you to sublimate your ego and let go in order to trust a higher power, because along with trying something new—there is likely a build-up of energy around a turning point in life triggered by an event or person. No easy Yes/No answers exist—likely gray areas exist instead. It’s acceptable to make a decision and try a path as a self-exploration and improvement exercise without knowing the outcome and you’ll likely have a positive impact. Compromise is also acceptable. What would be maladaptive would be ceding your autonomy to prop up your ego fears through addictive behaviors, manipulative acts, or violence (there is Pluto’s low-side, or dark-side, again).

June 13 Mercury in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus: Uranus is the higher octave planet of the mind, related to Mercury. This combination can give brilliant flashes of insight to support the “something new” you may wish to start on the New Moon. The creative talents you may display are limitless. You may also experience psychic insights during the days surrounding this aspect. You might have a passion for science, mathematics, or computers that is supported by Mercury/Uranus. Stimulating the brain is what these two planets do best.

June 13 Mercury in Cancer square Chiron in Aries: There is the chance to either help or hurt communications during this transit. It depends on your ability to harness Chiron’s energies. Either way is fine; we learn and move forward. Sometimes we play the role of the wise elder in helping to heal through communication and serving as a mentor. Sometimes we experience the hurtful thoughts inside our own minds or from the minds of others. Another third option is to become empty of thought and send loving kindness to yourself, to those your love, to those you feel aversion toward, and to the entire world. Use meditation to train your mind.

June 13 Venus enters Leo: Relationships and values, finances, and creativity start to become fun and outwardly focused. You may find yourself looking at how you appear more than feeling sensitive and reflective about these issues. Indulge in some fun in your relationships. Celebrate how you are handling responsibilities to others and to your money matters, especially if you’re handling your responsibilities with aplomb. You can be proud of your possessions, for example. You can show off your appearance. A great month for makeovers, improvements, and shared creative endeavors.

June 13-17 (exact on June 14) Venus square Uranus in Taurus: These are the days when inner impulses toward freedom are clashing with expectations for stability. How might this come out sideways for you? From all indications, these are merely hungry ghosts knocking on the door. Both Leo (Venus) and Taurus (Uranus) are fixed signs, so likely only fears are at play for these few days. As long as you focus on self-regulation and realize you are stable, you should be fine. Turn your thinking towards thoughts of beauty and love and maybe indulge in some good feeling activities to emerge from any challenges that come up for you. You can get a spa treatment, take some nature therapy (a walk amongst the trees, for example), or have a deep talk with a trusted mentor or therapist. Better these activities than overspending and overeating—one of the risks of this aspect.

June 13-18 (exact on June 15) Venus trine Chiron in Aries: Simultaneously to some fears with Venus square Uranus, healing is promoted as Venus is touching on some deep wounds you have accumulated to your core sense of self. You could be learning something profound about who you are during these exact same days. The tension may also be working in tangent to lead to insight that helps you with a major healing and learning moment.

June 15 Mercury oppose Saturn retrograde in Capricorn: Even if you hear bad news or encounter challenges with contracts, communications, etc.—please realize this is the energy in the air due to this challenging aspect. If you can schedule to sign any important documents on some other day this month, avoid June 15. Use the phrase, “let me sleep on it,” if you’re asked to make any decisions. This is the most challenging day because so many people will be experiencing negative thinking and sadness. On the other hand, this is a good aspect for research and independent intellectual work. Serious reflective conversations can benefit. If you find yourself pessimistic, back up and restart your mental process because pessimism would be a mere mirage. “Don’t believe everything you think…”

June 18-22 (exact June 20) Venus conjunct North Node in Leo: When Venus moves to the same degree as the North Node in Leo, it’s karmic timing to examine our values in relationship to other people and to our self-worth as well. We may look at our need to feel special and what that means to our lives and how to move forward in how we express our ego selves. We may make profound decisions about how we handle money or resources, either because of events or because of a relationship. We may make creative choices that impact our spirits and our lives tremendously, and other people may view us differently. We might have past life memories that inform creativity or artistic expression. Our lives will be touched in some way, and it may affect how we appear, as well. Our self-definition will help us to radiate a new awareness moving forward. It is perfectly OK to focus on ourselves because we’re at a growth moment. It’s also great to help others as they learn.

June 18-23 (exact June 20-21) Venus in Leo oppose Mars in Aquarius: There’s a sense of competition when Venus and Mars are opposed. Venus wants to create in Leo—is feeling quite passionate and needs to see meaningful accountability from relationships—while Mars feels there are important intellectual group accomplishments to carry forth—and in unpredictable ways wants to improve things in the community. Luckily, they both agree on improvement. Venus is focused on the individual and Mars is focused on the group. Venus is the heart; Mars the head. Since Venus is conjunct the North Node, this astrologer is inclined to believe the heavens wish for us to take a breather from the intensity of the past few years and listen to the heart. We can’t keep pushing without taking time for self-care and the care of individual people. Aquarius energy is often focused on what is perceived as freedom and can become obstinate at times.

June 19 Neptune turns retrograde at 16 degrees Pisces: Neptune is retrograde a lot—about forty percent of the time. When retrograde occurs, an event or relationship can trigger you to come down to earth in some way and show you a place in your life where you have been passive or hiding out. You may find yourself facing a fear, a pain, or an exposure that you’d like to avoid. Get ready to get assistance. You may wish to find a doctor, therapist, counselor, mentor, coach, or practitioner who can help you manage during the next 6 months or more as you integrate new information about your health and well-being into life. It’s a great time for self-assessment, acceptance, increased self-awareness, self-improvement, and spiritual engagement for all of us. Our journeys are constantly evolving and if we’re lucky, they are long. We have a lot of learning, growing, and challenges to embody. Neptune will help us connect to the highest expression of our selves.

There’s a water grand trine when Neptune turns retrograde that you can “mine” if you put out some spiritual request energy. The potential of this can go untapped, however, if we don’t actively seek out and plug into the water energy opportunity that will be available. On June 19-20-21, the grand trine of Mercury in Cancer, Jupiter in Scorpio, and Neptune in Pisces occurs.

This is a great healer and creative energizer. If there is any need for support in setting off on a journey, Jupiter and Mercury will provide support on these days. Also, these planets will help with legal, religious, research, study, language, philosophy, and business successes. This period would be a great time to sign contracts. Mercury and Neptune provide support for poetry and creative writing, music, and dance. Your empathy will be increased. Senses will be fine-tuned. You can communicate well beyond language. Jupiter and Neptune provide a community spirit—hope, optimism, generosity. A sense of freedom and generosity pervades the atmosphere if you are attuned. Dreams, visions, and meditations allow you to feel happy and content. Romance and friendship are abundant. So any spiritual requests consciously called in at this time to help with the adjustments that a typical Neptune retrograde kicks off will be strong and supportive for you.

June 20 Sun enters Cancer: Thoughts turn toward caring and nurturing yourself and others through this month. You may also begin to focus more on the home. Either home improvements or being more home-based. You may experience emotional vulnerabilities either in yourself or others. Discussions about feelings and protection may be overheard more. Family is a major area of concern. People may retreat into their “shell” as the crab is the animal represented by the sign of Cancer. Read some good books, act the nurse, do some home-making.

June 20-25 (exact June 22) Sun in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus: Although routines may not be appealing or even possible, creativity and comfort is highlighted as you’re encouraged to try something new. Flashes of insight occur, and you have the freedom to try something new and exciting. New discoveries and changes are possible.

June 20-27 (exact June 23) Sun in Cancer square Chiron in Aries: Our charm and self-respect can take a hit under this aspect. It’s a challenge to keep our center in a state of steady fusion and avoid “sun-flares” when Chiron and the Sun are in hard aspect. We can feel like we need to over-compensate to prove ourselves or fall into a victim mode and let others make all our decisions for us or “save” us. It’s good to let ourselves meditate on keeping steady. During this time, we may feel the world is filled with authority figures who seem to have the answers. It is OK to be a self-advocate even if we feel weakened or insecure, even if sometimes we are not up to a high skill level on being able to communicate yet. Also, look out for staying out of addictive behaviors during these days.

June 21-24, Mercury oppose Pluto in Capricorn (exact June 23): A good time for research and relationship counseling. A bad time to put forth propaganda or deal with psychological abuse from anyone. Avoid pressure from people or, alternatively, using your own power to intimidate others. Not a time to engage in debate. Avoid conspiracy theories. Investigate things.

June 22-27 (exact June 25) Venus square Jupiter in Scorpio: A good time for enjoying yourself (but look out for over-indulging in things like food and drink) but not so good for concentrating and working. Also, watch out for spending too much money, as well. This is the least stressful of the square aspects. Just try to act in moderation.

Full Moon in Capricorn, June 27: This Full Moon is conjunct to Saturn, and Saturn is retrograde in Capricorn. This brings out the elements of Saturn that have to do with restriction and the home/family (Cancer is opposite Capricorn and the Sun sits in Cancer). June 24-30 (exact June 26) Sun in Cancer opposes Saturn retrograde in Capricorn. So, balancing out needs in regard to structuring and learning could cause you to be disrupted somehow in your home or away from your home during the two weeks that follow this full moon, prior to the eclipse on July 12. The good news is that most of the crisis is embedded in conscious or subconscious fears that don’t appear to manifest. These are mirages in your mind alone. You will learn about that in July. For June, your challenges will be with the home, parents, and children. You may experience feelings of rejection or depression that can be ameliorated through emotional maturity and self-discipline. Healing can be achieved through examining your own “stuff” and using Saturn’s tests as an opportunity to become an ethical actor in the drama of your life. Nurturing others and closer bonding is a high likelihood and valuable outcome as you recognize and shake free of past beliefs and habits.

June 29 Mercury moves into Leo: Mercury in Leo means we will all feel the urge to talk about ourselves a little more loudly and get out there to promote ourselves in the spotlight. Selfie time! Get your photos taken and share them with your friends. Enjoy Facebook and Instagram! Enjoy feeling confident in the community.

June 29-July 1, Mercury in Leo square Uranus in Taurus (exact June 30): A lack in concentration during this period is offset by the excitement to the change in daily routine. There can be unexpected news, an increase in the tempo of life, an electric feeling (even nervousness/anxiety), and maybe communication mishaps. You could miss some vital information, but on the upside, you could see an innovative perspective you have not previously considered. You may have original thoughts and breakthrough to a new level of consciousness. Avoid making firm plans, remain flexible, and enjoy the unexpected.

June 29-July 2, Mercury in Leo trine Chiron in Aries (exact July 1): What a lovely, healing aspect to end the month upon! A great time for a healing conversation. This is a healing voice bringing remedies and messages to us all, through the element of fire.  Aries and Leo mean action and movement, and Mercury is a fast worker in the zodiac, and Mercury in Leo can provide a fixed fire energy to complement the Chiron wounded healer – in Aries Chiron is an inspirational force. This means to me that the things that happened in June will light a healing fire for July. Fireworks celebration, anyone?

May 2018 Astrological Trends

All month long:

Jupiter in Scorpio continues to trine Neptune in Pisces May 1-September 9 (Exact on May 25 and August 19). This is a long-term influence that provides an influence toward community, a spirit of giving and receiving, and a connection to the larger universe to provide us with the justice and expansion. It requires you to reach for your visions, however, and in May there is a lot of opportunity for you to connect with your higher self and with collective energies as well as higher powers to create heaven on earth as much as possible. The idea that we are co-creators of heaven, instead of passive recipients to some authority, is a very real part of spiritual and moral development. As we use our relationship with the divine, so the world around us flows. We progress from a concrete set of understandings into a more flexible sense of reality, and Jupiter and Neptune can help us to advance our human experience into new territory this year if we allow ourselves to grow. This involves not only transcendence but becoming microscopic with our attention to what it means to be human and in relationship on all levels—and Pisces and Scorpio take us to every dimension we can imagine. That is the gift from water signs. Water provides greater resistance than air, greater flexibility than earth, and greater soothing than fire. Scorpio is the depth and power of the largest ocean. Pisces is the integration of the element itself—able to take any form—from ice to liquid to steam. The trine aspect is beneficial, allowing you to find your depth in creative projects, social justice, spiritual activities, a higher standard of values, ethics, and helping others, defining and institutionalizing human rights, helping others informally, making sacred spaces, mentoring and teaching, and many other manifestations I am unable to imagine.

Chiron moved from Pisces into Aries on April 17. The first few degrees (zero and one) on any sign—especially Aries, which is the first sign of the zodiac, so essentially the first two degrees of the entire 360 degree circle of the zodiac—are powerful. May is a time where we are getting out of complacency. It’s a time where one’s sense of being has been violated and we are either examining that or a wound may be perpetrated. Head wounds occur in the sign of Aries. Over-compensation may be observed, when people try to be the first in everything. Hand-in-hand with this is pioneering service in which people come to be of great service to humanity. Chiron engenders the energy of healing and self-regeneration. Alternatively, it brings to bear the perpetrator and the maverick.

Saturn in Capricorn quincunx the North Node in Leo May 1-31. All month long, you may keep wondering if the changes you are making are pushing too far. How will you do when the you, you have always known, pushes past into new territory? You will have to please yourself as you move forward and may need to develop some very new ways of evaluating how to be in the world that are uncomfortable. What you have been taught up to now may not suffice for the future and will need to be adjusted. The old rules no longer support what is necessary for the evolution of your soul’s journey. Rethinking and restructuring your automatic behaviors, systems, rules, and boundaries may become a daily activity as you integrate your changing identity.

Within May:

May 1-2, Sun square North Node in Leo. We all are at a point of destiny where you need to decide if you’re going to cling to the past (and this is a past-life link) or move into your future. It is a point of allowing and letting go. The key is to allow ourselves to feel our own unique identity as much as possible, as the sign of Leo is asking us to let go of the past in favor of a creative future. Be willing to create something new. The Sun in Taurus asks you to embody the new at this time.

Venus in Gemini sextile North Node in Leo May 1-5. A lovely karmic aspect that allows you to meet partners, enjoy loving relations, and communicate romantically about issues involving destiny.

May 1-3, Mars conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. A drive to push through is stimulated. Use it wisely and instead of ruthlessly getting your way or engaging in power struggles, use it to exercise or finish something.

May 1-6 Jupiter Sextile Pluto. This is the end of a transit that peaked in April that provided legal and business influence. You could have the ability to better yourself or have found solutions or resources to improve your conditions, especially professionally.

Sun in Taurus sextiles Neptune in Pisces May 2-10. This is a time to focus on the quiet sensitivity inside that allows you to read people and situations. For example, my experience is that I find myself seeing a few moments into the future. It becomes difficult to distinguish between the present moment and a few seconds into the future because my senses tell me what is about to occur. It takes great attention to ferret out what is being presented as a prediction vs. what is being experienced, and with Neptune dissolving the barriers between dimensions, time, etc., how much does it matter? Well, it matters when we are driving. It may be interesting to see how Neptune and the Sun interplay for you—does it show up in your body, like it does for me, or in your dreams perhaps? Do you hear ancestors (voices) or auditory messages? Have you tried automatic writing, journaling or creative arts?

Venus in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces May 4-10. Take care with all perceptions in relationships. You and others may not be able to see clearly through the veil of this stress aspect, which is no big deal in a healthy relationship for a few days. In a toxic situation, however, this can escalate to a downward spiral. Also, take care not to do any self-harm in the realm of substance abuse, overeating, and over-indulging in anything injurious.

May 6-15 Mars in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries. You have a wild side that wants to be unharnessed. How can you do this and keep from blowing up the world? This aspect states we may not be aware of how our desire to experiment may lead us to mistakes and unintended consequences that affect places that have restrictions, rules, and structures.

May 5-8, Mercury in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn. The more you push your thoughts and theories onto others, the more they will push back. You know you’re in a zero-sum game when it’s more about the argument than the content. Keeping an open mind is the actual win during this transit.

Then, May 8-13 Mercury in Aries moves into square with Mars in Capricorn, which has just moved past its conjunction with Pluto. Remember to act with caution and tact during these days. Rushing and impulsive actions will lead to wrong conclusions, rushed decisions, and foot-in-mouth situations. These could result in arguments, disagreements, and fights. Avoid decisions and negotiations where you can. In fact, stay in your room under the covers. Yes, do that. Or run a mile in a secluded forest.

Sun in Taurus opposes Jupiter in Scorpio May 5-12. Sun trine Pluto in Capricorn May 8-15, On May 15, the New Moon also trines Pluto in Capricorn. This New Moon and the Sun aspects to Jupiter and Pluto in the days surrounding it portend a time of deep and intense personal experiences for people where they examine their egos and find success only if they do not let greed go to their heads. It says that success will fall into place with very little effort based upon past previous good deeds and service to others. Those with tendencies toward lack of self-control may have trouble with excess and wasting any good fortune that arises, giving way to the opportunity to examine their own actions and internal drives in order to promote growth (which could still be seen as good fortune). Pluto is adding a depth to the karmic nature of the personal transformation at this New Moon.

Also, May 8-16, Mercury is sidling up to be in conjunction with Uranus at the final degree of Aries and as they both change signs from Aries to Taurus. Then Mercury moves into Taurus on May 13. Uranus moves into Taurus on May 15. Mercury conjunct Uranus at 29 degrees and then at 0 degrees gives a boost of energy to the already strong insights you get from the conjunction. You can do your brilliant thinking on these days of the month. You may find you have flashes of insight and speak a lot faster. Maybe you can barely keep up with your thoughts. If you want to wander outside your routines, it is a great time for that, because you’ll be easily bored. Go ahead and be erratic and interesting.

Then, Mercury trines Saturn in Capricorn while squaring the north node in Leo from May 16-21. Now, with Saturn’s influence, it is time to settle down and concentrate. You can catch up on paperwork and attend to details during these days. Corral the ideas that flew into life the past week. While the square to the North Node may have you wishing to play, spend some time at work, too.

On May 16 Mars enters Aquarius. Mars in Aquarius provides energy for a larger picture in life. We may change our focus to humanitarian and social justice issues.

Then Mars in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus May 16-27. Mars in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus is different in that Mars in Aquarius amps up the social rebellion and disruption energy while Uranus in Taurus changes its focus of unexpected events to the subjects of relationships, finance, and creativity. Mars and Uranus still want to express something wild together—it’s the subject matters that change.

Venus sextile Uranus May 17–21. An excellent time to meet new friends and be sociable. Also, a good time to indulge in entertainment and creativity.

Venus enters Cancer May 19. We may find ourselves feeling very tender and focused on our family relationships during the time of Venus in Cancer. Our emotions come to the forefront.

Venus square Chiron in Aries May 19-23. Conflicts may emerge in relationships. You may feel others doubt you, or you may have an inner conflict regarding a relationship. Balance may be what you’re seeking, or you may desire more than you feel you’re getting.

Sun moves into Gemini May 21. We will find ourselves wanting to be with people more. Our curious nature emerges, although our energy may scatter as well. We may or may not focus but we will enjoy our Gemini month.

Mars trine Sun in Gemini May 21-29. This is one of the best aspects for self-confidence and creativity. Start new projects, take initiative, enjoy your partners, and remain conscious of what you are doing. Use your instincts and use this boost from the stars.

From May 21-26, Mercury in Taurus opposes Jupiter in Scorpio while trining Pluto in Capricorn from May 24-27. You may be able to talk anyone into anything while Mercury trines Pluto, but the big Mercury-Jupiter ideas you have need harnessing. There’s a danger here of unrealistic expectations that needs to be narrowed down to what is achievable and there’s the sign for a need to focus and make things smaller than what is pictured in the mind. This is especially true in business at this time. So be willing to questions the ideas that emerge during this opposition. Find the balance between boring and disruptive.

Venus in Cancer opposes Saturn in Capricorn May 24-29. Taking a retreat will serve you well if you run into relationship problems. Trying to work things out will only make them worse. Possible financial difficulties will be helped through preparation work.

May 29, Mercury moves into Gemini. Mercury is at home in Gemini. Your mental faculties will be at their peak and your mind should feel stimulated and happy.

Full Moon in Sagittarius May 29. The Full Moon sextiles Mars. There’s a playful and competitive spirit to this time. You can feel compelled to seek intimacy with a significant other, family, and friends. Fight for a worthy cause, seek refuge with your clan/tribe, and find a new mate this Full Moon.

May 30-June 3, Mercury in Gemini trines Mars in Aquarius. Mind and motion will be moving in harmony. Enjoy a time at the end of the month where your mouth and your hands will be working together in your life, even if they are working at high speed.

April 2018 Astrological Trends

Springtime Morning Prayer: May my life and my efforts benefit [insert specific person or group]. May they be happy. May they be free from suffering. May they dwell in the connection to spirit and live in their highest potential as their highest selves.

April arrives with Mercury retrograde snuggling close to the Sun in Aries, amplifying its effect of intuition and action-oriented life review. Saturn and Mars, who are moving together in Capricorn, are still in loose square to the Mercury/Sun duo, so the question is: have you been acting and thinking out of your highest level of moral development? If so, you may find yourself in a joyous place, resolving things that have been weighing on your mind, with Venus having just moved into her sumptuous home sign of Taurus after her conjunction with Uranus at the end of March. In relationships and finances, this could have brought up some unexpected urges and situations that should calm down in April.

If, instead, you find stress occurring as April opens, spend time actively engaging Saturn’s principles of letting go of your ego in order approach life humbly. Saturn’s lessons ask us to play fair with no exceptions and to learn to become our highest selves, both in the material and the spiritual dimensions. Mercury retrograde asks us to review the past for any stress points that may have triggered our behavior in the present. The current astrology can set us up nicely to affect the future positively—whether that means changing how we approach our health, our relationships, how we treat ourselves and talk to ourselves inside our minds, or how we survive in the world. With Mars in the mix, it’s a time for direct action and change. We can choose to change habits, move, journey, change our minds, journal, travel, make an announcement, change a policy, etc. Easter and Monday, April 2 are the days to inspire these generous changes.

Saturn Ring

The Sun moves into exact conjunction with the North Node Monday, April 2. That’s also when Venus in Taurus begins to approach a trine aspect to the Mars/Saturn conjunction in Capricorn. What a perfect day to begin implementing changes you are inspired to make, as the trine earth energy will boost your potential for success. This influence lasts through about April 11, so labor-intensive projects can be planned for these dates.

I would be remiss to fail to mention the romance potential of this steamy Venus-Mars earth trine! Its connection is even longer. Mars moves away from Saturn (so the heavy energy falls away on April 11), but the steamy romance energy continues all the way from April 2 through April 17 or so. Please enjoy wisely… including if you’re looking for times to “put a ring on it,” plan a Spring marriage, or make any romantic gesture. Especially after Mercury turns direct on April 14, romantic commitments are favored, although I would never let Mercury retrograde sway me from planning anything, given other favorable aspects.

April 15 is the New Moon in Aries. This adds a lot of energy to new romantic beginnings right after Mercury stations direct. The Sun and Moon are conjunct Uranus on this New Moon. This is another extra boost for the unexpected. A lot of spiritual support, intuition, and emotion comes bundled with this New Moon. I hope everyone will start something new that is dear to their heart on April 15! I expect unexpected good news.

The day that Mercury turns direct, the Sun approaches its exact conjunction with Uranus in late degrees of Aries. People may be realizing they are stronger than they had imagined, or new (especially scientific or humanitarian/revolutionary) ideas may be pioneered on these days, from April 14 through 20.

On the day Mercury turns direct, a long-term aspect that is present all month becomes exact. Jupiter sextile Pluto is a powerful behind-the-scenes positive aspect that is bringing positive change along with it. This is something quite beyond personal control, as they are both non-personal, outer planets and furthermore, located in signs that have to do with the depths of experience (Jupiter in Scorpio) and the structures of the world (Pluto in Capricorn). There are people involved in the changes, and maybe we are even some of them, but we probably won’t even understand our parts, or the profound nature of our present actions, until well after the unfolding events of the present time. So, we are living in exciting times but the best we can do is what is in front of us, and there is nothing we can do to move things along. We are all here to play our parts; live our dharma, so to speak. It’s a lesson in fate and destiny combined.

On April 20, the Sun moves into Taurus and the world’s heartbeat mellows if you put your stethoscope down to the ground. You may feel like getting out to nature lots more for the end of April and May. Gardening and general physical health can be a very enjoyable focus.

From April 15 through April 20, Venus in Taurus opposes Jupiter in Scorpio. Great time to relax as long as you keep from over indulging. Probably going to be difficult to get much work done during these dates. Try to get stuff done in the early part of April. With Venus also trine Pluto mid-month in Capricorn, issues of romance and money may emerge. Relationships may seem particularly intense or obsessions amplified. One thing that may be favored is decorating or redesigning.

April 17, Saturn begins its retrograde period. This will last until September 6. Saturn will move from 9 degrees Capricorn to 2 degrees Capricorn during these months. Saturn is the planet that tests us. Like any good teacher, Saturn will retest us and allow for extra credit when we need some makeup work. So whatever issues we’ve been going over during the past 3-4 months, prepare to go over them again, and deeper. For me this, will likely be body and weight loss issues. I will continue to need to be explicitly clear and clean about my intentions to treat my body with the utmost attention during the upcoming Saturn transit, maintaining a rigorous exercise routine in addition to a drastically changed eating lifestyle. It has had major results, and Saturn is asking for even more. Capricorn is about restructuring, and the restructuring that has happened has been physical for me (earth energy at its finest for sure). What is being restructured and restructured again for you? Likely it will be as humbling and enriching as it has been for this friendly astrologer.

Pluto turns retrograde in Capricorn on April 22, and this retrograde lasts until September 30. Pluto will move from 19 degrees Capricorn to 17 degrees Capricorn. Pluto retrograde asks us to examine how we use our power and control. Are we letting others control us or do we have healthy self-control? How are our boundary issues going? It’s a nice time to get reflective and think about empowerment of ourselves and others, and turn toward positive instead of obsessive behaviors.

April 23 (exact April 25) through April 28, Mercury returns to square Saturn again as it moves forward. This time Saturn is retrograde. It changes the dynamic so that the hard mental work required may feel like an albatross you are carrying for these few days. Communicating may be difficult.

April 21 through May 2, Mars moves into conjunction with Pluto. It’s a good time to work independently on what you’re passionate about. There’s a lot of intense ambition in the air and it’s hard to see straight because people are so intent on getting what they want during a Pluto-Mars conjunction. Like they can’t stop themselves from ruthlessly moving forward. So, keep it low-key if you can. Use it as a burst of creativity instead of a burst of aggression. Instead use the Sun trine Saturn aspect’s energy to focus on mutual respect and understanding. If you want to take on more responsibility, look at the ethics and hard work needed to get there, and think about what guidance you would need from an elder.

March 2018 Astrological Trends

March comes in like a lamb, and goes out like a lion.

BRITON RIVIÈRE, UNA AND LION, 19th Century

BRITON RIVIÈRE, UNA AND LION, 19th Century

March 1 starts with a Full Moon in Virgo and Venus trine Jupiter (arguably astrology’s most beneficial aspect). While you want to watch for overindulgence, you can find yourself enjoying a holiday, relaxation, love, investment, the arts, creativity, and expressions of affection of all sorts. One of the overindulgences to look out for is idealizing others, however, with the Full Moon on the Virgo-Pisces axis. Make sure to keep from exposing yourself to the predatory nature of others as you traverse the social world. Use good and faithful judgment and keep your wits about you as the Sun is hugging Neptune in Pisces and the Moon is in opposition aspect to both of them. This gives a flavor of not only Jupiter over-indulgence, but Neptune self-deception as well. It’s so nice to have a soft view of the world, but carry the skill of discernment in your heart alongside your higher self.

Also, be aware this can manifest on a physical level. Indulgence in substances such as alcohol or processed sugar can weaken your immune system and render you susceptible to an infection or virus. Items such as fast food can leave chemicals in our bodies that render our digestive systems in shock. It’s difficult to understand our sensitivities unless we give ourselves a break from the environments that surround us, and take a break from the constant barrage of messages about substances and indulgences. Advertisers would have us busying ourselves with constant thoughts of what do I need next? What might we think instead if we were free from their brain washing? What does true relaxation even mean?

Equally, mind-viruses or energy viruses can be passed from person-to-person if we are not minding our personal energy space. If we find we’ve picked up toxic vibes such as anger or aggression following an interaction, we can breathe in golden energy like an egg around our body and breathe out a waterfall of gray or silver going out of our feet until we feel centered again.

The Full Moon trine Saturn assures me that there is plenty of support for us to find solid ground during these first days of the month amidst the two weeks around this Full Moon phase. If you are wondering, trust common sense, responsibility, and rational thinking over instinct at this time. Trust your mentors and ancestors. Also, if you are doing things that are healthy, exercising, seeing medical providers, etc., during the first few weeks of March consider yourself on track.

One technique to harness the Saturn and Pluto earth and Neptune and Jupiter water energies during this month is visualization. Strong visualization skills reprogram our subconscious mind through the reticular activating system (RAS). Since the mind thinks and communicates in pictures instead of words, using images like in a movie to imagine your reality makes your body respond as if the images in your mind are real. When you use your senses, and feel as fully as possible into the visualization, you can create new realities into your life. Spend a few silent minutes each morning in March to inhabit the future you would like to create. This will help you achieve your heart’s desires!

March 9-13, Mercury in Aries squares Saturn in Capricorn. It seems like a stress aspect involving communications between individuals and institutions or systems. It may be hard to find the right things to say and you will perhaps want to do your intense mental work alone rather than in a group, or you may need help from experts.

March 11-16, Venus follows up with a square to Saturn, implying a blow or challenge to one’s personal sense of self-worth. It may be difficult to feel independent and accepted, so if you feel a little down during these days, please know it is temporary. The stress may show up in the areas of finances, creativity, or romance/love. You may wish for support but you may end up needing to be the one supporting others. Make sure to attend to/keep up with any responsibilities on these days instead of giving in to the urge to ignore them. During the same time frame, March 10-16, the Sun in Pisces trines Jupiter in Scorpio, so you can use this sister aspect, one of the best aspects in all of astrology, to call in good fortune. Even though Saturn asks you to be responsible and thorough, you can be assured your efforts come with outstanding gifts! It may be the old adage—played by the music of the stars—what is good for us does not always feel good. Your benefits could be personal, spiritual, or material.

The New Moon occurs on March 17 at 28 degrees Pisces. The Moon and the Sun are in conjunction to Chiron in Pisces and in square aspect to Mars in Sagittarius. Mars also Trines Uranus in Aries. Chiron is the wounded healer and the wounds being examined late in Pisces may have to do with either extreme misfortune (poverty, adverse childhood events, suicide, the death or loss of a loved one, etc.), gender issues (with the Mars aspect), or accidents (plane, auto, drowning, etc.)/natural events (floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.). The New Moon square Mars suggests a challenge to our ego self that can only be overcome by connecting to the higher self and that this needs to be channeled constructively. This may manifest on a personal or a collective level. The beneficial connection between Mars and Uranus seems to mean that sudden insights are possible at this time if tactics like curiosity and investigation are used. Look for the unexpected—meetings, chance encounters, fleeting thoughts, intuition, inspiration, quick changes, science, the online world, technology… The Uranian distractions are likely the path forward. Instead of sticking to routines, make sure you follow the signs from spirit. Allow yourself the excitement of Uranus’s voice in your life from March 8-19. The square from Chiron to Mars is active from March 8-19.

planets

The square from the Sun to Mars is active from March 16-17 and then again on March 20-29. When the Sun moves into Aries on March 20, and Mars has moved into Capricorn the aspect becomes a fire-earth energy instead of a fire-water energy. This means there are Sun ego drives that want to start a fire with actions to defend and fight, while Mars has moved into Capricorn, where people are domineering and hide behind “the system” when threatened. It’s simply a great time to retreat and keep to your own counsel, allowing yourself to use this fire-earth energy for personal rituals and prayers instead of falling for the bait of public debate and discourse. You will know you’re on the right track if you end up following your exercise or health plan instead of ending up exhausted. Use the Mars-Sun connection physically and spiritually instead. During this same period, Mars is approaching its conjunction with Saturn, which means Saturn is asking astrologically that we test our personal actions for accountability.

Between March 16-22, an aspect occurs that is very dear to my heart because it occurs prominently in my chart! Venus and Mercury are conjunct in Aries. The Venus-Mercury conjunction provides a wonderful time for diplomacy and communication about love and creativity. The head and heart are together, and in Aries this is a passionate union! Instead of focusing on the issues of the day, focus on the people you love if you would like to be in relationship during this time frame. It’s a wonderful time to spend telling the people you care for that you love them. If you would like to surprise a loved one with an expression of your love, this is a nice time to do that. You can find peace and enjoyment in creativity, writing, making new friends, and pioneering or initiating something new (even a new partnership).

In fact, the Mercury-Venus conjunction, and what it brings up for you, previews the issues that you will deal with during the Mercury retrograde period that begins March 22 and ends April 15. If you are meeting new friends or lovers, you may feel strong feelings of déjà vu or have past life memories during the retrograde phase. You may find yourself processing thoughts of friends you have not thought about in a long time, or encountering people from the past—since Venus is a social planet. You may examine and transform parts of yourself that have profound effects on your social interactions and social self, as Venus square Pluto occurs during the Mercury retrograde period. There is a new start energy in Aries that will not be denied, as if life is planting us like seeds in its garden. It’s usually fast and furious when it comes to Aries. In Aries, events do not always unfold skillfully and smoothly. Pluto’s involvement means a depth of change that cuts into the arena of “beyond our control” which signifies life is being lived through us and we sometimes become achingly aware that we are not the center of the universe. When touched by this vastness, our coping mechanisms can sometimes turn toward attempting to control more and more of our personal space. This would be a mistake. A better approach would be to relax and accept the Pluto changes and learn new ways to be as the Aries Spring equinox does its best to renew our lives. We want to be the seeds that take root and blossom; not the seeds that fly away on the winds of change.

March 26-30, Venus conjuncts Uranus in Aries and there is an energy of attraction to the unusual, extraordinary, and exceptional in the area of romance, creativity, and finance. This is a fleeting energy so allow yourself some room for expression but make sure to understand it’s a passing curiosity and passing impulse. Uranus can give a wild stir to the imagination for a few days.

March 26-April 1, the Sun in Aries squares Saturn in addition to Mars in Capricorn. This adds a more sobering influence to the end of March. In addition to Saturn (in its home sign of Capricorn at present—so its influence is strengthened) asking Mars if actions are practical and prudent, that wisdom guides the warrior, and that anger is transformed into disciplined and long-term actions—Saturn will also challenge the Sun in Aries to assure that self-control, self-discipline, and wisdom rule the day over the abdication to ego and authoritarianism. The karmic nature of these dramas is assured astrologically because the Sun is also trine the North Node in Leo, and the North Node and Saturn are Astrology’s two main signifiers of karma. This means a sober feeling and some possible internal/projected conflicts occur near month’s end.

What occurs for you—is on schedule and is important for you to process as part of your fate and destiny. The stars, angels, and deities are watching you and rooting for you! They are on your side and wishing for your success in overcoming any conflicts and karma that emerges at this time. Keep an eye out for your particular part to play. (Again, you may not be the center of any of the drama—and in that case—I applaud you for having very little karma to work out! Yay!)

The March 31 Full Moon at 10 degrees Libra integrates the themes of Saturn’s wisdom and Mercury’s retrograde (Since the Sun and Mercury are conjunct in Aries), as well as the North Node’s destiny touchpoint at this moment in time. This Full Moon asks us to take a full in-breath and out-breath and truly stop to realign ourselves (quincunx aspect to Neptune in Pisces) before moving forward this Spring. Much is asked of us in life at this time. A Full Moon is a time for us to reflect (reflecting the sunlight at night) and using the Mercury influence to do some deep journaling on this day—it’s a Saturday—would be a very beneficial action for you to consider. You could do this as a vision board or as a written creative project. What a gift it would be to cleanse your psychic palette before moving into April. You can even write this out as a dialogue between the planets! Ask the planets about their message(s) to you moving forward. The Moon in Libra will be thrilled to channel the messages for you.

February 2018 Astrological Trends

Words have weight as the month opens, so what you say matters and you can back up your proposals with action. This is the time of year when things will get done with Aquarius Mercury and Sagittarius Mars in sextile aspect. Make sure to give voice to your projects and thoughts and add the extra step of following through with those things you would like see come to fruition, February 1 through 5. This Could be personal as well, including romantic gestures such as asking someone on a date.

However, be careful. The Aquarius Sun is opposing the North Node in Leo (the Sun’s home sign) on the first few days of February. This is asking us to say what is important and not use our words in knee-jerk fashion. We need to use our wisdom and summon our better angels during the first week of February because what we do matters. If you’re not firmly in your integrity—don’t act or talk. Your words and deeds will have impact, and what is happening is in a fixed sign, which has long-term impact. Stay away from the need to cause trouble—it’s one of those karmic instances where the trouble will return to you three-fold (or ten-fold). Mercury follows the Sun to oppose the North Node February 8-10, asking you to use your heart and learn from new relationships to move forward to stop from being stuck in the past.

Similarly, Aquarius Venus squares Jupiter in Scorpio February 1 through 7. While it is a square aspect, it’s the friendliest square of the entire zodiac. This means it may be challenging to work hard during this time but it is a time for happiness, optimism, generosity, socializing and beauty. The problems will arise when you attempt to be serious. The problems to watch out for are overspending and overeating. If you’re prone to problems with your ethics, you could also have problems, since you might minimize the consequences of your social actions.

For freedom lovers, the Aquarian Venus sextiles Aries Uranus in transit from February 4 through 9 can be a time of meeting soul mates. This as a fun and exciting time for all of us when we can focus on artistic and stimulating endeavors. It’s a time to try new things and set out on adventures. You can feel free to take a risk and let go of inhibitions. It’s a nice time for entertainment and enjoying nature.

From February 7 to February 13, the Aquarius Sun squares Jupiter in Scorpio.  This is a caution to pull back your emotions of over-optimism. Keep yourself from over-spending and over-eating. Take your addictions seriously, since this time is a trigger for feeling over-confident about your ability to indulge. You won’t really get away with it. Focus on one project and one project alone to be successful, instead of attempting to do multiple things. You can go nowhere in a hurry or plod along slowly and get there in due time. Trust the process and not your ego, in other words. Both the Sun and Jupiter are planets that have ego attached to them, so try not to let them overwhelm you during this week.

Venus enters Pisces on February 10. You may begin to feel you want to merge and be at one with your partner. Heck, you yearn to be at-one with the universe. You also enjoy sharing inspirational activities with your loved ones such as listening to beautiful music to visiting nature to enjoying art.

This brings us to the powerful Aquarius solar eclipse on February 15. This New Moon eclipse is conjunct Mercury. These three planets are sextile Uranus in Aries and they square Jupiter in Scorpio. Additionally, Venus in Pisces sextiles Saturn in Capricorn, Mars in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces, and Jupiter in Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn. The effects of a solar eclipse are active for up to six months and are arguably the most important influence this month, so let’s break these down.

The Solar Eclipse relationship to Mercury and Uranus, with the eclipse occurring in Aquarius, Uranus being the ruling planet of the sign Aquarius, and Uranus being the higher-octave planet of Mercury, indicates there are some unexpected humanitarian insights about to flow through. Communications and conversations (Mercury) will kick off (Uranus) long-lasting focus and solutions (Aquarius is a fixed sign). The Sun and Moon are our heart and emotions, our mother and father, and our male and female archetypes. Mercury, the Moon, and Uranus are often the most psychic and intuitive elements of the zodiac. The higher self in all of us may be called forth during the next six months in unexpected ways, to work through the heart (the Sun).

In the environment of this new change, the other aspects portend a conservative approach to life. Venus sextile Saturn again means it’s a good time for long-term relationships (marriages are favored). Mars square Neptune means it’s a bad time to deceive and lie to anyone. Honesty is favored. People’s imaginations will be on high alerts with Mercury intertwined in this eclipse, so you might as well realize that people’s fears are intertwined with their mental health during the next several months. Therapy is a good idea if you are feeling yourself out and feeling unsteady. Jupiter sextile Pluto should naturally provide you with opportunities to change in the most positive direction in your life. It would behoove you to take advantage of transformational events and opportunities that life provides for you. It is definitely in your best interest to go with the flow of change at this juncture. Allow yourself to be transformed and get the help that you need that is available. We all need help to become our future selves. Letting it pass by would be a mistake because opportunities to transform don’t present themselves often. Education opportunities and chances for positive change abound right now. The nice thing about Aquarius is that the changes will only uncover more of your unique self.

On February 17, Mercury enters Pisces. The mental focus changes to the imagination and to sensing others’ thoughts. You may have difficulty distinguishing reality from fantasy. During this month, don’t be surprised if you experience periods where you seem to disappear into a dream world before being jolted back to reality.

On February 18, the Sun enters Pisces. Our hearts become drawn to the sacred, mystical, and spiritual side of life. The harsh realities are not so interesting and it’s important during the month of Pisces to set aside time for meditation, quiet time or artistic pursuits. Quiet activities such as sitting on a beach or listening to soothing music may appeal, in fact any activity which suits a gentle nature. Otherwise, escapism may prevail. Find a channel for creative energies.

From February 19 though February 23, Venus conjuncts, or meets up with, Neptune in Pisces. This is a wonderful time for compassion and oneness. Stay away from harsh energies and focus on relaxing and mindful connection with the Divine, with one another, with oneself.  There is potential for romance, heightened creativity, and higher states of being with these two luminaries connecting. Neptune is the higher-octave of Venus, so it is a good time to indulge is spiritual retreat or spiritual or romantic activity. The beauty of the world and of life may seem breathtaking to you during this time. Love. That is all.

At the same time, Mercury in Pisces will be sextile Saturn in Capricorn, so you can focus and get a lot done on work matters or projects. Serious study, research, and contemplation is available during this transit. Discussions will be serious and communication that is honest will be powerful. Teaching / learning is favored.

This is in contrast to February 21 through 28, when Pisces Venus and Sagittarius Mars will be in square aspect. This will be a time of potential relational difficulties if there is underlying tension. Clashing egos can be seen during Venus-Mars squares. Issues of control and freedom may occur. The pressure-valve may need to be released for one or more partners. On February 24 through February 26, Mercury conjuncts Neptune, making clear communication an issue. It may be better to meditate and write one’s thoughts our on those days rather than try to talk to others, since Neptune can cloud judgment or cloud the clear receipt of messages. Instead use the Sun sextile Saturn to focus on meeting a goal or seeking out a wise person to support you. You may feel socializing is a bit of frivolity anyway under this Saturn influence.

At the end of the Month, Venus sextile Pluto will help you see how your relationships and creativity, as well as financial life, can be transformed. A low-side manifestation would leave you feeling obsessed—in which case get help. A high-side manifestation would leave you seeing how an existing relationship can transform to a new spiritual level or be made more profound.

Pisces Mercury squares Sagittarius Mars (February 26 to March 2) also is a caution to watch rushed thinking so it does not lead to aggression, decision-making that is too quick, and impulsive decisions that bite you. Instead, rely upon the Mercury-Pluto (Capricorn) sextile (also February 26 to March 2) to sink down into intuitive thinking that allows you to enjoy the mystery of the intellectual process. Make sure you let go of control and influence, as that can lead you back into the Mars trouble!

January 2018 Astrological Trends

Uranus stations direct on New Year’s Day and resumes forward motion on January 2. There are no retrograde planets until March 9, when Jupiter turns retrograde in Scorpio, and March 22, when Mercury turns retrograde in Aries. This means the time for reflection is over. It’s time to move confidently into new projects and new territory; to act creatively and boldly. Taking chances or making changes is ok with the heavens. Things can move forward now. You may find you get the green light and blocks are no longer there.

In fact, January has so much astrological activity and so many aspects, it’s rather remarkable. Let’s just begin with Mars and Jupiter and allow the story to tell itself from there! I’ll start sections with the technical information and then give you the interpretations.

Mars is conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio 1-1 (exact 1-5/1-6) to 1-12. Mars in Scorpio trines Neptune in Pisces 1-1 and 1-2, and in fact forms a grand trine with the Moon on New Year’s Day. Mars squares the North Node in Leo 1-1 (exact 1-3/1-4) to 1-8. Jupiter squares the North Node 1-1 to 1-15. This looks like a large amount of good fortune underneath a veil of overexuberance. You could easily go too far or party too hard, but at that party you may meet the person of your dreams. You may be over confident, but you’re on the right project. Try to keep your wits about you but also go for it—whatever your “it” is. Scorpio lets us know this is probably an all-or-nothing type of time for most people. Especially if your endeavors involve physical exertion or a sporting activity—this is favored as that is Mars’s domain—and also Mars is exalted in Scorpio. Life here is asking you, with compassion in its voice (Neptune) to make a commitment to the future (North Node square) or choose consciously to stay stuck in the fringes and in past habits (South Node square). It’s time to accept once and for all there’s only forward (no turning back, in other words).

The Full Moon on the night between January 1-2 is a wolf moon in a kite pattern.  The Moon is at 11 degrees cancer and in addition to opposing the Sun, the Moon opposes Venus. This points to tension in integration our instincts with our need to interact. We may want to stay home with the Moon in Cancer, but the world is calling, with Venus in demanding Capricorn. The internal/external, Yin/Yang, mother/child, or any duality that arises for you may need to be worked out using the many astrological energies discussed herein—Mars, the Sun, Neptune, Jupiter, and Pluto.

Sun sextile Neptune 1-1 to 1-4. This aspect provides a boost of psychic energy and spiritual support. Serving groups and individuals with empathy and compassion is favored. Venus sextile Neptune 1-1 (exact 1-2) to 1-5. This provides a window of opportunity to attract a spiritual partner or soul-mate type person. Neptune/Venus combinations such as this are good times for film, photography, and images. If you want to shop for clothes, cosmetics, jewelry, decorations, etc., they will help you creatively express yourself. Romance is highly suggested, and it’s also a good time for friendship.

Mercury

Mercury in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries 1-3 (exact 1-6) to 1-8. This brings many possibilities, and adds more fire power to the psychic energy surrounding the start of January. Mercury/Uranus effects are electrifying and thinking-based, feeling like sudden brilliance or insight. It’s a time of study and you may find you’re talking astrology, electronics, or Web sites. Communications, technical subjects, games, and puzzle-solving are the realms of these planets. On 1-4, there’s a fire grand trine with the Moon in Leo. This can add instinct and a sense of playfulness to the mix.

Mercury also squares Chiron in Pisces on 1-3 (exact 1-6) to 1-8. Something may arise that you need to learn from the emotional baggage you’re carrying. Or, you may find a wound is made—emotional or intellectual—that you need to heal from. Pondering your difficulties may be occurring for you, however.

Venus conjunct Sun January 1 (exact 1-6 to 1-9) to 1-18 and conjunct Pluto January 5 (exact 1-9) to 1-12. Sun and Venus conjunct Pluto for an exact 3 planet stellum on 1-9; Sun conjunct Pluto 1-5 to 1-11; Venus conjunct Pluto 1-5 to 1-12. This is a very interesting and intense planetary stellum! First, the Sun and Venus together point to a harmonious time when it’s entirely possible to meet new lovers and friends, or to have a beautiful time in relationships. It’s also a time when finances or creativity may be particularly great. With Pluto, however, the plot thickens to include karmic and fateful encounters. Pluto asks us to use our personal and social power wisely. For example, if we are married, Pluto says—if you meet someone attractive, by all means avoid having an affair now. It will have dire consequences. That goes for any cheating, lying, or criminalizing. (Just because Saturn is quiet this month—don’t think Pluto does not have Saturn’s back!) Pluto says, however, if you are single, you may meet the person you are destined to be with at this time and feel the most powerful attraction you have ever known! Go for it! Pluto may help you uncover the dynamics beneath harmful relationships at this time and provide the means to exit a relationship. Pluto may provide positive transformation as you peer into the soul of your beloved and you see the gold underneath a rough surface. Most people and relationships are likely not black and white like that, so you’ll probably see much more complex dynamics underneath. It’s about evolution. I’m curious to see how the planets will provide you with evolution during and beyond January after Pluto, Venus, and the Sun have their meeting in structure-changing Capricorn.

The stellum also sextiles a Mars/Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio. On January 9, the Stellum forms an exact sextile to Mars in Scorpio, sitting one degree away from Jupiter, and there is a loose square to Uranus in Aries. Also, the Moon opposes Uranus in the morning while it’s in Aquarius and then meets up with Mars in Scorpio on that night. There is motherhood in the air, even unexpected motherhood! Those dates provide particularly strong points of influence for the energies described below.

Sun in Capricorn sextiles Mars in Scorpio 1-2 (exact 1-9) to 1-17. Vitality and health will be brimming over during the first half of January. You will have energy, so go for your dreams! Instead of letting these days pass by, use the energy to make progress on the things you have been blocked from starting or doing for so long. Be assertive. Venus sextiles Mars in Scorpio 1-4 (exact 1-9) to 1-13. This is the ideal time for romance and dating, adding more fuel to the fire to make the case for a lot of relationships forming or getting stronger during January!

The Sun sextiles Jupiter in Scorpio 1-4 (exact 1-8) to 1-10. This is one of the most beneficial aspects in astrology, so use it to start the projects you have been wanting to start for so long. Whether you believe in destiny or fate, why not give astrological timing a try and see if it works out for you?  The aspect is supposed to bring happiness, luck, and optimism. With the Sun in the earth sign of Capricorn, starting something you want to bring to life seems appropriate. Venus sextile Jupiter in Scorpio 1-5 (exact 1-8) to 1-11. This is a time to avoid eating too much but to go ahead and give as much support as you would like to others. You may also be the recipient of support. Charisma and charm abound as relationships blossom during the meeting of the two benefics in the sky. Both friendship and romance see great affections.

Mercury conjunct Saturn on 1-10 (exact 1-12) to 1-14. Critical thinking capabilities come back on line after many days of less intellectual focus. Attention to detail may return, even though positive thinking is recommended. It’s a good time to attend to the things during the month that require concentration.

Venus square Uranus comes into focus 1-10 (exact 1-13) to 1-15. Avoid impulse buys and having an affair. Go to a new movie instead or enjoy some entertainment. This aspect brings with it a sense of needing something novel. Sun square Uranus occurs 1-11 (exact 1-14) to 1-17. Avoid tinkering with electronics and anxiety if you can. Open your mind and become flexible as you watch things change around you. Ego problems could get the best of people as everyone wants to do things their own way. Address your bad habits, addictive tendencies, and feel free to try out a new appearance.

Venus and the Sun in Capricorn sextile Chiron. The sun from 1-10 (exact 1-13) to 1-15 and Venus 1-11 (exact 1-14) to 1-17. There’s a possible healing the needs to take place and the beginning of the month provides an opportunity for you to do so. This is in the area of your values, and you can do this on a structural level as the Sun and Venus are in Capricorn. You can look at the systems in place in your life or get some body work. You can take a class on healing to learn new methods, for example.

Mercury moves into Capricorn on 1-11. Precision and single-minded thinking is possible again through the end of January as Mercury moves through a very practical earth sign. Watch out for rigid thinking, but welcome the ability for methodical and practical intellectual activity.

Jupiter in Scorpio is sextile Pluto in Capricorn through February 9, but exact in January on the 14-20. Positive change is occurring and many people are helping others. Perhaps you are an agent in helping people to advance during this time. If so, you can relish your role in making the world a better place. Many opportunities exist to place people in positions they need to transform environments for the better as change occurs throughout the world’s systems. Empowerment is the theme of this transit.

Mars in Scorpio trine Chiron in Pisces 1-12 (exact 1-18/1-19) to 1-23. What a chance to take healing action using the water sign energy of Scorpio and Pisces. You must take charge and do something, as a trine can go by with nothing happening if you do nothing. Take charge and boost your healing during these days.

New Moon in Capricorn January 16 at 26 degrees. Moon squares Uranus in Aries. Moon sextiles Mars in Scorpio. Moon sextiles Chiron in Pisces, Moon conjuncts Venus and Sun in Capricorn. There are actually 6 planets in Capricorn on this day. If you can stay home, I’d recommend it. By the next day, Aquarius energy will enter the picture, but for this New Moon day, it is a lot of earth with one tough link to unexpected Uranus. Otherwise, focus on building something and keep quiet and contemplative on the dark of the New Moon day and night. It’s the onetime of January I might keep quiet and keep my own counsel. A good day for a deep pause.

Venus moves into Aquarius on 1-17. Friendship can begin to feel just as important as romance—which could actually be a welcome break after a very romantic start to the year! Venus in Aquarius themes are fairness, loyalty, and independence.

Mercury in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces 1-17 (exact 1-19) to 1-21. This is an excellent time for meditation, relaxation, and creativity. You can tune into ideas through your senses and through spirituality. You can sooth yourself and others, and intuition is high. However, study and intellectual activities are not the focus. Instead, write romance and fantasy stories or use your imagination for creative visualization. Music and vivid dreams are also indicated.

The time when these energies are peaking is during a yod configuration, which is a point of destiny. This Occurs on 1-20 and is made up of 2 quincunx aspects and the Mercury/Neptune sextile. Neptune in Pisces quincunxes the North Node in Leo 1-17 (exact 2-24 to 3-5) to 3-17. On 1-20, the Moon is conjunct with Neptune and the second yod is formed with Mercury in Capricorn pointing toward the North Node.

Sun moves into Aquarius on 1-19. You may star to feel where your constrictions are. The need for freedom is very real when the Aquarius phase is nigh. Make sure to give yourself enough space to breathe and feel free to innovate and try some new things this month. A new perspective, socializing, and an equal playing field are important considerations.

Sol

Mercury in Capricorn conjunct Pluto 1-22 (exact 1-24) to 1-27. This indicates in-depth thinking. It could mean discoveries, psychology, spiritual experiences such as transcendence and communicating with ancestors, and investigations. On the negative side, it can mean deception, addiction, criminality, and abuse of power.  Also, Mercury sextiles Jupiter in Scorpio 1-22 (exact 1-24) to 1-26. This links your mindset to thinking and planning about the future. It will be a good time to visualize. It will be favorable for learning and concentrating. Jupiter rules travel, so trips also look favorable during these days.

Mars moves into Sagittarius om 1-26. On this day, the Moon moves into an opposition with Mars and Venus in Aquarius oppose the North Node in Leo (1-26 to 2-1, being exact 1-30). We may be on the hunt for our ideal situations all of a sudden. It’s easy to see the large picture with Mars in Sagittarius while it’s a little harder to follow through on the dreams that we so easily dream. Try to provide yourself with some realistic adventures to quell your wanderlust. The Moon may mean a bit of tension between needing peace and quiet vs. adventure. A joyful consistency is important, which is why it’s recommended to combine your need for adventure with joyful realism.

Mercury in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries 1-25 to 1-30 (exact 1-27). The things to be aware of with this stress aspect are missed pieces of information, missed communications, and nerves. A little extra planning will help you tremendously on these days. On the bright side, you may come up with some new perspectives and brilliant breakthroughs all of a sudden.

Mercury in Capricorn sextile Chiron in Pisces 1-26 (exact 1-28) to 1-30. There is a lot of support for healing this month, and this is another aspect providing mental clarity for analyzing how to make a situation better.

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 11 degrees Leo occurs on 1-31. Its effects can last for up to the next three months, even though its occurrence falls on this last day of January. Eclipses are powerful change agents. This is what’s called a blue moon, because it’s the second full moon in January. The Moon is conjunct North Node and the minor planet Ceres while the Sun sits Conjunct Venus. There is also a Moon quincunx, aka inconjunct, Neptune aspect. While I usually don’t mention minor planets or inconjunct aspects, in this case they both point the fact that this eclipse is calling in almost every feminine energy in the astrological catalogue to converse with us. We are asked to look to the North Node concept of taking this point of destiny to nurture our better angels and play out the drama of voicing and standing up for what is collectively right for the “family” as a mother would. We need to embody the role of mother as the Moon would. Venus sits with the South Node and the Sun, which both point toward the more selfish and self-aggrandizing instincts. The opposition aspect involves integration work, and can help to find the central space of all planets involved where their energies surrender to evolution. The South Node sits where we have been comfortable and where we need to let go of old habits. The North Node sits where we are being called to our future destiny. The mother nurtures and sacrifices and is gentle. The mother is patient and kind and caring. There is compassion and thoughtfulness in a mothering archetype. There is warmth and a feeling that everyone matters—it is a feeling of family. Venusian glamor is not the feminine archetype that is exalted at this time. Adjustments are needed, according to the Neptune influence. Ceres is propping up the Moon, providing a sense that there is strength to planting and nurturing seeds that can be sown now. The divine feminine has a lot of support from the heavens now. In Leo, which is all about the art of nurturing children as well, and provides a space for the sun’s energies to be integrated with the moon’s, a story unfolds and a joyful future emerges. A woman writing, speaking, working, and pondering on these themes may find herself empowered, indeed.

Mercury moves into Aquarius on 1-31. This gives focus to fixed mental energy. Aquarius is a humanitarian sign and offers a good deal of brilliant mental potential. You may feel your mind speed up as Mercury feels comfortable in a fellow air sign, such as its home sign of Gemini.  Mercury sextiles Mars in Sagittarius from 1-31 to 2-6. The mind and body find alignment and you feel full of charisma and ability. A lot can get done in this week. It’s a good time to ask for something you want—whether it be personal (asking someone on a date) or business. It’s a good time to attend to worldly matters.

December 2017 Astrological Trends

From November’s Peek into December:

Pluto in Capricorn inconjunct North Node in Leo occurs November 26 – December 21 (exact December 10). This is fission-time in our collective destiny. The North Node is the pointer to our destiny, and Pluto shows us where we need to relinquish control. We will feel that there is something we should be doing, but in the fires burning all around us, and the feeling that we ourselves are being consumed by the changes occurring, too, we likely can’t see what it is we’re supposed to do. It’s time to relax and let the old life burn away. The best we can do is be here, show up, be a human being. Life will lead us—and our delusion that we control things will be revealed to be just that—a delusion. (We can look to the year 2020 as the year when things will straighten out again, just to give you a timeline of sorts.) Currently, the Scorpio energy can whisper to us that we are living the phoenix myth—that what gets burned will rise from the ashes. Have faith that we needn’t clean things up right now or attempt to put things together yet. This is the fire stage. We can do our best to do the tasks that are in front of us and keep our focus simple and easy. We are one small part in a larger drama. The North Node asks us to focus on our hearts and keep in touch with joy and our own individual passions in order to do the best healing at this time. Returning to our own hearts and keeping an eye on the universe’s timeline can provide a sense of relief through the existential dramas emerging with Pluto’s transformations of systems and governments. Both Aquarius and Leo, where the nodes are located, are fixed signs, and it’s difficult to deal with the changes of Pluto’s Capricorn, cardinal upheaval. But one thing that is steady is the ability to center one’s heart on the beauty of the human experience. One thing that is certain—no matter what laws or abstract ideas humans make—nature’s laws are greater and bigger. When we attune to nature, we can feel the pulse of reality.

It’s a Full Moon as December opens, yet a dark night of the soul energetically. Astrology shows several challenging influences which I’ll list in a moment, but I want to point to Jupiter in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces as the beneficial aspect to use to ameliorate these winter anxieties. There has never been a better time to tap into or develop your inner mentor and teacher, as both travelers ask us to seek for truth-telling and to plumb the depths of reality. Water signs give us spirituality, the ocean, the ability to transform, sensitivity, psychic connections, a sense of oneness, waves of energy, collective union, flexible strength that knows how to find its way, the archetypical “waterfall” which cleanses from us negative energies, and other mystical abilities. Allow yourself some retreat and isolation to get your individual self in alignment with your highest purpose so you’re a beacon of strength and honor as the month progresses.

You needn’t say much as you let your spiritual alignment do the moving and talking for you. Call upon what you believe in for help instead of relying upon the forms around you, because those forms are disintegrating. Trust and have faith that as they are washed away, new forms will emerge. You can be part of building the new forms.

Be thinking seriously about new philosophies that will serve the future based upon what you know from history. It’s a good time to study deeply what has succeeded or failed before in whatever realm your work and destiny take you. You can’t ignore the past, but it is time to restructure many systems. It is not time, however, to exploit others or allow anyone to be disregarded during Pluto’s “rebuild.” It’s easy to see how tempting it is (as Mars opposes Uranus November 28-December 4) for the “haves” to take advantage of the “have-nots.” Saturn, ultimately, will have none of that. As we see the aspects of Mercury Retrograde in Gemini (December 3) work in conjunction with the Full Moon in Gemini (December 3) and Mercury conjunct Saturn (exact December 6—after the first time on November 28) during the first week in December, the serious nature of the mental work being asked of us is revealed. There’s a tender curriculum where Saturn tells us with these aspects that our mental hygiene is foremost now. We should take an in-depth approach using positive psychology techniques. It’s time to focus on important tasks and make breakthroughs. Do the things you thought you would never do. Use common sense. Go ahead and make long-term plans. Keep your word. Practice honor and integrity. Slips are verboten at this time. I hope you have your game face on, your habits intact, your commitments ready. Discussions can lead to surprising results. Take the high road.

There are Mars aspects in the mix as well, which means that actions are possible to follow up on your ideas. A little extra effort and honesty may be the push you need during the first week or two in December.

December 7 – 12 is a particularly interesting time for Venusian activation. A square from Sagittarian Venus to Pisces Neptune means that there is ballooning tension around issues of trust in relationships and self-trust as well. Our addiction issues are likely to present themselves. If relationships include conflicts, look for them to emerge. Remain conscious that these days include these mirages and remain steadfast beneath them. The Sun in Sagittarius trine the North Node in Leo (touched by the Moon in Leo on the 7th, too) from December 7-11 suggests it is destiny at work asking us to look toward bigger and better things than what we now see. Let go of your tendencies to over-idealize, to get depressed, to fear and to hold yourself apart from others with the belief that you don’t belong. We all belong by the very fact that we exist. Distortions are running rampant and sometimes, feeling sensitive. These days it would be wise to defer making any commitments and to avoid any situations where you feel your self-esteem is taking a hit. It seems you’d be too vulnerable by reaching for negative habits such as learned helplessness. Instead use critical thinking skills to plan for intellectual activities and practice strong boundary setting.

Your ability to think things through should remain strong during mid-month as the Sun conjuncts Mercury December 11-13. So, what is favored over emotional acts are clearing out the paperwork and bills that have piled up, or finding bargains and business deals. Education, sibling interaction, short distance travel, details, and communications such as writing are something to flow with. Things that spark curiosity and get you conversing (self-expression but not deep conversations) are supported.

The Sun also sits in trine aspect to Uranus from December 12th-18th. You may find yourself feeling more confident about the flashes of insight that move through you and inspire you to try something new. New adventures, new inventions, unique ways of understanding—all may lead you to some brilliant humanistic ways of processing and understanding the world. In her book, Big Magic, Elizabeth Gilbert writes about how ideas are actually invisible life forms looking to partner with humans to bring creative matter into being. That’s why sometimes the same idea occurs to two different people—it’s an idea looking for its human partner. Sometimes, humans are able to vibe with ideas and together new things emerge into our reality. Sun Trine Uranus seems like fertile birthing ground for that partnership to occur.

Mercury then conjuncts Venus in Sagittarius (14th-16th) mid-month—even the Moon joins them in Sagittarius on the 16th, and December’s best time for loving interactions occurs. Displays of love are encouraged on these days. Venus is also in trine aspect to the North Node from December 13-16. This is a karmic or destiny aspect pointing toward childbirth and baby showers, weddings, and other familial attachments. It often is associated with social events for women.

Diplomacy, pattern recognition, poetry, and melodies help you express creativity and magic. Showing appreciation, even if it is not romantic love, can go a long way in relationships. You may also receive appreciation. You may make new friends. You can be confident about signing contracts. Social interactions should be enjoyable and financial interactions should be fruitful. It’s a good time to ask someone on a date or ask for a favor. With Mercury retrograde, you may be revisiting old friendships.

The New Moon in Sagittarius on December 18 features another Saturn conjunction. Saturn is a very big player this month. I think the universe would like us to focus on ethics and Saturn would like to highlight the fact that it is moving from Sagittarius, which is somewhat of a shadow expression of Saturn (Sagittarius is the 12th house to Saturn’s home sign on Capricorn) to Capricorn. This New Moon is the last shadow Saturn aspect. It’s a chance to review the past few years of instructional material. How have you been coping with integrating the Saturn responsibilities that have been awakened for you? It’s likely none of us have escaped our own shadows. They travel beside us everywhere the light shines upon us. Sometimes they surprise us when our unconscious strengths and weaknesses come to bear. When the time to change is at hand, it’s a good time to accept responsibility—and at that time there’s no greater friend than Saturn—who helps us slow down long enough to observe everything about ourselves.

The New Moon / Sun duo is also loosely square Chiron is Pisces. It is more argument for the question of have you put water on the fire of your wounds? Have you attended to the places where the real pain exists in your life or are you denying anything that you need to change about your life. The signs are everywhere that this is the transition to a new way of life for us, so allowing the change to occur means getting into the issues we’ve been denying for… forever. Acknowledging sooner rather than later will serve you (and me and everyone—none of us are alone) very well.  This is an Astrologer’s urging to go ahead and do your work. Heck, you probably already are.

Saturn returns home to its own sign of Capricorn on the night of December 19. Saturn will be in Capricorn through March of the year 2020. Capricorn covers the areas of political systems, adulthood, the public, authorities, parents, responsibility, rules, and structures of all sorts.

Venus trine Uranus December 18-22 offers you a time of exploration and playfulness. These are days for creativity, taking a chance, music, craft, meeting a new romantic partner, holding a holiday celebration (even out of the blue!), setting off without a definite plan, exploring a new culture, and breaking out of your routine in some way.

December 21st through 23rd, the Sun moves into Capricorn and is conjunct Saturn in Capricorn. These are great days for Space Clearing. This is a process of uncluttering and moving positive energy through your physical environment. Attending to your own body’s energy is also indicated. Think about simplifying and also consider what your life may look like in the new year. What can you shed and what will you hold onto? Look at a systematic evaluation of your life.

Mercury turns direct on December 22. As it moves forward to retrace the steps it took backward in the zodiac, you may encounter outlier thoughts swirling around. This distorted view of life may confuse you and scare you if it includes some of the things we see now—strange religious views and violent/aggressive group ideologies. Avoid rationalizing (thinking things to make what someone says better in your mind as if it will all be OK), lying to yourself or others (even a little bit), or convoluted cover-ups to protect people. Those who trade in fear instead of love and exploit others for power are in the midst of the same ethical tests we all are. On January 10, 2018, Mercury will leave the “retrograde area” and move past the degree where its December retrograde began. It’s at this time we will see rhetoric clarified.  If you have personal confusion emerge related to Mercury’s movements, it should also clear. This could also be read as family situations that emerge over the holidays that clear up by mid-January. Make sure not to allow yourself to ingest confusion during holiday gatherings. Wait and see instead.

It’s beginning to look a lot like a practical Christmas… with Venus moving into Capricorn and conjunct Saturn and the Sun on December 25th. Any bargains would have been possible earlier in the month. Avoid last minute shopping this year, if possible. Be the planner. Venus-Saturn conjunctions (hey—this is a heavy influence in my chart so I know of this one!) speak to karmic lessons. Relationship tests of distance/separation/inability to connect may come up for the holiday, so let yourself pass the test with flying colors. Guilt or disloyalty could be the root of the problems, or it may be that people find it difficult to express love and affection. If you get the cold shoulder, sarcasm, awkward remarks—let them drop. It looks like people won’t have their best foot forward. In fact, they may be eating their foot for dinner. It seems like a serious time rather than a frivolous time. You may wish to plan a more serious gathering. Even a savings account for youngsters may be the type of gift to consider under this influence, as it attends to the relational and financial issues involved in a Venus-Saturn connection. For those who have already planned gifts, however, simply keeping your exertions modest and honest and heartfelt with little fanfare seems wise. Know that inside people’s hearts are in the right place and they appreciate every gesture even if they have trouble expressing it this year.

Mars trine Neptune December 22 – January 1 (exact on December 28th) provides this advice: dance like everyone is watching. Music, dance, sculpture, and any physical creative outlet is suggested at month’s end. Let yourself flow with the vibration of this transit and allow it to burn through your nervous system to help relax after a big month! This is also an aspect of advocacy, passion, and charm. Use kindness and ethics to win during this time.

December 28 – January 1, Mercury in Sagittarius trines the North Node in Leo. This leads one to believe debates on philosophy are likely, or agreements, thoughts, and movement on issues surrounding children or young people.

This Month: Astrological Trends * Nourishing Recommendations

November 2017 Astrological Trends

The month’s underlying energy of Saturn in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries (exact November 11 but present all month) will provide deep support for making progress on transitions you’re making in your life. If you’re learning in technical areas or need to work with a group, this is favored this month as Saturn and Uranus make the exact aspect one last time in 2017. You can experiment with creative endeavors and your own self-expression, so take the green light and move forward as much as possible. Your thoughts should be clear and your energy sustainable. If you’re teaching, things should flow well. If you’re learning, you should be able to understand complex subjects by breaking them down.

Mercury in Scorpio trine Chiron (first week) in Pisces while Saturn in Sagittarius squares Chiron (all month) provides an opportunity to discern whether we’ve answered the following questions. Have we used this year of Saturn-square-Chiron to actually address our inner-child/inner-adult issues to let go of the past and recognize the need for healing? Or do we still express the shadow side of our Chiron wounds through agonizing over old hurts, brewing resentments, avoiding responsibility, engaging in self-punishing behavior (substance abuse, for example), martyrdom, or escapism? If so, we have an opportunity to consider stopping here and engaging in some form of therapy or getting mentoring in order to clear our psyche for the next phase of life.

Saturn will be moving out of Sagittarius in December and before it moves on, it would be nice to receive some of the gifts its passage offers. Saturn in this placement provides us insights into the truth that our truth is not the only truth. It is asking us to see through beliefs that are faulty. Seeing the world as black and white can lead to erroneous conclusions about the people around us, so it’s important to view them in a complex and flexible manner. It takes a level of maturity and humility to live that level of awareness from the inside out, however. To walk that talk requires us to acknowledge patiently the rights of others to live with equal amounts of freedom that we do—not only ask that they provide us with our freedoms. When we look at our own dogmatic feeling of righteousness, we may be surprised to see how we cause suffering to others and need to learn skills in order to live and let live.

The North Node in Leo is asking us to do our own individual part, but no more. Saturn asks us to put our shoulder to the wheel for that part, but no more. Saturn asks us to know our limits and boundaries. One of those boundaries is knowing that it’s not our place to tell others how to live—even in our own minds. Control dramas are born out of our delusions of more control than we have or need. Happiness is born out of relaxing into being merely part of a larger whole. It’s nice to be together when we are not responsible for it all…

Full Moon November

On November 5, Mercury moves from Scorpio into Sagittarius. You may find yourself seeking knowledge to expand your world view. You mind may turn toward philosophy and debate, enjoying any information which helps you see the big picture. You may begin to place increased importance on freedom of speech and thought.

Prior to moving into Scorpio on November 7, Venus opposes Uranus in Aries from November 1st through 5th. It’s possibly a risky or anxious time in romance/love, creativity, or finance.  Once Venus moves into Scorpio, intensity becomes key in relationships. Both emotionally and in the bedroom, feelings deepen and you may head into thoughts of the “soul mate” variety. Feel free to thoroughly enjoy your partner with gusto during the next month! Especially from November 9th through November 14th, when Venus conjuncts Jupiter, you may find yourself focusing on Venusian issues—which again are love, creativity, and finance.  These days also bring together the two planets of luck in the sign of Scorpio—so Scorpio themes such as investigation, transformation, sharing, depth, mysticism, astrology, healing, power, the ocean, death/rebirth, psychology, mystery, etc. are favored.

Venus then trines Neptune November 13th through 17th.  Instead of the steamy, physical side of Venus, this aspect brings out compassion and fantasy. Relaxation, beauty, singing and music, creativity, tenderness, charity, empathy, and entertainment are all indicated.

Mars squares Pluto November 15 through 22 (exact November 19). This is a time when people are either finding their inner warrior’s song—with Mars in Libra adding the wind instrument and Pluto adding the earth element, or voice, to ground them—or people are preying on others if they are using this energy on the low or immature side. It’s possible to use this to find a lot of inner strength, so make sure to stay connected to your highest ethics and keep from cutting corners. Mars in Libra slows down enough if you have a humanitarian outlook to allow you to consider how to rise like a phoenix from any attacks those predators may throw at you. I’m sorry this is such a time of opposites and embattlement. We are being called to clarify our messages of human and natural rights at this time. Let’s have faith we will emerge with stronger rights and freedoms at a higher level of unity.

New Moon November

On November 21, the Sun moves into Sagittarius and focus moves from the water element to mutable fire. We highlight the search for meaning, truth, travel, and teaching/mentoring. Sagittarius is an active and generally happy sign. Most Sagittarians I know have a deep love for animals and children, so if you would like to spend some time focusing on them during this month, all the more power to you.

November 22, Neptune turns direct in Pisces. This is a shift to a more subtle Neptune energy, although Neptune remains strong in its home sign of Pisces. You may find your sleeping patterns return to normal, and psychic energy or subconscious energy mellows so you can relax easier. If you’ve been having trouble with relaxation, sleeping, or meditation, this is a good time to re-enter your practices and find your rhythm again.

Mercury conjuncts Saturn November 28th to provide a bookend to the mental energy around focusing on the Saturn/Chiron theme of 2017 discussed earlier in the month. This is seeming to say—seriously, people—consider your level of maturity and flexibility around how well you have healed your inner child. It seems time to release your resentments and move forward if you haven’t already. This sets us up for the things destiny is asking us to face beginning in December as Pluto transforms the world around us. If we thought our own personal history/storyline was difficult to release, it will be only a preview to release a collective Karma/storyline.

Mars in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries from November 29 to December 3. Think about cardinal rules. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Make love, not war. Helping others is a cure. Things like this help us pass through the Mars-Uranus opposition, which has active trigger Mars in the passive-but-cardinal sign Libra while revolutionary Uranus passes the last degrees of fiery Aries. When we take charge of our intention, the general boomerang energy should be quelled because whatever we do will bounce back upon us relentlessly. Let that be love, creativity, and passion instead of aggression, resentment, or something even worse like we see in the media hype surrounding us presently.

A Destiny Note and Peek into December:

This Month: Astrological Trends * Nourishing Recommendations

October 2017 Astrological Trends

Elements that last all month include Retrograde Chiron in Pisces square Saturn in Sagittarius, leading to its exact aspect on November 2, 2017. Both personally and publicly, a vast undertone of life is doing the practical, spiritual, and massive things needed to heal the bleeding wounds that have not to this point been able to be healed. Whatever that has been for you, I imagine you are surprised at the progress you’re making or the changes that are happening. It may seem things are getting worse, but as many wounds are being cleared out and attended to by the Saturn/Pisces square. Squares are not easy, however—they highlight conflicts. Saturn will brook no nonsense and Chiron points to where it hurts—especially in Pisces.

Libra energy is emerging during October, just as Aphrodite emerged from the ocean at birth from her father, Uranus. Aphrodite was a motherless goddess in lore, and she chose to live in air rather than in the ocean. You can imagine Boticelli’s Venus on the Half Shell painting. With this symbolism, however, Libra’s Aphrodite is an air sign that thinks subjectively, keeping that link to the depths of the ocean. So think of values, philosophy, humanism, and consciousness. People are the focus of Libra’s thought, not inputs and outputs.

Jupiter, the Sun, and Mercury are already in Libra as the month opens, and Venus and Mars will enter Libra on October 14th and 22nd, respectively. Jupiter opposes Uranus in Libra from September 26th – October 9th. It should serve as a circuit breaker for most of us creatively to help us understand how the Libra energy will begin to work and integrate into our lives. As we turn the lights back on, we may see how we have been held back, or how we have been holding ourselves back. The New Moon in Libra (when the Sun and Moon sit at the same degree at 26 degrees Libra) on the 19th kicks off our thinking around Libra issues right before the Sun moves into Scorpio. They both oppose Uranus in Aries (Libra’s father in the myth above, if you will notice).

We’re being asked to go slower and think and then take action on our values. This should be happening naturally for us—it’s not something we need to push. It something that should be shaping us anew. It would not surprise me if you are questioning the things you have believed up to now, or working out philosophical ideas that are taking form around what you truly value in life. Allow this to occur and please, please give form and space to these creative ideas. The world needs them and you. As the anxieties swirl around and you travel back and forth in thought—which Libra energy simply must do—give yourself lots of space to explore.

Full-Moon-October

With Mars entering the mix to match Jupiter and Venus in Libra, it gives action and balance to interdependent activities, partnerships, and harmonious possibilities for a time (keep in mind Uranus is lurking with surprises over in Aries still along with Pluto in Capricorn with a drum of transformation). This is a kind of welcome break that allows us to start some new endeavors after feeling like we have been slogging through the mud with heavy aspects for a long while.

Venus and Mars meet up in Virgo at the start of October, and dance together through October 11th, so they will provide a sense that the divine male and divine female energies are in alignment (especially October 4-6 when this aspect is at its most exact). They are in trine aspect to Pluto in Capricorn, and this means harmony in transformation. Enjoy the beginning of October as an unusually romantic and harmonious time if you are in a relationship, or perhaps a time to meet someone if you’re looking. If happily single, maybe use it as a time to enjoy other types of relationships or be extra loving toward yourself. All relationships benefit from this—it needn’t be romantic.

Venus is in square aspect to Saturn starting on the day of the Full Moon, October 5th through October 10th. This can test your resolve toward harmony in relationships through separation, financial challenges, fears of criticism, or motivation problems. Mars is square to Saturn from October 7th through October 14th. Your Mars/Saturn tests will likely revolve around limitations to your desires. I know I have to study during this time frame, for example, so I won’t be able to do the things I want to do and will likely feel “tied down.” The advice I’d give would be to delay starting new things for this week and focus on protecting what you already have.

On the other hand, Pluto is in square aspect to the Sun and Mercury in Libra from October 6th -11th, and on the 11th Pluto also opposes the moon in Cancer. On the high side, this is the energy for deep psychological exploration or research. On the low side, this is a trigger energy for control issues to come up. Keep an open mind and keep from getting dragged into control dramas with others. Instead just go see your therapist or go for a walk out in nature (or do what you enjoy) to calm yourself down if you, yourself, get triggered.

October 7th-13th, Venus opposes retrograde Chiron in Pisces. This adds fuel to the energy of people pleasing and over-giving being possible, so pull back and center yourself on these days. Also, Mars follows, since Mars and Venus are in dance-step, still. Mars is in opposition to Chiron from October 8th-21st. This is a signal to beware of physical clumsiness, however. Stay safe out there, earthlings. It’s also a time to be extra-self-accepting.

October 10, Jupiter moves into Scorpio. This is going to be a challenge to the moderation the Saturn aspects are asking of us, as Jupiter in Scorpio awakens and expands our passions. Perhaps the passion we might steer ourselves toward will be healing. We may focus on the bigger picture to synthesize the Libra energy with the Jupiter expansiveness. Scorpio will add authenticity and allow us strength behind our new Libra endeavors. We’ll be learning, exploring, and expanding in the questions, the meanings, the taboos, and the mysteries.

New-Moon-October

Mercury moves into Scorpio on October 17. It conjuncts Jupiter through October 20. This is a time for expanding your thoughts and generally t time of joy. Neptune in Pisces Trines Mercury in Scorpio from October 21st-25th.  Mercury/Neptune trine should provide intuition and poetic thinking. All systems are go for this time, intellectually. Allow your mind some free reign and enjoy yourself. Write, do business, etc.

The Sun moves into Scorpio and into conjunction with Jupiter October 22/23 (depending on your time zone). Although the Libra influence remains with the other planets (October 22, Mars also moves into Libra), we can take it a step deeper as we begin to feel ourselves link into Scorpio’s depths. Psychology, research, spirituality, oceans, and issues of life and death and transition/transformation are all Scorpio domains. While the Sun is meeting up with Jupiter, it should be a joyous time through October 29.

Then, the Sun moves into trine aspect with Neptune on Halloween and through November 5. This will make for a magically psychic Halloween, as Sun in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces is some deep water energy! You may wish to pick a costume that expresses the deeper aspects of yourself—your highest self—angel, elf, queen, princess—or some other beneficent magical creature—instead of a dark costume. Because the energies of Halloween are the kind that connect you to spirit and manifestation. You may find yourself putting others before yourself this holiday!

This Month: Astrological Trends * Nourishing Recommendations

September 2017 Astrological Trends

Leo Mars and Mercury in conjunction trining Uranus in Aries straight out of the shoot in September provides explosive energy to take advantage of for creative initiative. Brilliant starts are available from both your brain and heart if you pick up whatever medium you’re famous for—paint, clay, the written word, music, photography, the dramatic arts, social arrangement, architecture, botany, dancing, textiles, insert-your-art-here… The key is you will have to consciously put in the effort as it’s a trine. Use the first five days in September (especially September 2 when the aspect is exact) to focus on starting a creative project. Dream big dreams! They can manifest.

Avoid impatience and channel energy instead into open-mindedness. People’s peculiarities can come to be the things that teach us the most about ourselves, in the long run. Allow yourself to contain your impulses for something of your better angels.

Last month, there was a note about calling upon and developing spiritual practices for use in late August and early September, and this should be restated here. Keep using your connection to Spirit and to Life / God / Universe to attend to your inner world’s hygiene. It’s simply too easy to slip and slide, so instead keep connected to the “power greater than yourself.” Attend to signs and dialogs with life and notice when you are in and out of flow. Humbly allow for the fact that our personalities, egos and intellects are not really in charge. Feel feelings and let them pass like the weather. Hold on to nothing on the material level and instead hold to a higher level. Remember that there is something beyond or before or beneath the form of the things you see and feel.

You may need to work to believe in yourself a bit, because the Virgo Sun/Pisces Retrograde Neptune opposition is occurring. Neptune’s effect on your core energy may have you reeling as you puzzle out what you think is rational and try to organize life. With this polarity in a conflicting aspect, you may wonder about or be inundated with practical matters. It will be hard to focus on creativity or spiritual insight if this is the case, and the Sun takes center stage for you. If so, keep a recorder or small journal handy to write down your flashes of insight to follow up on when you’re free.

The important things to be clear about during Sun-Neptune oppositions: steer clear of things that appear too good to be true. Quick fixes such as fly-by-night relationships, substances that make you feel relief, bad habits that weaken your immune system (such as missing sleep), and believing your negative thoughts. People can be prone to deception so protect yourself and keep your wallet closed until around September 10.

Instead of shopping, take up a new deep breathing activity. Take sixteen or twenty deep breaths. When you exhale, focus on pushing your belly button back toward your spine as far as you can to empty your lungs. When you inhale, inhale all the way down into your lower belly instead of taking shallow breaths. Let the opposition be about synthesizing the Sun and Neptune like breathing synthesizes the inhale and the exhale. Allow opposites like beginnings and endings to find their center within you. Pause in that center. Our existence is so much about realizing and managing the pause in the flow of duality, even when we’re unaware.

Even more emotional intensity lights up our lives on the Full Moon September 6. Watch for such sensitivity to others that you can pick up a virus—be it physical or non-physical. I might sit out this Full Moon if possible. It doesn’t look so possible from this Astrologer’s stand point, so suggestions are to practice kindness and gentleness, go slowly, and allow yourself to do only your own life. Definitely avoid meddling in anyone else’s business on this day. You’ll probably have enough of your own to attend to. It’s a day to give hugs of encouragement instead of advice. Get lots of sleep.

Practicality and reality are returning. Until they do, perspective, except on a canvas or in a fantasy, will simply be difficult to come by. They begin to return as Mars enters Virgo on September 5. Actions will become more methodical and intellectual instead of creative and heartfelt. The accountant shall conquer the king, metaphorically speaking.

Mercury turns direct on September 5 at 28 degrees Leo and then enters Virgo on September 10. This supplements the Virgo domain becoming predominant in the energies surrounding us.

The Sun is in on the same energy wave, also. The Sun in Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn from September 6-11 (exact on the 8th). This is a time to focus on the depth of investigation. You’re looking for complete understanding, personal transformation, relational revolution with systems or people in power. You can clean up outstanding issues or resolve problems during this period.

Immediately following this, is the Sun squaring Saturn while Venus trines Saturn. What a mixed bag the dates of September 11-15 will be. It’s in conjunction with the North Node’s long-term square to Saturn, as well. If you have passed Saturn’s tests of ethics, it may be a great time to propose marriage or take the next steps to solidify a relationship long-term. You may meet someone who would be a great partner (and it may be someone whose age is different than yours—significantly older or younger). If we have been faithful and ethical, we may see rewards at this time. Saturn may tell us we have “passed our test” in some manifest way.

Alternatively, if you’re having trouble with procrastination or you have outstanding issues with ethical dilemmas in your life, this may be the time life brings these issues to a head for you and you can no longer ignore them. If you haven’t done the inner work, the outer world can do works on your behalf.

Venus keeps this Astrologer guessing with a sextile to Jupiter September 11-18 and a trine to Uranus September 14-19. During this mid-September time period, romance is in the air. These are both aspects you need to consciously pick up on—you use the available energy—it doesn’t use you. With Jupiter, there is a sweet and expansive vibe. Your love grows, you could travel, both in the sense of physically or in the sense of metaphorically to a new place in your love connection. With Uranus, the unexpected happens. Anything from a brilliant new love passion that runs itself out quickly—to even an unexpected affair that is damaging to your life! Be careful, but also, be available for the good stuff, too. Venus can also rule creative and financial realms, so you may develop relationships or projects in those arenas as well. Since the Mercury/Mars conjunction also opposes Neptune at this time (causing mental confusion/noise), I’d recommend you put off making any financial decisions or major relationship decisions until after this aspect passes on about October 3. (Overall, September is looking like a rather frugal month.)

This brings us to the New Moon on September 20, and it’s the New Moon in—you guessed it—Virgo. This New Moon, and the definition of a New Moon is that it sits in conjunction to the Sun, is in opposition to Chiron. (So Moon/Sun are both in opposition to Chiron). This means you can experience some very intense feelings about core identity issues. Processing these things could involve everything from depression, loss of confidence, a sense of permanent change, a sense of victimization or scapegoating (or the desire to do so to others), the projection of inferiority onto other people, or a sense of weakness. I know we have some major surgery scheduled in our family on September 21, for example, so we will be facing major life changes at that time, along with you. It’s simply written in the stars, and for us, its external circumstances coming to bear. Of course, there is always a little fear with a surgery but hopefully more faith that afterwards there will be relief and healing. Chiron brings both—healing and distress.  You may be facing something current that is changing or something from the past. With a New Moon, especially after an eclipse, it is a good time to embark upon change.

September 23-26, Mercury squares Saturn, so it would be a great time to study independently or seek the advice of an expert. It’s a tough time for communicating with others. This will be a little difficult for us due to the Jupiter-Uranus opposition hitting its exact placement once again. It’s a long-term aspect that comes into exact aspect a few times during 2016 and 2017, and September 28 is the last of the three times of its exact opposition. Jupiter in Libra is the teacher asking for an expansion of humanitarianism and diplomacy based on value systems while Uranus in Aries is providing unexpected initiatives, spontaneity, and breakdowns of old structures to make way for the new. People are keen to change things in the world and see no reason to continue things as they currently stand. They want to speak out against injustice and lack patience and persistence to see changes through with this aspect.

Coincidentally, September 28 is also when Pluto turns direct after being retrograde since April. This means we can start to think about moving forward with our personal transformations in a faster way instead of purging and reflecting upon what needs to change. October will probably be a more active time for that, since Venus moves into opposition with Neptune and Mercury moves into opposition with Chiron at the tail end of September, reminding us to keep our wits about us yet again in financial and relationship matters. If you are feeling grief, allow yourself to feel your feelings. Maybe you want to get outside of your thoughts for a bit. Perhaps go to a mystery or ghost movie on September 29-30, instead of inviting one into your personal life.
